A/N: First of all I would like to apologize that it took so long for this update, between school, the holidays, and life I just couldn't find the time. Second of all I would like to apologize to anyone who found an offence or felt Emma changed for another person, I tried to make it seem like she was just as excited and wanting of this and Regina just allowed her to embrace it, I would never advocate someone changing for someone else. Always be who you are, if someone else doesn't like it, they aren't worth it! Now on to the details of the fic, I will be continuing into their date, but it may be a series of one-shots after that if I decide to add on to it. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read this fic and comment!
Emma walked into her apartment after a long and boring day at the Sherriff's office in a complete state of panic. "Henry it's Friday and you still haven't told me your genius plan, I don't think I will have time to set anything up at this rate, no matter what your plan is. We will have to improvise and your mom will know that it's last minute and scold me and then she will just leave and I have never planned a date for a queen and I can't breathe!" Henry rolled his eyes at his mother, "You can't breathe because you didn't take a breath through that entire rant and calm down, I told you I would take care of it. You said you wanted something with nature and horses above all else and I have just the thing." Emma gave him a look of doubt but sighed and sat down at the table any way, "Alright, let's hear it."
Henry smiled with a smug satisfaction at Emma's expression, "I told you it was perfect. Now go call her and tell her that you will be picking her up at six and to wear flat shoes." Emma continued to stare for a moment before she got up mumbling something about how she was supposed to be the adult around here. Emma picked up her phone and after hitting the call button began to pace. "Good evening Emma, what can I do for you?" Emma let out a shaky breath, "Regina, hi. Um I was just calling to let you know that I would be picking you up tomorrow at six for our date, um if that's alright." Henry mentally face palmed, so much for confidence, "That would be just fine, any special attire?" At the tone of voice Emma wanted to tell her anything the Evil Queen would have worn for seduction, "Uh just be sure to wear flats, but other than that you can wear anything." Emma sighed as Regina agreed and hung up. If just talking to her over the phone made her feel this way, she wasn't sure if she would survive the date, and maybe Regina had been right.
Emma stepped out of the shower just as Snow was coming in. Slipping on bright green boxer briefs, her black dress pants and a white sports bra she heard Snow open the bathroom door. "Emma! My goodness look at those abs, with all the bear claws I was sure you'd be flab under your clothes." Snow smiled brightly at her daughter, while Emma rolled her eyes, "Thanks mom that makes me feel better. Is dad at the stables getting the horses ready?" Snow nodded, "Everything will be ready, and you just concentrate on Regina." Emma took a deep breath and slipped into a white undershirt. Emma followed Snow out and finished getting ready; throwing on the black button up with the purple vest and tie she finished it off with the suit jacket and doing her hair. Down in the front room Henry looked up from the movie he was watching, "Ma, you look amazing!" Snow smiled and nodded, agreeing with her grandson. "Are you guys sure it isn't too dark?" Snow shook her head, "Regina has always been a fan of the darker colors, even in the enchanted forest, and I know she will love it! You're like her dark knight or prince! Oh Emma, I'm so excited for you! Now go to her, don't worry we won't wait up!" Emma rolled her eyes but offered her mother a bright smile gave her thanks and headed out the door.
As Emma walked up to Regina's door, she sent up a prayer that everything was ready and that Regina would not be disappointed. When Regina answered the door, Emma though she would have to pick up her jaw, or at least check for drool. Regina wore a deep purple colored dress that cut off just above her knees with flat black boots that went halfway up her calves. Her makeup was done in a smoky dark color. "Wow, Regina, you look beautiful." Regina smiled, "You clean up rather nicely yourself sheriff." In truth Regina had never seen Emma look so good. Emma offered her arm, "Shall we? I suppose you won't be opposed to riding in the bug, just for tonight? I put down a cushion and towel just for you." Regina chuckled, "if we must, but thank you for thinking of me." After opening Regina's car door, Emma climbed into the driver's side and handed her a blindfold. Regina looked at it with a raised eyebrow, "come on, humor me you will know where we are going if you don't wear it. At least let it be a bit of a surprise." Regina sighed but smiled and complied. Emma started the car and headed for the stables.
Once at the stables, Emma took the blindfold off and led Regina to the two horses that were tacked and ready. "Oh Emma, they're gorgeous." Regina reached out and petted the black horse with the white mane. Emma smiled and gestured for Regina to mount the horse as she did her own. However, Emma was not quite as graceful and almost fell off the other side of the saddle. Regina giggled while Emma mumbled, "Not all of us grew up riding horses." This only made Regina giggle harder. After finally situating herself Emma gave Regina a smile and led them off into the woods.
After riding for about half an hour, the two riders came to a clearing. "Oh Emma, it's absolutely beautiful." Regina felt tears in her eyes at the beauty of it all. There was a meadow full of flowers of all colors next to a small clearing at the side of a crystal blue lake. There was a single tree in the backdrop with white leaves. The sun was almost set and while it was a stunning picture, the faeries that adorned the tree to make a blue light were even more wondrous. Emma smiled and dismounted her horse, she held her hand out for Regina who took it and interlaced their fingers. Emma led her to a small spot under the tree where there was a basket sitting on a blanket.
Emma was grateful that this wasn't your typical picnic food, Snow, she assumed, cooked some type of chicken and pasta with potatoes and steamed broccoli, and the wine was an aged merlot. The date went off without a hitch, Regina seemed to really enjoy herself, they talked for hours and when the night grew chilly Emma offered Regina her jacket, which she graciously accepted. As the hour grew late, Emma stood and offered Regina her hand once more, "It's getting late your majesty I should get you home." Regina felt a shiver of desire go up her spine when Emma called her your majesty. As she grabbed Emma's hand she pulled the blonde woman to her and kissed her, when she released Emma's lips, she spoke her desire. "Make no mistake, I want this to happen again and I want to have something serious with you, but right now what I really want is to put an enchantment on the horses and magic us back to the mansion so I can have my way with you." Emma's eyes widened in surprise, she had not expected Regina to be so forward. Not trusting her voice she nodded. Regina waved her hand to the horses that started to walk back toward the direction they came and then a purple smoke engulfed the two of them.
When the smoke cleared they were standing in the foyer of the mansion. Regina leaned in close to Emma's ear whispering, "Thank you for a lovely evening, let me show you how much I appreciated it." After nipping at Emma's ear she pulled back and Emma grabbed her by the back of the neck and kissed Regina slowly. Sliding her tongue across Regina's bottom lip asking for access, which she was granted, their tongues met and danced slowly together for a while before Regina pulled back panting. "Let's take this upstairs." Giving Emma one final kiss, Regina grabbed her by the tie and led her up the stairs to the bedroom.
A/N: Sorry for the cliffhanger! I do plan to do at least one more chapter, a chapter of smut! I not only wanted to get something up since I haven't in a while, but I also wanted it to be separate in case someone feels uncomfortable with M chapters. Leave me reviews and let me know what you think, they make me happier than Mist Day meeting Stevie Nicks! (Awesomeness and cookies for anyone who gets this reference)!
