Warnings (Must Read): Jaune may act OC or like a jerk in this chapter. Don't worry, it isn't a recurrent thing. Nora, Pyrrha and Ren didn't appear in this chapter, a mistake on my part. Next chapter would include them and much needed character interaction and development.

Author's Ramble: I left some clues as to the nature of Minato's reincarnation in this chapter. Hope you will notice it and love it. And thank you lots for your love. I didn't expect this much response and I appreciate it. Hope you love this chapter. And remember, I have no beta so please ignore spelling errors. And also, this chapter is slightly longer than the previous one, 200 and something words extra. Yay!

THE YELLOW FLASH OF VALE

CHAPTER TWO – FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

If I was to die now, I would be the happiest man on Remnant.

Why? Well. . .

". . . uh, and you shall too, upon graduating from this prestigious academy. Now as I was saying, Vale, as well as the other three kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world. Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces. And that's where we come in. Huntsmen! Huntresses!" The professor paused to creepily wink at Yang, much to her apparent discomfort.

Dust! Kill me already.

"Individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves. From what, you ask. Why. . . the very world!"

"Eyyeahh!"

The whole class turned and stared at the random student who stood up to cheer out loud. He was quick to sit back down in embarrassment and fear. Who won't? Especially after I threateningly brought out a kunai.

Professor Port continued, his massive gait bouncing with each slight movement. "This is what you are training to become. But first! A story. A tale of a young, handsome man. . . me!"

Dust below.

I groaned, silently hitting the table multiple times in abject frustration.

"When I was a boy. . . "

I couldn't take it anymore. I laid my head down on the table, not eager to listen to the man ramble on about his life. And it wasn't only me in that boat. More than half of the class was, in fact. Only four out of the gathered students bothered to actually listen to the nonsense.

Something smacked against my head causing me to immediately rise up and release a confused, "what?"

"Ho! Seems like we have true huntsmen-in-training in our midst."

What?

"Well then, let's find out. Step forward both of you and face your opponent."

Both of us? I turned around, my gaze inquisitive. Who else wanted to. . . if the current retreating figure of one Weiss Schnee didn't clue me on the answer to my question, then I must be really dense.

I didn't need to change; a small number of my weapons was always kept on my person and the mesh armor won't be needed. Hopefully. With that in mind, I made my way to the center stage where I stood waiting near a suspiciously covered item. I didn't have to wait long before the girl came out, combat outfit and weapon at the ready.

The professor with a flourish not needed, removed the covering and broke open the cage with his weapon, whatever it was. And we stared at our enemy for the day, a Boarbatusk.

I made to move but was pushed aside by White who glared at me before rushing the Grimm. I raised an eyebrow at the gesture but opted to stay where I am. Until it is was suitably distracted, that's it.

Weiss struck out with her weapon, and I admit to small part amazement as a glyph blossomed from the tip of the rapier halting the Grimm in its charge. Utilizing the distraction, she flipped, striking out with her weapon, scoring a thin gash across its forehead.

The Boarbatusk rearing its head in anger managed to clip White sending her tumbling across the stage. That's when I entered the fray. Breathing out deeply while steeling my gaze, I threw one of my weapons.

The Grimm roared in pain, its paw coming up to remove the offending weapon from one of its many eyes. I didn't give it a chance to succeed.

With a twist of my wrist, three kunai left my hands. Time slowed to a standstill as I appeared in three places instantaneously; below its neck, across its back and between its hind limbs. Still in a crouch, I pocketed my kunai. I stood up, ignoring the silence that had enveloped the student body and the glare that the Heiress sent at me as she stood up, or the grin that the professor wore as he looked at me.

My semblance may be awesome, but it isn't like what I did was impossible, right?

-O-

I guess from the awe-filled face close to mine, my semblance is one of a kind.

"That was awesome!" Ruby squealed. "You were like. . . " she waved her hand in mimicry of the way I killed the beast, using wild and admittedly awful but cute karate forms.

"Hold on there buster," her sister, not cousin or girlfriend like I presumed earlier, came to my rescue, dragging her far from me and onto a chair likewise far from me.

"Yes, instantaneous teleportation is cool," she continued slowly once both were seated. "but. . ." she stretched the word. "Not as cool as mine!" she finished, exclaiming the last part while puffing out her chest.

"Yeah, I guess. But it is still cool, right Weiss?" Ruby conceded, before turning her gaze at the curiously quiet Schnee.

"Hmph." Who gave a non-committal shrug at the question.

This greatly worried the two sisters who couldn't figure out what was wrong with her.

For the first time today, Blake spoke out, her voice soft yet taunting. "She is still miffed about Port's class."

This got an immediate reaction from White, who bristled at the supposed accusation. "I am not!" she visibly tried to calm herself done, making her next words come out soft spoken. "Maybe, I am." she admitted before quickly adding. "But it's his fault."

She pointed at me.

"My fault?" I asked, incredulous at the notion of the Grimm spar being my fault.

"Yes, you. If you had just waited on the sidelines, or better yet, didn't raise your hand, I wouldn't have been upstaged by you!"

The confused frown that etched itself on my features certainly conveyed my feelings on the situation.

"I didn't raise my hand. I didn't even know when the man called out to the class. If I did, the situation would have played out far differently." I replied back, my voice calm and truthfully.

I continued before she could retort. "The only reason why I had 'upstaged' you was because of the need to end the confrontation quickly. I apologize if what I had done procured an unintended effect."

I stood, quickly putting as much distance as I could to Weiss. Though the words were delivered calmly, that didn't mean I was not angry. Thankfully, Fate had given me the right person to unleash that anger on...

-O-

"What a freak." The voice, disgusted and taunting, reached my ears causing my eyes to narrow.

I shook my head to dispel the thoughts of stabbing his heart and instead walked as silently as physically possible until I was behind the brute.

"You do know she is a second year with enough experience and skill to outmatch any of you."

I took a perverse satisfaction in the way all except for the rabbit Faunus jumped, she having heard my approach with her elongated ears.

"What do you want Arc?" The leader, Cardin if he remembered correctly, growled, in what he presumed as, intimidating.

All he achieved was projecting his saliva at my face. Disgusting.

Clearing the spit from my face with the back of my gloved hand, I said, "Would you mind not taking out your emotions on those you deem weaker than you."

Isn't that hypocritical? Yes. Did I care? No.

"What's it to ya?" He asked, his face scrunched up. In what? I don't know and possibly, do not care a bit.

"I hate bullies." I said, after which I reared back a fist and struck it impossibly fast at Team CRDL leader's nose.

I wasn't supposed to throw the first punch. But it's not like I cared about that at the moment.

The remaining three teammates rushed me, the Faunus forgotten immediately after their leader was sent flying.

The first one reached me attempting to clothesline me. 'Attempt' being the key word because before he could reach me, I grabbed his hand, striking out at his elbow before throwing him over me. I ducked underneath a punch and leaped a fair distance away.

Cardin groggily made his way to his team and assisted one of them in raising the downed one. Getting their bearings, they immediately rushed at me again, this time trying to back me into a corner.

I breathed out deeply and charged at them. Just as I was about to deliver the first punch to the first unfortunate guy to meet me, the door to the hall opened and a whip cracked against the air.

"What's the meaning of this?" Miss Goodwitch asked, her voice calm yet carrying an undertone of pain if provoked.

"Ma, we were on our own when-" Dove was cut short by the fist that contacted his cheeks.

Miss Goodwitch leveled a glare at me and seeing my unrepentant gaze sighed deeply.

"We have volunteers for the first spar." She concluded, her eyes roaming over the 'volunteers'. "And if I catch you or anyone using the hall or any place else to fight if it isn't a sparring ring, then you will have to contend with me. In. The. Ring." She punctuated each word with sharp cracks of her whip.

Another sharp crack heralded the exit of the Deputy Headmistress.

I raised an eyebrow at how nervous everyone seemed at the last statement.

Who wouldn't want to spar with Miss Goodwitch? It will be fun, right?

Somehow he doubted that train of thought.

-O-

"Begin!"

Two out of Team CRDL rushed me, the remaining opting to stay behind and wait for the right time to attack.

At least that's what I thought they wanted to do. For all I know, they just felt like sending their strongest to wither me out then the remaining would swoop in and end the fight.

Either way, I didn't care.

Okay, I have been 'not caring' ever since the episode with Weiss. From now on I will 'care'.

Was that sarcasm?

I didn't have time to find out as Cardin decided he wanted to crush me with his mace. I didn't want that so I dove to the side, rolling away with the displaced air.

Standing up, I said, "So, do you want me to take it easy on you?. . . " flipping backwards to avoid the thrust from the dual knives wielder, I landed in a split fortunately ducking a wild swing.

Still in a split, I cracked a fist against Russel's nut before rising in swift motion.

". . . Or should I hold back? Mm. . . " At this, I placed a hand on my chin, stroking it as I assumed a 'thinking'posture, my feet tapping rhythmically on the floor.

Cardin, now infuriated, charged at me, his mace held high. I shook my head and ran at him well aware of his three teammates that were enclosing around me.

Going to do something stupid, I decided.

The mace swung down and my hands went up. A smack resounded as mace hit flesh.

That hurt like a bitch.

Ignoring the pain, I pushed away the weapon and kicked at his sides, earning a grunt of pain from the larger teen.

I lashed out with my fist hoping it will bury itself in his stomach. I was surprised, however, when he used the shaft of his mace to block my attack before hitting me hard with his knee. It seemed that he wasn't completely useless.

Huh.

Going with the flow, I placed both hands on his still outstretched knee and lifted myself up, flipping over his body and landing behind him. Still in a crouch, I stretched out my leg and swung it in a low arc, downing the brute.

Throwing myself backwards, I avoided the halberd. Rolling with the motion, I flipped myself up, landing in a loose fighting stance.

Dove, Russel and Sky ran towards me, the former staying behind to support his teammates by shooting at me. Sky reached me first, twirling his weapon, he struck out with the blade which I dodged by leaping to the side. I leaped backwards to avoid the multiple thrusts from Russel.

I needed one of their weapons, preferably the halberd. With that determined, I decided to really fight.

I blocked a strike from the dagger with the back of my hand before lashing out with my leg at his kneecap. Russel screamed, swinging his weapon at me in blind fury.

I caught it with one hand. Dragging him forward as I moved slightly to the side, I brought my elbow down on his. He released his weapon with a pained grunt. Picking it as it fell, I slammed its butt at his temple, effectively downing him.

I hurled the dagger at his incoming teammate, Sky, before throwing myself to the ground, picking up the fallen pair of dagger and chucking it again at Sky.

He knocked it aside with the blunt side of his weapon but with his attention focused on the projectile, he didn't notice me until it was too late. But by then, he was already downed.

I twirled the halberd to block the relatively high rate of fire from Dove's sword and rushed him.

As I approached him, I couldn't help my thoughts deviating. Admittedly, the weapon in my hand was awesome. Do you think he will mind-

Focus.

With my thoughts occupied, I didn't see the blade until it was almost late.

'Almost' being another key word. I knocked the sword to the side with the flat of the blade, using its weight to ram it away. Casting my weapon aside, I lunged at him, grabbing him by the throat. Before he had time to comprehend the situation, I had lifted him off his feet and slammed him back to the ground hard.

A crater marked his landing site.

Rubbing my palms on my trouser, I looked at Miss Goodwitch wondering why she hasn't called an end to the fight. I have downed every member of CRDL. . . except Cardin!

A heavy object sliced through the air, ignited dust and then an explosion rocked the arena.

Everyone stood up, their breathing labored as they waited, anxious for the results of the explosion.

A breathe was exhaled deeply as the risen dust settled down.

Gasps ran through the assembled students and even the Deputy Headmistress couldn't help the sound that escaped her lips at the sight before them.

Cardin, a huntsman-in-training with strength matched only by a few, all girls, was held up by the throat by an oddly smiling blonde.

I sighed. "You didn't think you could defeat me, someone with more experience and skill you would never get even in ten lifetimes. Don't expect me to pardon your cowardice next time, kid. You are beaten. Yield."

The words that came out of my mouth were mine and yet wholly different. A part of me but yet at the same time, not. It was nice and calm though the situation called for the opposite. A far cry from the clusterfuck I call my emotions.

Cocking my head at his silence, I was relieved to get a reaction from him – a frantic nod. I had thought I had scared him to death. Nodding once, I released him, watching as he crumpled to the ground.

The match is over, but there is a matter of utmost importance to attend to.

"The winner is-" Her declaration was cut short by my rather abrupt departure.

. . .

Love it. Hate it. Liked it. 'Meh' it. Tell me all about your reactions to this chapter in the reviews. I know Jaune acted weirder than usual, sorry but its all part of the plan. Maybe, maybe not. I dunno. I am just writing what I feel like seeing I have no definite endgame yet.

WAIT! So I decided to answer this question from this guy.

Topicmate:

Fix this chapter and make it longer, the idea has massive potential but no matter the idea to a poor author it's wasted. Start with the very moment of reincarnation, either birth or early childhood to show Minato adapting to this world, that's rule number 1 to a good reincarnation fic, while not always a needed it's a good start.

Answer:

Truthfully, I have no idea whether it's a compliment or an insult. Maybe, it's both. But yeah, I get your point. At first, that was the route I wanted to take but it has been done countless of times. I like being different. I can do the origins later on as a flashback of some sort or maybe when Jaune tells his team about his problem. Sorry if this isn't what you expected.

And thank you once again to those that loves the story.

Next Chapter will be purely fluff. Jaune opens up to his team about the origin of his semblance and everyone learns Nora is unluckily lucky. Whatever that means. Find out in the, like stated earlier next chapter which will focus only on team JNPR.
