Krypteria: I can't breath

Rodney McKay hunched over the tablet he had attached to the Ancient computer that runs the water filters, scowling at the gibberish that that scrolled down the page. Because of the limitations Earth technology the interface with the Ancient Tech was tenuous at best and at worst tended to blow up their limited supply of computers.

The man growled again, before slumping slightly when he realized that he was alone. In the deep privacy of his own head he could admit that their little expedition was in a lot of trouble; with their power problems, food shortage, and lacking the ability to do more than turn on 90% of the small amount of tech that they had the power to make work. Even when they could get something to work the database was about as helpful as translating a page Spanish to Japanese one word at a time then running the whole mess through a Google translator to find the English version; most of time the linguist can't even find a context for half the words. They were all in over their heads even without the wraith.

A snarl escaped his lips as his tablet gave a sound that was almost akin to a human shriek of pain and send up a shower of spark. "Oh, to hell with this" McKay muttered as he detached the now pitiful looking tablet from the main computer terminal. There was no way some city, no matter how old or advanced was going to defeat him; he was Rodney McKay this world better learn that he doesn't dance to anyone's tune but his own so they better learn his dance as well. Working directly with the Ancient computer this time he used his limited knowledge of Ancient Symbols to tap a few buttons and watch the filter pulse into life. Rodney smiled, they would get through this.
