Decision Gone Wrong
Chapter 1
.
He could hear the sound of laughter from the outside. Smiling to himself, he continued flipping the pages of the book on his hand as his eyes scan through the content of the book.
Knock knock.
His actions came to a halt, his head slowly turned towards the door as he thought he heard a soft knock on the door.
He waited in silence.
And waited.
Time passed but the door remained closed, not a sign of opening any time soon.
Silence filled the room once more.
"... Just imagining things, huh?" What was he expecting, exactly? He was not even sure himself.
He knew that Kanda would not wish him "Happy birthday" - He never did.
"...I guess he really didn't know about it...?" Allen mumbled to himself.
Yeah right, you guys have lived together for 3 years and he still do not know when your birthday is. Sure, Allen Walker, keep deceiving yourself.
Somehow, he was feeling a little empty on the inside.
He knew that Kanda only love Alma. Alma, on the other hand, love Kanda too. They are the perfect couple together, and that was what make Allen unhappy, not that he will admit it tho. Allen had no idea why was he feeling that way, but since he felt it most of the time Kanda and Alma were in the house, he brushed it off as fatigue.
Pouting slightly, he placed the book on his hand down, turning off the table light on his right before crawling into the warm blanket.

Decision Gone Wrong
.
"Allen, my boy, how are you doing?"
If someone were to ask Allen if he had regret doing anything in his life, he would say that he regretted helping Tiedoll. A lot.
Taking a deep breath as to prevent himself from bursting in anger, he answered, "I'm fine, thanks for asking. And I do hope that you would stop calling me like this." He understood that Tiedoll was worried about him and Kanda, but this is way too much!
Allen had to wake up early in the morning everyday, probably 6 a.m. or sort just to prevent yourself from being stuck in a very awkward situation. A certain pair of couple could be seen having their sweet moment together and he was there, standing like a statue and trying his best not to interrupt them. Sometimes, a glare due to his presence over there.
Oh, one more thing, Allen is not a morning person.
Having to endure the sweetest displayed before him on daily basis, which will continued with a rind from a certain someone can be really frustrating.
What a great timing to call, Tiedoll.
"I'm just worried about the two of you... So, how is his lover? You've lived with them for 3 years now. How is he? Is he good? Is he loyal to Yuu? Is he-"
And thus, the other reason Allen regretted helping Tiedoll surfaced.
He had asked the same question every morning for the past 3 years. It was not like he hated Tiedoll for asking... Okay maybe a little, but that was not the point.
Every time Tiedoll asked him this, he could feel something in his heart cracked.
"Alma's fine. Yes, he's loyal to Kanda, and yes, they are happy together." With that, Allen slammed the phone down to the receiver, biting his lips at the same time.
"..." What was that feeling he felt when he said they were happy together?
He could not breathe well. His lungs failing on him as well out of a sudden, adding up with the sudden presence of a strong fainting spell, threatening to take over his body for reasons unknown. It was almost as if his body was shutting down by itself, a clear evidence of him not wanting to accept something.
But what was it that he refused to accept?
Ring.
God damn, why can't people just leave him alone?!
.
Decision Gone Wrong
.
He had a dream.
A dream where he looks the same as other people.
His hair was brown, his eyes were hazel. Even his disfigured arm was absent.
He was playing happily with his only friend.
He could see other children around him, but none of them was willing to go near him.
No one dare to be near him, except him.
He never questioned why, he never care. As long as he was willing to play with him, it was good enough.
"Allen, it's time to go back."
Even when he refused to go back with the guard, he would pat his head gently, asking him to be a good boy and promised that they will play again the next day.
He was always there for him. For Allen, his existence was the only medicine to his own madness.
But one day, he did not show up.
Allen was a total mess that day. He could not remember what happened after that, just a glimpse of seeing himself covered in more scars and bruises when he had a look at himself at the mirror.
He went back on the second day, waiting for him once again. And the third, the fourth-
He never show up since then.
"... Liar..." He cried out, not too loud for the guards to hear, but loud enough to cover his own ears from all the sounds of laughter of other children around him. He was feeling extra stressful with all the tests they were forcing on him that day.
What happened to our promise? Have you finally give up on me?
Tears streamed down his cheeks, his eyes becoming more and more blurry. It was not the tears, he knew. It was something else.
Have you finally decided that you can't stay by a monster's side?
He felt a sharp pain on both his eyes, covering his eyes with palms, he felt warm liquid flowing through his fingers.
Was it his tears? If so, why could he taste the metallic taste on his so-called tears?
"Damn, it's acting up." He could not see anything, but he felt someone pushing his chin up before commenting.
He heard the other guard commenting something after that, but no voice reached him. The only thing he could hear back then, was the deafening scream that kept ringing throughout his head.
Not being able to see made him sensitive in his other sense. He could feel something sharp being buried into his face, more specifically, the part above his eyebrow, before being dragged down slowly, carving a pattern on his face.
It hurts. It really hurts.
Still, he did not cry out. He held them all back. Even when he felt his body being torn apart from the pain, or when he felt his left arm being licked by the hot flames, he stayed silent.
He won't die from something like that, pain was just a useless stimuli to him.
No one would actually care for him no matter how agonizing his screams sounds like.
All along, he was the only one that cared.
But he was no longer there for him.
Another pain stimuli was transmitted through his receptors to his spinal cord, forcing Allen to bit his own hand to hold back his screams.
"Oh my god, he's still alive even with all these cuts!"
His hearings were back by then.
"Told ya' he's not a human."
That's not true, I'm human too!
When he finally gained back his sight, he saw his own reflection through a broken mirror beside him.
Silver hair and eyes, an disfigured arm, an ugly scar on his face...
He had changed so much since that test.
"After this, there's a high chance that he'll change."
Was this what they meant back then in the lab?
Tears gathering at the corner of his eyes, he started laughing instead.
So, this was the reason he needed to endure those painful tests?
His laughed increased in volume gradually.
That was probably the saddest laugh ever escaped his mouth.
He was once a human, but after every tests he went through, he was forcefully changed.
If that's the case, he was actually making a good choice by leaving Allen like that.
After all, he was not a human.
Well, not anymore.

Decision Gone Wrong
.
Gasping, Allen woke up from his nightmare.
What... was that?
Looking around, he found out that he had fallen asleep on the couch in the afternoon after cleaning house. The clock read 1930, Kanda and Alma were probably hungry by now, I have to prepare dinner...
The dream felt so real, it can't be his imagination... right?
But what if the dream was what really happened to him in the past?
"I say, will you ever remove that hood and gloves of yours?" Snapping awake from his thoughts, he saw Alma reaching to his head, trying to remove his hood. Panicked, he pushed Alma away. Alma, obviously not expected to be pushed, tripped over a stool and fell down.
"Alma!"
"What the heck, beansprout?! All Alma did was asking you a question!"
"I'm really sorry! I-I-"
"Why in the world are you still wearing the hood and gloves indoor?! Stop hiding like a coward and take them off!"
"...No."
"I said, take them off."
"You are going overboard, Kanda Yuu! I apologize for what I did to Alma but taking off my hood and gloves have nothing to do with anything!"
"Yuu, it's really okay, Allen apologized too. Let's just forget- Yuu, stop that!"
Kanda tried to pull his hood down, Allen could not do anything to prevent his hood to fall before it was too late.
Kanda and Alma had seen his hair and eye colour.
"He's... He's...!"
Alma was shocked to the point he could not form a proper sentence.
Not giving them any chance to explain themselves, Allen ran back to his room, slamming the door closed so hard, the echo could be heard from everywhere in the house.
.
Decision Gone Wrong
.
His breathing was hectic, it was the worst he'd feel. He could feel his blood running cold every second past. The expression Kanda and Alma shared when they stared at him-
They saw me! They saw it all!
Trembles worked their way into his entire being.
"What's wrong with me?!" Pulling his hair hard, he tried to let the pain to overtake the fear in him.
.
"Allen, it's time to go back."
.
"SHUT UP! SHUT UP!"
.
"We'll play again tomorrow."
.
"SHUT UP ALREADY!" The memories surfaced so clearly before his eyes. The same child petted his head gently, and smiled.
.
"It's a promise, Yuu."
.
Allen's eyes widen at said name.
It couldn't be-
"Yuu...?!"
