André meandered into the hallway the next day feeling a myriad of emotions: exhilaration, apprehension, adrenaline-filled; he couldn't decide which was more potent. Before he gave Tori a lift to school, he'd texted Jade, asking her to meet him in the music room. Choosing to meet in the music room had meaning: it was where André first realised he had feelings for Jade.

Tori and André leaned back against the lockers. Tori was still half asleep, and although André didn't get much sleep either, he couldn't stop fidgeting. Anticipation had gotten the best of him; each time he checked his digital watch, it seemed like time was standing still.

"Whoa, André. How much caffeine have you had? You're bouncing about like a deranged kangaroo." Tori said.

"I'm just nervous!" André checked his watch for the hundredth time that morning. "I'm gonna go to the music room now anyway; Jade'll be here any minute."

Tori averted her eyes to down the hallway, after becoming aware of the giggles of a certain red-head.

"More like right now."

Walking alongside Cat was Jade. Cat was skipping and laughing and babbling something to Jade, who did not seem the least bit interested in what she was saying. Jade was dressed in a black leather jacket with matching boots; a layered black skirt; ripped, laced leggings; and a black camisole with red details. André noticed that she was wearing different hair streaks than unusual; he wondered if it was because she was meeting just him. He stood admiring her beauty for a moment, when he realised that Jade was actually there!

"Ah! I gotta go!" He yelled to Tori, already halfway down the hall.

Cat and Jade were making their way over to Tori, who was starting to drift off again.

"Can I come? Can I come? Can I come? Can I come?" Cat asked Jade.

"No." Jade responded.

"Whhhyyyyyy?" She whined.

"Because, André said he wanted to speak with just me."

"Plleeeaaasseee!"

Jade was about to scream at Cat, when she noticed that Tori's eyes were closed. An evil and mischievous thought crossed her mind. She pulled out a pair of scissors and edged towards her hair...

"Don't. Even. Think about it." Tori said, eyes still closed.

Cat giggled.

"Oh come on. You would've looked nice bald." Jade remarked. Cat continued to giggle. "You want a hair cut too, Cat?"

"Eeeck!" Cat squealed and covered her hair in defence.

"Shouldn't you get going, Jade? André's waiting. I think he'll explode if you don't go to him soon."

"Yeah, I'm going now anyway- and why will André explode if I don't go to him soon?"

Tori realised that she shouldn't have said that. "Uh- 'cause, er, he's very impatient."

Jade looked sceptical, but had had enough of talking to Tori and Cat so made her way to the music room without a parting word.

"Bye!" Cat called as she waved goodbye to her. "Well, looks like it's just you and me Tor-"

Tori was fast asleep.

"Oh, then I guess it's just me and me!" She giggled to herself.

Just then Beck and Robbie approached Cat.

"Hey Cat!" Robbie called.

"HIII-" Cat then remembered that Tori was asleep. "Hiiiii! I'm glad you guys are here; I'm not very good company."

"What's with Tori?"

"Oh, she's asleep!"

"Yeah... I got that." Beck said slowly. "Anyway, where's Jade? I need to talk to her."

Stirring, Tori absentmindedly mumbled something in her sleep.

"She went to the music room to meet André."

"Oh, okay. I'm going to head there now. See you guys later."

Beck walked away as Cat tapped Robbie on his shoulder.

"Hey Robbie." She began.

Robbie's eyes perked up. "Yeah Cat?"

"Promise you'll never let me go bald?"

Pacing around the room, André practiced in his head his conversation he was going to have with Jade. Not what he said- he'd already got it all planned out in his head; it was like writing the lyrics of a song, it came naturally for him- but rather how he said it. He didn't want to sound too desperate, too nervous, too-

André was knocked from his thoughts by a raven-haired girl entering he room.

"Hey Dré."

"Hey... J?"

Jade tilted her head slightly and furrowed her brow.

"That sounds terrible. Don't call me that. I'm calling you Dré though; whether you like it or not."

"Cool. So uh, I needed to talk to you about... why don't you take a seat."

Jade pulled up a chair and André sat next to her.

"So, Jade... I've been wanting to tell you this for a while: we've known each other for a long time now, and I think we've always clicked, we've always been friends but, I want us to be something more than that. I think you are an amazing girl. I would love it if we could go out sometime... would you want to?"

Not answering André's question, she sat there in silence. A doleful look engulfed her visage.

"I get it. You don't like me like that. I better just go." André said sorrowfully as he got up to leave.

"André, wait." Jade said as she grasped André's hand, stopping him in his tracks.

"Sit down." Jade commanded.

Doing as he was ordered, he sat back down, looking desireingly into her eyes.

"Listen, you are the only person that I respect in this entire school. You're the only person I see as... a friend. You're an amazing guy but, I don't see you in that way. Sorry."

Dejected, André sighed. "Nah it's okay. I can't force you to have feelings for me."

Jade placed her hand on his. "Thanks for understanding."

"No problem."

The pair sat in a silence for a while. It was becoming increasingly awkward. The only sound they could hear was their own breathing. It became almost too much for them to bear.

"I should go."

An indescribable expression washed over Jade's face as she got up to leave; but somehow, André knew exactly what it meant.

"Jade."

She was almost out of the room. "Yeah?"

André knew he was treading on thin ice with what he was about to say; but he needed to know for sure. "You're still in love with Beck, aren't you?"

Jade stared at him, expressionless. She left.

Although Jade didn't give her answer, he knew it was 'yes'.

Last night, Beck realised he'd made a huge mistake. Looking through old videos on TheSlap, he came across one of him and Jade. It was 'Beck and Jade's relationship advice'. We never actually got round to giving any advice he thought with a small laugh.

He clicked play.

When the video had finished, he yearned for more. Watching just one video of the pair avalanched into watching all of their videos. Then it hit him: he shouldn't have broken up with Jade.

Well, this wasn't the first time he'd wondered if he'd made the right decision. He'd often thought about it, but pushed the thoughts aside, unwilling to let his emotions get the best of him. Breaking up with Jade was the right thing. Neither of us were happy together was what he always told himself.

Maybe they weren't, but a sneaking suspicion slowly slithered up his conscience that they could've worked things out. Maybe-just maybe- they could've tried a bit harder to make it work rather than complaining and arguing all the time.

So after watching all their videos, that's when he realised he needed to try again.

He was coming up to the music room where Jade and André were, like Cat said. Beck was sure André wouldn't mind if he asked him to be alone with Jade for a bit; he would understand, he's his best friend.

Approaching the door, he could already start to hear their conversation.

"-we've always been friends but, I want us to be something more than that now. I think you are an amazing girl. I would love it if we could go out sometime... would you want to?"

Beck stopped dead in his tracks. His hand just inches away for the ajar door.

A sudden blast of dread hit his core. He'd never imagined André falling for Jade; Beck had always thought he was intimidated by her. Now the once chance he had at getting Jade back could be irreparable.

Jade didn't reply. Beck held his breath, waiting for her answer.

"I get it. You don't like me like that. I better just go." André said sorrowfully.

Relieved, Beck leaned back lightly against the wall and sighed softly. He still had a chance. Still, he felt bad for André; but in all honesty: getting back with Jade was more important to him.

Remembering André was going to leave the room, he swiftly hurried back down the corridor.

"André, wait."

Whipping around, Beck peered through the crack at the door. His eyes widened. Jade did like André back.

He stormed away; his heart shattering into miniscule fragments; shattering over and over again, until, Beck felt he had no heart left.

He would never love again.
