I found myself waking up inside of a hospital. All around I could here doctors, I tried to turn my head but was stopped immediately by a sharp pain in my neck. So I lay back into the hospital bed, feeling thoroughly defeated by the excruciating sensations in my neck. I stared, forlornly at the glaringly white hospital ceiling. The doctors were rushing around, saying things I couldn't understand.

"His body is healing at exponential rate!" remarked a male voice that I assumed belonged to one of the doctors.

"Then why is he still unconscious?" another voice asked. This one was female; maybe a nurse. I guess they hadn't noticed I woke up yet.

"So you're awake..." that voice... it couldn't have been a doctor, could it? I struggled for a minute, trying to move my head in order to find out who had spoken. "It wasn't a doctor." I heard it again! But, I wasn't so much hearing it, as I was feeling it.

"Who are you?" I asked the voice.

"He's awake!" one of the nurses exclaimed.

"Where are you!" I yelled. I could tell something was wrong.

"I'm inside of you." it spoke again. This time I could hear it more clearly. Though I still couldn't tell if it was a male or female that was speaking. I finally managed to adjust my head. I squinted my as a doctor began shining a light in my eyes. I tried to swat the light away but when I began to move my arm it exploded with pain.

"AARGH!" I screamed, more girly than I intended.

"Don't move! Somebody keep him still!" I looked down and saw several needles sticking into me. They were connected to various IVs. I noticed blood beginning to seep out from where the needles dug into me. Right as another doctor grabbed my arm and held it down, my blood suddenly darkened and recede back into me.

"I've stopped the bleeding." that voice, it's beginning to sound familiar.

"Yeah," I replied, "I can see that."

"Who is he talking to?" said the nurse from before. This caught my attention, I looked around and found that all of the doctors and nurses were staring at me, shocked expressions on all of their faces.

"Why can't they hear you?" I asked the voice.

"Like I said, I'm inside of you." it said, slightly agitated.

"But where?" I asked, now becoming less astonished, and more annoyed.

"In your blood!" the voice was now very annoyed. "Haven't you noticed the tingling in your veins?" Damn, she was right! I hadn't noticed until now but every time she "spoke" my blood tingled! Not just in any one area though, I was feeling it everywhere, my capillaries, my arteries, and especially my heart. Wait a second, she? Yeah, now that I think about it, the voice was really starting to sound female.

"Dammit!" I exclaimed rubbing my head from a beginning headache, "This is really getting annoying!"

"That's it!" a doctor exclaimed, "We're putting him under!"

"What does that mean?" the voice questioned.

"It means they're going to drug us and put us to sleep." I answered... her, I guess. Just then one of the nurses took out a syringe, filled with what I guess was the drug, began advancing towards me.

"Now don't worry sweety," she cooed, "This isn't going to hurt a bit." I began to try and argue that I didn't need it, but I didn't say what I wanted to.

"Stay the hell away from me!" we screamed, I say 'we' because that's who spoke, the voice and I at the same time. "You aren't going to touch us with anything!"

"Son, calm down." a doctor said. "We aren't going to hurt you, we're just gonna give you something to calm down." I didn't listen though as I began thrashing around in the bed.

"Nurse Betty!" another doctor began, "give him the sedatives now!" The woman holding the drugs, nurse Betty I guessed, whom had been just standing in place since I first screamed out at her. She began advancing again, much more slowly, with a fearful look in her eyes.

"You should be afraid of us." we stated. She kept advancing, though much slower now. "If you know what's good for you, you'll stop." She was finally standing just to my right. She took one big gulp, then began to lower the needle to my arm. "I warned you." we said. Right as the tip of the needle touched my skin, my arm shot out, completely by instinct, shoving her.

The thing was though, I was holding myself back with that shove, but instead of going a couple inches back, she flew across the room, slamming her head into a table and slumping to the ground, unconscious. The needle flew out of her hands and stuck one of the doctors in the neck, who then blinked, then fell and passed out. The last doctor stood there, staring at me, a worried look on his face.

"I warned you what would happen." we growled as I felt the needles being pushed out of me. After they fell to the ground I slowly began to stand up. "And now... now it's your turn." we said in an oddly soothing voice. He shrunk down into the corner of the room as we walked slowly towards him.

"What the..." the doctor stammered, "What the hell are you?" we chuckled at this question. We finally stopped, towering above him. My hands grabbing his face, my nails digging into his skin, his body slowly looking more and more pale and drained.

"What are we?" we mocked, whispering into his ear, "We are your worst nightmare..."
