Faolan jumped on one of the outclanners, pinning it down and ripping its throat. One down. he thought And four to go. He picked up another small one and tossed it in to a tree trunk. Faolan turned around to see a big outclanner pinning down Edme. Edme was trying to break free but couldn't because of the big wolf's weight. "You'll make a good pup giver once I finish your pathetic mate!" The big wolf said with a cruel laughter. Upon hearing that, Faolan rammed the big wolf's side, making him fall over. To Faolan's shock, the big wolf rolled free and nipped him on the shoulder. That's enough... Faolan thought. He raked his claws across the big wolf's face and rammed him in to a tree trunk. He proceeded to go for his throat, but the other two outclanners jumped on Faolan before he could finish him off. So he rolled to get the pathetic outclanners off, then ripped out both of their throats swiftly. Faolan ran to the tree trunk where the big wolf was dying. "Pathetic thing you are..." Faolan said and then bit in to the big wolf's throat. Faolan trotted over to the scarred Edme, licking her wounds and nuzzling her reassuringly. "It's okay." Faolan said softly. They fell asleep soon after the run in.

What a good wolf... Edme thought staring at the sleeping Faolan. Wait... I can't be falling for him, can I? Edme pondered the question. Ultimately she realized, she definitely was. Too invested in the question, however, that she didn't realize the pups the outclanners had been feasting on had been moved. By none other than a scheming little outclanner that had been thrown against a tree. The outclanner, whose name was Zarlie, was planning to report this to the MacDuff Clan, and claim those two wolves were eating pups, when Zarlie's group found them and the two wolves had killed them all, except for Zarlie. I'm brilliant! Zarlie thought. Zarlie washed his muzzle to remove any blood of the pups. Zarlie then went to the MacDuff Chieftain, faked being exhausted, and told everything he had thought of. The wolves of the clan took him seriously. They listened to him and even followed him to the spot Faolan and Edme were sleeping. It's working! It's really working! The wolves drove off Faolan and Edme, who looked confused at what was going on, but ran anyways.

"Do you have any idea of what that was about?" Edme asked after they were a good distance from the MacDuff Territory. "No. Not at all." Faolan replied. "Oh well. Anyways Faolan... thank you so much..." Edme said. The handsome wolf Faolan looked at her. "No problem. I love helping friends." Faolan said back. Edme continued. "And over these past few days... I... I think I'm falling for you, Faolan." She choked on the last few words. Faolan stopped dead in his tracks. "Wait... really?" Faolan said, shocked. "Yes. Truly." Edme replied. "I think I am too..." Faolan croaked. Yes! Edme thought.

Edme and Faolan had slept close to each other that night. They didn't know where they were going, the only words they could make out while being driven out was 'Murderer!' and 'Pup-eater!'. Faolan realized they must've been framed. "Wake up, sleepy." Faolan said playfully to Edme, nudging her awake. "Oh alright." Edme huffed. Faolan told her what he had realized and that they had to leave the beyond until things got sorted out. "I guess we really do..." Edme said in disbelief. So that day Faolan and Edme ran press-paw speed so that they could make it to the outermost.
