For a few hours, we talk about the pavilion, the battle grounds, and all the stuff for war and stuff. "So, do you have any information about your parents?" Annabeth asks as we take a break from the tour.
"Not really, all I know was that my mom was messed up as ever. However, my dad left me since I was born."
She nods, "OK, so that means your father is a God." She looks at me and smile, like she gets this all the time, "Yes, Pyper, your father is a God. We don't know who it is, but we just know it because you're a demigod."
"A demi-what?" I repeat.
"A Demigod, it means half god. Have you heard of the Greek Gods?"
My head tilts down a bit, "I never went to school."
"Well, this is going to be harder to explain."
Thunder booms in the distance, "Does it ever rain here?"
She shakes her head, "There's a barrier between the mortals and camp half-blood. Other people can't see this place, all they see is green patches of grass or valleys. It can't rain here, it never usually does." I nod to her, but soon I could see something else merging through those dark clouds.
Annabeth notices me and pats her hand onto my shoulder, "It's alright, you're safe, no one's gonna hurt you."
'Really, then how come I feel like something's after me, even at the safest place?'
Something loud and piercing, screams into my eardrums. I clamp my hands around them to shut the noise up. "Pyper, are you ok?" I fall onto my knees as the screaming becomes louder and closer. It was so painful, that I couldn't stand up anymore. The sound explodes into my ears, and I black out.
Into the darkness I fall, a giant hand wraps around me and grips hard. Trying to strangle myself out, it drags me down into the depths. I scream, sitting up. I look over to see Annabeth looking at me, worry.
"Thank the Gods that you're ok, Pyper." She said as she was perch onto the side of the bed. I look around to see white curtains and bed sheets. The nursery was quiet and peaceful. "Do you know what made you faint like that?" I shake my head, I swing my legs over the other sides of the bed. "Wait, you shouldn't be getting up, yet. You're still a bit weak from the pass out."
"It doesn't matter anymore." My head hangs down as I look into my hands.
"What do you mean?" Annabeth raises her hand to comfort me, but I move away.
"I'm not suppose to be here, even if I was, something about this place tells me that I'm not meant to be."
"Pyper…" her voice was distance, too faraway to even care. I got up and walk out the door. Fast walking away from the place, I bump into another boy.
"Whoa, hey, there!" I look up to see a sandy hair guy with an ugly scar across his face. "Where you going in such a hurry?"
I back away from him as he looks fully at me. "It's alright, I'm Luke."
He takes out his hand for a handshake, but I leave him there. He draws it back and asks for my name. "It's Pyper."
Luke nods, "Do you like camp half-blood, so far?"
"What's there to like? I guess its ok. I'm just overwhelmed by this place."
He smiles, "Heh, you'll get used to it."
"How did you get that, scar?" I ask him, it seems quite personal to ask about some one's personal things.
His face darkens, I could see that there was something hiding behind those shadows. "It's a long story. Anyway, do you have any idea on who your parents are?"
"Nope, my father left me since I was born. What about you, what's your story?"
"Herms." That simple name was as dry to hear. I guess he doesn't like his father the way he says it. It was all he said, no background story, nothing, but his name.
"Pyper! There you are, please don't run off like that again." Annabeth says as she catches up with Luke and I. She blushes as she sees Luke who just waves at her. Then another guy comes out from behind us, "Percy, what are you doing here?"
"Just looking around at the new arrival." He says as he just smirks at her. Percy looks down at me, and into my eyes. But something didn't happen that usually happen. He didn't flinch, shrink, or cower at my eyes.
"Pyper, it's nice to meet you." I nod and Percy leaves us alone. Something is different about him, I do wonder why.
"Well, dinner is starting. After that, it will be the campfire." Annabeth says once everything was set. My eyes were still traveling at Percy's spot, while Luke says his goodbyes. "Come on, Pyper, it's time to go." Annabeth gestures for me to come with her to the pavilion.
"I'm not hungry." I walk away, leaving her confuse.
"Wait, but aren't you tired? You should eat something."
"I'm not hungry." I repeat and left the area. 'It's exactly like knowing the problems that doesn't stir the right way. If I can't feel like I belong, then there's no point in even blending in.'
Deep in the woods, outside the barrier, the darkness moves closer. A shiver runs up and down my spine, giving me a chance to run away from this place. But everywhere I go, it seems like hope doesn't want to find me, and so I'm stranded.
I wander around the cabin neighborhood, looking if the house could be the one. But not every cabin sticks to my taste of homecoming. Until I reach three cabins, all of them, empty as if the cabins didn't take demigods. And all of them give me an aura that feels family like, meant to be.
"Pyper, what are you doing over here? Don't you want to eat dinner?" it was Luke, he comes up from behind me.
I shake my head, "Not hungry. I was just wandering around the cabins."
He looks up at the three cabins, "It's a big wonder if there's going to be any kids for these cabins. It's actually pointless to have these when only the Gods themselves aren't allowed to have any children." I look at him as he looks down and into my eyes. I could see that he does fear me, but he tries to stand up to the fearsome eyes. He looks away quickly, "Well, I guess dinner will be over quite soon, let's meet with the others at the campfire."
"Do I have to?" I whine to him, it was pretty oblivious that I don't like folk singing around a hot bon fire.
Luke smiles down at me and pats my back, "Don't worry, I hate it too."
