New Friends?

Frisk continued sobbing at the spot where Toriel last stood, her ashes lay across the floor at Frisk's feet. "Quit being a baby Frisk, we need to keep moving!" Chara scolded, no regret in her voice. Frisk sniffed one last time, wiped her nose on her sleeve and held her head back up. Chara was right, if she stopped now it could only mean trouble, BIG trouble. Frisk walked up to the door Toriel once blocked and opened it up. A bright, harsh light filled her vision and threatened to blind her. Her eyes soon adjusted and she walked out into…snow? Frisk looked to her left and saw a camera poorly hidden in some snow covered bushes. Was somebody watching them? Did somebody know of Toriel's death? This didn't seem like such a good idea anymore. Frisk sat down on the snow and curled up into a tight ball. Nothing could make her get back up…she thought. "Frisk, if we don't keep moving, we, I mean you, are going to freeze. Don't be such a cry baby Frisk, she was blocking your way to freedom!"

"What if we didn't need to actually kill her…We could of spared her but you couldn't think about that could you Chara! You only know how to think about yourself, maybe this isn't working out as well as you thought…I want you to get out of my head…NOW!" Frisk demanded.

"Well hold on now partner, since when did you make my decisions for me? I know what's best for us I used to live here! You don't get to make up rules Frisk, can't you see? Every single choice we make, nothing will matter in the end. We will all be reduced to dust and ash, just like Toriel. Just get up Frisk, I can't see you make the same mistakes I did…or like Asriel…you will just die for my sake…" Chara seemed depressed at the mention of Asriel. Frisk finally decided to get up. She walked a few paces and reached a large stick, too heavy to drag along. Suddenly a large snap was heard and the stick was broken in two. Frisk ran to a bridge with bars too large to stop her from entering when footsteps were heard behind her

"Turn around kiddo, don't you know how to greet a new pal?" A deep, raspy voice asks. Frisk turns around slowly, starting to get scared. The dark figure puts out his hand and Frisk grabs it, suddenly the sound of a loud whoopee cushion fills the air. The figure laughs and throws his blue hoodie down to his shoulders. "Hey, I'm Sans, Sans the skeleton! You're a human? That's hilarious! I'm meant to be on patrol for humans but you know…I'm not really interested in capturing anybody. My brother Papyrus on the other hand, he is a human hunting fanatic! Well, you better be going now huh?" Frisk turned and took a few steps away from the short skeleton. "Actually could you uh go through these bar thingies, yeah go right through them, my bro made them too wide to actually stop anybody." Sans retorts. Frisk goes through the wide bars and reaches a clearing, there is a watch post, snow balls and a lamp… "Quick, behind that conveniently shaped lamp, my bro is coming!" Sans says. Papyrus comes along. Some hilarious puns from Sans and a scolding from Papyrus fills the whole conversation. Frisk gets a good look at Papyrus, he is tall, wears a red costume and has a silky, red scarf that flows with the wind. Papyrus leaves after the exchange and Sans begs her to actually play along with his brother who has never actually seen a human before. Frisk reluctantly obliges.

"Great job partner! Now they won't suspect us at all! Not even I thought of that, maybe your smarter than I give you credit for, now how do we get rid of Sans, he has cost me more than my fair share of resets…" Chara trails off

"I don't want to kill anyone else Chara…please don't make me…" Frisk begs

"Pathetic, I believed in you. If it was up to them, well you would already be dead. I'll always be part of you, protecting you from everybody. Forget all of the lives you end, there's no resetting! Or they might lose track of every time you strike them down! Now all this time and effort put into these fights would just be put to waste, we wouldn't want that would we?" Chara doesn't wait for an answer, "Of course… if you want to fight without me you will die, over and over until you actually learnt to fight, what does Toriel know? She died remember? You can't end up like her, no we are better than all these monsters for you see we are humans, we are superior to them in every way and there is no way I am letting you get away with sparing them Frisk, I worked too hard for you to go and ruin all this. I am not leaving and you can just close your eyes when I have to kill deal?" Frisk reluctantly nodded her head, not wanting to get on the wrong side of this genocidal maniac. If she said no…she couldn't think of it. She was determined to beat Chara, just not yet.

"Yawn…those puzzles are all too easy, let's just go to the shop I guess…" Chara sounded bored as Frisk eagerly got along with Papyrus. Frisk entered the store and bought a couple of cinnibuns. Papyrus was waiting just outside the border of Snowdin, Frisk was listening to him talking while eating her food. "Prepare to fight human!" Frisk spit out her cinnibun, she couldn't fight him! They were becoming friends, Chara would just kill him, too late, the battle had already begun

Frisk narrowly avoided all of Papyrus' attacks and tried to spare him on many occasions, but Chara just got angry with her. "Kill him Frisk or so help me I will!" Chara slowly started to grab a hold over Frisks determined body, but after a while Chara was just too much to handle. Frisk gave up, Chara grinned in triumph and pulled out her toy knife. "Human, you shouldn't play with knives! But I the Great Papyrus will stop you!" Papyrus started to sweat a bit. He was nervous, Chara wasn't. Chara took a couple of steps forward…and swung her knife….

Frisk screamed like her life depended on it, but really, Papyrus' did. Suddenly out of nowhere Sans appeared and stabbed Chara through her chest. Frisk coughed blood. "Chara, leave now or I swear I will kill Frisk!" Sans eye was glowing a blue colour. Chara seemed to back down and Papyrus looked utterly confused. Flowey appeared behind them and watched, unnoticed. Papyrus slowly stopped the battle and waited for an explanation. "Chara, are you gone?" Sans cautiously tried.

"Chara won't leave me alone!" Frisk screamed

"Who is this Chara you speak of?" Papyrus tried for answers but none were given. Sans understood and left, dragging Papyrus along with him, "I will have to fight you another time human!" Papyrus' voice slowly faded into the distance and Flowey quickly hid as Frisk turned around. If she were to die…would Chara be gone for good? But she didn't want to die, not here and not yet. Maybe if worse came to worse, she could at least end herself before Chara could claim another life…but would that truly stop her? Chara was incredibly determined, no doubt she would find another vessel to control. Why were things so complicated in this place? Why did Chara have to exist?

The joy of not hearing Chara filled Frisk with determination…SAVE?
