~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Choosing Ceremony ~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I sighed quietly, as we took the stairs to the floor to the choosing ceremony. Sometimes I wonder why don't we just use the elevators? There is nothing selfish about that? My legs and feet ached as I made my way to the floor. The doors were pushed open, and help open. I started to have to take deep breaths in order to control my breathing. All of the factions 16-year olds lined up in alphabetical order. I stood next to a girl named Chasity Perrh from Candor, who was dressed in black and white, the casual Candor uniform. The directions are told on what will happen. When Marcus calls my name, I will walk up to the center of the circle. Get the knife, cut my arm, and choose the faction. This can't be happening... I looked at all the bowls. Amity is earth, Dauntless is lit coals, Candor is glass, Abnegation is stones, Erudite is water. I turned my head slightly to see Beatrice, looking nervous. Well, I am speaking for everyone on being nervous. I watched one by one, 16year olds making the most important choice of their lives, in a matter of seconds.

"Caleb Prior." Marcus calls. I look over to see Caleb walking over and taking the knife in a steady hand. He cuts his palm lightly and scarlet red blood ozed out of the cut. He took a breath and walked over to the water. I saw him drip the blood onto the water. Erudite. Beatrice looks a bit pale and in a thought.

"Beatrice Prior" Marcus calls next. She held her breath and walked to the black eyed man in gray. She took the knife and cut her palm lightly. She walked over to two bowls. The lit coals and gray stones. She stood in between them. She reached out her hands to the lit coals. Dauntless. WHATS GOING ON HERE? WHAT ARE THEY NOT TELLING ME?

"Avril Perri.: Marcus calls. I take in a deep breath to calm me. I take the knife, which is cool to the touch. I rest it above my palms and cut it, which stings slightly. I hand the back to Marcus and I cup the blood in my hands. I walk over to the gray stones and lit coals, just like Beatrice, stand in the middle. I am brave, I am strong, I am dauntless. I think as I let the blood fall and sizzle on the coals. My life forever is now choosen.
