A/N: Here's another random one-shot. This one is when the twins were younger. I think it's kind of cute. :)

"Kaoru, come on!"
"No, nii-san. I don't wanna."
They were four. They were at the playground. Hikaru wanted to go on the slide, but Kaoru was scared. Kaoru had always been the one who was cautious, hesitant. He always thought things through before doing anything. Hikaru was the one who rushed headlong into things, and it was always Kaoru who got him out of trouble even when they were older.
"Otouto-chan, why not?" Hikaru frowned and pouted, but Kaoru shook his head. He glanced up fearfully at the slide. It was a long way up, and if he fell…it would hurt.
"I-I…just don't want to…. Let's go play on the swings, Hika-chan!"
"You're scared, aren't you?" Hikaru asked, giving his twin a quizzical glance, ignoring the last thing Kaoru had said. Kaoru shook his head and replied loudly, "No!" But Kaoru knew better than to think he could lie to Hikaru.
"It's okay, Kaoru…don't be scared. I'll be with you!" With that, Hikaru took Kaoru's hand and led him over to the slide. "I won't let anything happen to you, Kao-chan."
Kaoru looked fearfully up at the slide, then over to his brother who was smiling reassuringly. Kaoru felt his fear disappear, and he realized he was safe as long as he was with Hikaru. "Okay!" Kaoru smiled, nodding.
They both climbed the stairs to the slide, Kaoru right beside Hikaru. They even went down together, still holding hands.
"That wasn't so bad, was it?"
"No…" Kaoru smiled, tightening his grip on Hikaru's hand. "Let's go again!"

A/N: Umm, just pretend the stairs and the slide were really wide, that's how they went up together. Either that or they were reallllly skinny. XD
