Welcome to the first chapter...let's begin...
Chapter 1: I Am All of Me
(Daniel's Point of View)
Day 1, Month 1, Year 1
I have a REAL headache...where the HELL am I? I look around...grassy field...definitely morning-time...I look down...
...HOLY SHIT, I'M A 10 YEAR OLD! DAFUQ?! I enter Flyff...AS A 10 YEAR OLD?!
Oh PLEASE don't tell me my upgrades or more importantly, my mind, have been affected! Think...THINK...
...Ok, ok...looks like everything's still intact...KEEP IT THAT WAY! So...I am a 22 year old...in a 10 year old's body...with a Mage Manakete Form, Alteran Knowledge and Nanites, Borg Knowledge and Cybernetics, Protoss Psionics, Zerg Biology, and Species 8472 Biology...this...is...weird...alright...
Now, as powerful as all this stuff'll make me, I'll probably DIE if I merely rely on it...Maybe I can...I concentrate on the Symbiotes from Marvel and focused my nanites, both Alteran and Borg...
GAH! OW! OUCH! AHHH! My body...feels...weird...like my body's being twisted...Ok...ok...the pain's subsiding...Ok...now...how am I gonna test and see if this wo-VIOLET MAGICIAN TROUPE MEMBER ATTACKING! Oh no...it's coming...wait...I needed something to test this on...and this thing IS evil...
Ok, concentrate...concentrate...HOLY SHIT, TENTACLE-SPEAR THINGS OUT OF MY BACK! Ok...SPEARING THE MAGICIAN! GOT IT! It's frozen...now...what am I-
HOLY SHIT, ARE MY SPEARS CONSUMING IT! THEY ARE! Aaaaand...the Violet Magician...is gone...I just ate it, and...
OH SHIT, THE KNOWLEDGE! THE MAGIC! Did I just...absorb its knowledge and abilities...holy shit...this is overpowered as HELL!
Ok, there's the magician's staff...well...he ain't gonna need it anymore...Ok...gonna have to get moving and find a place to say...don't wanna get into the city...Ok, let's look around...
...Hmmm...wow, a cave I don't remember being there in the game...maybe...let's go...
This cave is FULL of Masquerpets! I've been hunting them down for over an HOUR now! The inhbitants consisted mostly of those found in the Ivillis Dungeon, but the layout is so different that I know it can't be, even if everything seems larger: guess the continents would be bigger than they are in-game if they're CONTINENTS! So, I've consumed a Poisoner, Wrecker, and Destroyer, as well as harvested components from a Crasher and both Red and Black Otems. I've also consumed a Mushellizer, and...
"And THIS is for looking like one of those damned Violet Magicians, ashat!"
...a Dandysher.
Now, I've gotten a bunch of Masquerpet knowledge, and something I discovered startled me. I once wrote a story on a Flyff Forum, called Flyff: The War on Shade, of which, I only completed story one: Secrets of the Mia...Looks like my story wasn't far off: the Mia WERE girls that were turned into Mia...this was something touched upon on the game, yes, but according to my story, the most powerful of those Mia were thousands of years old when they were turned, and, supposedly, that's the case here. Note to self: when I get myself established, go all Nelve Karoth on the Mia...as in find a way to turn them all back into humans...
"Nidia! Look out!"
"Barron! HELP!"
Adventurers?! Well, it makes sense for them to be here...but this certainly complicates things...should I show them myself? Hmmm...maybe I don't have to show them myself, per se...Thank God I chose the Mage Manakete...Ok, where is...THERE'S MY DRAGONSTONE! Now, let me concentrate...and...I'm a Dragon again...HOLY CRAP! I LOOK LIKE A MOONVEIL DRAGON VERSION OF ANTI-VENOM!
...SWEET! Now, to go in and...BASH THROUGH THE WALL! I see them: a Male Blade and a Female Ringmaster. They're being attacked by a swarm of Puppets and Boxters, and now they look at me with fear...Looks like I might end up attacked if I don't DO SOMETHING!
"What up, Masquerpets?! Already consumed some of your number...time for a little more!" I fire some of my tentacle spears at some of the Puppets, aiming specifically for those attacking the female. They both looked in shock at me...but still eyed me with suspicion...yeah, not gonna convince them until ALL of these things are knocked out.
I continue attacking, now switching to my Breath Weapon. "Mage Dragon Breath: Goetia Wave!" I announced, just for the heck of it, before releasing a wave of potent Dark Magic. The wave swept over several Boxters, annihilating them. Suddenly, another Boxter lunged at me, and...OW, LITTLE FUCKER IS CLAMPED TO MY ARM (eliciting a gasp of shock from the others). The Ringmaster seemed ready to come my way, but I turned to the Boxter after I dislodged it from my arm. "Alright, you asked for it!" I charged more Dark Magic. "Mage Dragon Breath: Nosferatu Conduit!" The attack struck the Boxter, which shriveled up, as its bite wound closed up. I looked up, the other 2 looking up, once more, with shock, this time mixed with horror. However, we noticed there were only a few more Puppets left, which I knocked down with a sweep of my tail, before using another Goetia Wave to eliminate them. Finally, the room was silent. The adventurers stared at me, I stared at them...no one did anything...until...
"What...are you?" the Blade asked.
"I am quite a many things...the main one being a Mage Manakete," I replied.
"Manakete?" the Ringmaster questioned.
"A form of Dragon, which also possesses a human-like form, that allows them to fit in, in human society," I explain.
"Can we see your human form?" the Blade asked.
"I'd rather not...makes me look younger than I really am..." I state plainly.
"And why is that an issue?" the Ringmaster asked.
"I mean it, it makes me look WAY younger than I really am..." I stressed, "As in, I don't want you questioning my presence here..."
The duo looked at each other, and just shrugged. "All...right..." the Blade said, "So...why ARE you here, anyways?"
"I'm looking for a good location to set up my lair," I stated, "And I was considering here...you know, once I cleared out all the monsters..." The duo looked at each other nervously. Before they said anything, I then said, "And I'd like to request you keep quiet about it: I'll come forward eventually, but...I really can't have people intruding on this place..."
The duo continued watching each other nervously...before the Blade finally said, "All...right...we'll keep quiet about it...but...the moment you start hurting people...we'll be telling..."
"The only people I'll hurt will be any who intrude on my domain, with the intention to bring harm to me..." I assure them.
The duo nod to each other. "Alright...we'll...see you around...maybe?" the Ringmaster asked.
"Likely, I'll be coming to town once in a while, when I get established here..." I reply.
The duo nodded...and left.
Finally, I turned back to my humanoid, child form, and looked around, before using my Psionics to scan the tunnels. Looks like that last battle drove out the last of the Masquerpets from here. I smile deviously. "Excellent," I said to myself, "Time to begin taking this place over..."
In the chamber I met the duo in, I used my Psionics to create a Zerg Hatchery, and in another chamber, started a planetary version of the Species 8472 Mother Organism. Finally, in the center of the facility, I made a hybrid Alteran/Borg computer core, complete with Alteran Repository and Borg Vinculum. By the time I finished the Vinculum, the 'Mother' was finished, telepathically announcing, "Evolution is Complete..." and I began creating 2 Species 8472 individuals (or 'Undine', as they're called in Star Trek Online). While waiting for them, I began on the Repository, and I finished it as the Mother announced once more, "Evolution is Complete..."
The twin tripedal beings approached me as I finished the Repository. "What is it that you require?" the duo asked telepathically.
I nodded to them. "I could use some help setting up some manufacturing facilities in some of these chambers," I replied, telepathically communicating what I wanted where.
"It will take some time, and some resources, to produce these," one of them commented.
"I know, I plan to have the Mother produce an Active and Passive Embryo, to create a Collector and Transmuter," I replied, "Then, we should be able to get some resources."
"Those would be our space-based mining units," one of the Undine commented.
I nodded. "I'd rather us get our resources from here, or offworld, than take it from the other people around here. Now, could you please get started.
"We will comply," they replied, before moving off to get to work. I had the Mother begin production of the Active and Passive Embryos, as well as another 3 Undine Embryos, before moving to check on the Hatchery. Running my hand over the still-growing Hatchery, taking in the warm feeling of love and affection coming from it...then I remembered: the warm sensation I felt back in the Void...now that I concentrate, I can feel another Zerg...no, SEVERAL other Zerg...somewhere out in the world...I have to find them before they do something wrong...
I was interrupted by a bursting out, and the Mother communicating, "Evolution is Complete..."
The 3 Undine, and the 2 massive, slug-like Embryos approached. "What do you require?" the 3 Undine communicated to me.
"Take the Embryos outside. Have the Active Embryo evolve into a Collector, and the Passive Embryo into a Transmuter. Once they're finished, have them move off, and begin mining surrounding worlds and moons," I order them.
"Very well, we will comply," the Undine replied, before taking the Embryos out to do their job...and as that happened, I felt a massive wave of emotion and love strike me. Returning to the Hatchery Chamber, I found the Hatchery, completely developed and ready to go. Holy shit, It's been 12 hours already...damn...
Already, Larva were growing inside and the Creep began to spread...the Creep was spreading...Oh shit, I forgot about the Creep...
...And I just remembered I forgot about my Alteran and Borg Knowledge and Undine Bio-Engineering Knowledge: I could EASILY fix that, once I get an Evolution Chamber. I ordered 2 of the Larva in the Hatchery to evolve into Drones, while the 3rd became an Overlord, and while that happened, I returned to the Mother, and had it create more Passive Embryos, and 3 more Undine. By the time I got back to the Hatchery from ordering that, the Drones finished. I ordered one into a Spawning Pool, and the other to begin scouting out for, and mining, viable minerals from the cave walls. I was then thinking, realizing that, based on this hud, the Zerg economy deals in 'Bio-Energy'...exactly like Abyssal Angel's story...so...DAMN IT, I NEED THE SUN TO GET RESOURCES! I sigh, wondering how I'm gonna get-
"Evolution is Complete..."
HOLY SHIT! Ok, ok...I immediately message the new Undine. "Gather the corpses of the enemies I'd killed, and drag them to the Zerg Hatchery. Dump them into the Bio-Energy pool in it."
"We will comply..." Soon, the Undine began dragging in the corpses of the organic Masquerpets I killed earlier, and dropped them into the Hatchery's Bio-Energy Pool. I hoped that, when the time came to get Bio-Energy, this would result in some extra coming in...I'll need all the Bio-Energy I can get, until I grow outside the cave...and before that, I need to make my Creep NOT consume everything in its path. And for that, I needed an Evolution Chamber and extra Bio-Energy. That meant A: waiting until I get additional Bio-Energy, and B: collect additional Bio-Energy to afford the upgrade.
"Evolution is Complete..."
"Wait...what the-"
"The Transmuter and Collector are complete, and are rising into the sky. We were set upon by Magicians clothed in Violet, and humanoids wielding hammers much larger than themselves," one of the outside Undine stated.
"Alright: drag the Magicians and all but one of the Hammer-Wielders in, and drop them in the Bio-Energy pool. Take the extra Hammer-Wielder and give it to me," I ordered to the Undine outside and those that gathered the bodies in the cave, "Then, I want the 6 of you guarding the cave entrance. Anything that does not even LOOK intelligent, destroy them, and drop them into the Hatchery Bio-energy Pool. However, if they resemble a human female of...this variety..." I telepathically sent an image of a Mia. "...try to dissuade it from approaching, or, failing that, capture it alive...I have plans for them."
"We will comply," the Undine replied, and soon, in teams of 2, they began dragging the corpses in. I REALLY hoped this resulted in a TON of Bio-Energy when the time came. Once the preparations were set, and I used my Symbiote abilities to consume the Jack the Hammer, I walked to the exit of the cavern, and walked outside. Looking around, I saw that it was in the middle of the night...Fortunately, the Alteran portion of my mind, mixed with the Borg portion, allowed me to approximate the completion of the Hatchery at just about midnight...like with Abyssal Angel, I'll likely be getting my Bio-Energy at midnight...huh...well...that's...unusual...
I decide to walk back into the base, and I enter the Vinculum/Repository room. Inside, the Borg tech spread a little from the Vinculum, but not far, and the spread seemed to taper off, as though it nearly spread as far as it was going to. I sat down, near a terminal I'd set up, and thought.
Ok, what're my goals? I decide to record them in the terminal.
A: FREE THE MIA!
B: Find the Zerg units scattered across the world, and bring them to my base
C: Evolve the Swarm
D: Evolve my Borg Tech
E: Evolve the Undine
F: Enhance my understanding of Magic
G: Consume one of EVERY Masquerpet (bar the Mia, unless it's a corpse)
H: Establish a base on each continent
I: ULTIMATELY kick Shade's ass back to the abyss she came from, and determine if there's interstellar civilization here
-I-1: If it's friendly, make peaceful first contact
-I-2: If it's hostile, take my Alteran/Borg/Undine/Protoss/Zerg forces and kick the living SHIT out of them
Note: ...I'm a very vulgar 10 year old...
Now that that's done, I guess I could use some rest...feeling tired...I mean, I still haven't started the Protoss stuff, but...hey, a thing to start with tomorrow...
Day 2, Month 1, Year 1
I woke up the next morning, wide awake, a drastic change from my normal mornings, since I am most CERTAINLY NOT a morning person. I went outside, and looked around. There was signs of a fight, but the Undine seemed to be alright. "Welcome, Grandmaster. We managed to defeat 8 attacks by the Violet Magicians and 4 from the Hammer-Wielders," one of the Undine communicated to me.
"Well done, and the Mias?" I asked.
"The human female-like creatures. They have not yet approached us," the Undine commented.
I nodded. "Alright. I have more work to do, carry on."
"We will comply."
I walked back into the tunnels, and found a massive, uninhabited chamber, probably the size of Onu-Koro from Bionicle. In there, I got to work on my next project: attempting to use Alteran and Borg nanotech, mixed with Protoss Psionics, to create a Protoss Pylon. I remember Abyssal Angel describing a means to create Protoss out of psionic energy and a Protoss Pylon, when we discussed our potential collab. I just...need...the means...to...AHAH! It's GROWING! The Crystal's GROWING! Come on! Just a little more...just a little more...AHAH! GOT IT!
There it is...the crystal for the Pylon...Ok...how just gotta finish the Pylon...Now...let me think...how would I do that...hmmm...
...Why is this so difficult to figure out? Dammit...Come on...think...
...I felt worry come over my mental link with the Zerg. The Hatchery must have sensed my mental exertion and grew worried. I sent over my reassurance and continued trying to figure this out. I decided to get up and wander around, maybe work on the Species 8472 facilities: the Collector and Transmuter reported finding metal-rich asteroids in the asteroid belt of the system, and they were already sending in Bio-Matter to spare...
...Extra Bio-Matter...I might be able to use that to enhance my Zerg Bio-Energy gain.
Anyways...I need a Passive Embryo, so I can evolve an Enhancer, as well as 2 more, for a Biogenesis Core and Metogenesis Core once then Enhancer is done. Once the larvae were finished, one moved off and began to evolve into a planetary Enhancer. I moved off to look around again...and again, I remember the Pylon problem. I go back to the pylon room, and, for what was probably a couple hours, I try to figure stuff out...to no avail. "DAMMIT!" I cry out, "How the hell am I gonna get these Pylons built, if I don't know how they're constructed?!"
"Maybe we can help..." I jumped and turned around...and my 2 Alpha Undine, the first 2 I created, were standing there. I mentally face-palmed: I never gave those 2 a job, beyond clearing the cave of all the Masquerpet corpses.
"What do you think you can do?" I asked them.
The oldest of the 2 Undine (by 10 seconds) cocked its head. "Isn't it typical human logic: two heads are better than one? And if that is true, wouldn't 3 heads be better than 2?" the Undine asked.
I thought it over...yes...maybe those 2 COULD be of some use in that department...
"...Alright..." I state, "Let's see what we can do: come with me, and let's see my artificial Khaydarin crystal..." I led the duo into the chamber that would become the location of the Protoss base. I then led them to the crystal, which levitated above the ground. "I'm trying to remember how a Pylon is made. With it, I can augment our forces with artificial Protoss troops. But first, I need to MAKE IT!"
"What does it do?" the Alpha Undine asked.
"It starts the Protoss psionic network, that powers Protoss buildings and supports Protoss troops," I reply, "Furthermore, with my psionics, and some Alteran stuff, I MIGHT be able to use it to also create Protoss...maybe..."
The Undine nodded, and approached the device. The duo seemed to think, before messaging, "We...might have an idea...would you be capable of recreating the crystal, if we make a mistake?"
I quizzically looked at them. "I...should...why?"
"Give us the data on what you know of this 'Pylon' and let us look it over. We might be able to come up with something..."
I thought it over...I really did need to take a longer break on this..."Alright...I'll upload what I have to the Repository and send it over to my terminal..." The duo nodded, and moved to observe the crystal. I went over to my constructed Repository, and activating it, uploading the data into the machine, before sending it to my terminal. "Alright, it's there..." The 2 Undine nodded to each other, while the younger of the two looked through the terminal's information on the device, while the older looked over my artificial Khaydarin crystal.
The older one turned to me for a moment. "Go and take a break...we will contact you when we have an idea..." I nodded, and departed, deciding to move off to take care of other things...
...Like one thing I just realized I needed to do: making my Intelligence Network. There were Zerg out there, maybe unique Zerg. and in order to find them, I'll need eyes and ears out in the world...I thought...then I remembered: Undine were able to shapeshift into people. I could send Undine out to begin adventuring. Not only would this give them experience in this world's fighting, but if one of the Zerg appear as targets in a quest, I could potentially make contact with it.
I move to the Mother and have it produce 4 more Undine...then I paused as I remembered something: aren't Undine born to...a...five-some? Undine have 5 genders, so...how...is this creature...producing them...
"They are but clones...created using DNA that is slightly altered each time..." DAFUQ! Where'd that female voice come from?!
Oh...right...Species 8472 structures and ships are organic living creatures...wouldn't surprise me if some of them, especially the 'Mother', was sentient..."Alright...so...I'd need one of each gender to have them produced naturally?"
"Yes...although there is little limit to how many can be created through this cloning, as long as new Bio-Matter, and therefore, new Genes, are collected."
"Ahhh...that makes sense...I guess: the new genes are to ensure that the Undine are all different genetically...so they technically aren't family?"
"Only those of the same...I would guess 'litter' would be the term...those that are evolving at the same time, like the first pair, and the 2 trios after them, each of them: the pair, the first trio, and the second trio, are genetically 'related' to each other, but one trio is not genetically related to the other trio, nor the duo."
"I think I get it...interesting..." I commented, "Alright then...got a big order this time, though: I need 5...do you need to do anything specific to make them viable Infiltrators?"
"No, why?" the Mother asked.
"Ok, then, nevermind..." I reply, before a couple things that have been bugging me come up, causing me to ask, "Alright...need 2 things. One: a name to call you by, can't call you 'that Mother', and B: why didn't you speak to me yesterday?"
"For your first comment...I honestly do not have one other than my numeral designation, which you probably don't want to use, preferring an actual name...you'd probably have to supply that. As for your second one...because you didn't ask..."
Great, I got the Mother of Sass...I roll my eyes. "Whatever...well...Nice talking to someone...I'll go take care of some other things outside." I moved to leave, and, watched the walls. I then realized that the Zerg and Undine sections of the caves took on their races' appearance: the Zerg sections were covered in Creep, while the Undine sections possessed tons of organic matter on the walls. It was...curious. I diverted course to the core of the caves, where I placed the Borg and Alteran tech. When I entered, I noticed the Borg half of the room was covered in Borg Technology, like I'd seen it before, but now it seemed the Borg tech had stabilized, keeping in its current area.
Now, what to do ne-
"Evolution is Complete..."
THE ENHANCER! That's right! "Alright, Enhancer, do you hear me?"
"I hear you..." the 8472 structure said, in a deep voice.
I answer, "Good, you're sentient too."
"Of course, for I am the one who researches the augments for the space vehicles..."
"Of course: I want you to begin researching all of your possible upgrades: we're getting Bio-Energy in droves, and since I'm only making one structure at a time, and no ships, I got nothing else to spend it on...that and we'll need these upgrades eventually."
"I will comply."
I then turn to the Mother telepathically. "Get one of the Passive Embryos on making a Biogenesis Core, then make 3 more Passive Embryos and another Active Embryo. Once they're done, have the Active Embryo and one of the Passive Embryos become another Collector and Transmuter. Have the remaining 2 follow the first 2 into space, and become a Mother Bioship and a Fluidic Gate."
"I will comply," the Mother states.
Alright...now...maybe I should...OF COURSE! I'll look to see if any of the Zerg are nearby...I'm REALLY gonna need an Abathur-type soon, so I hope that...AHAH! There's a Zerg currently in Ivillis Dungeon, to the South!
Now...how am I-
"Evolution is Complete..."
I grin. I send to the Mother telepathically, "Alright, change of plans: outfit those 4 for battle, and prepare another 5 for infiltration duty. I got a job for those first 4 tomorrow..."
"I will comply."
Day 3, Month 1, Year 1
Today was the day...today was the day I set out to Ivillis Dungeon, with my new squad of Undine Troops. First, I check over my new Bio-Energy supply: just enough for an Evolution Chamber! Yes! Now, to set up the Drone, and get it growing! Excellent! Should be done by the time I get back. I see the Undine Guards enter the room, dragging more Masquerpet Corpses. I messaged the Guard Captain again: once more, no Marauding Mias. Good. I tell him to tell me if any come by, and he says that he'll just do that from now on, so I don't have to keep asking...good idea...
One thing I note is how the 8472 also took the initiative and dug small vents above my Zerg Hive: small enough as to be unobtrusive outside...but large enough to allow the sun to shine on the Creep. With the Creep also ensuring structural integrity, my Hive can now generate ACTUAL Bio-Energy...AWESOME! I still have my Undine harvesting the Masquerpets, of course, now that my Evolution Chamber is on the way I have my Guards saving one of each race and subspecies for entering into the Zerg Genetic Archive, once the Chamber was grown.
Now I'm going to meet them, and ensure they're re-
"Ah, good that we caught up with you..." Hey, it's the Alphas. "We managed to determine a possible means of making a Proto-Pylon. It may not work entirely like the originals, but we theorize your creation of the Protoss may subconsciously implant the Protoss you create with the information needed to build them, and this Proto-Pylon should work. We already have a Passive Embryo preparing the Pylon now."
"Well...nice seeing someone showing initiative," I said, "So...why are you here?"
"We desire the chance to aid you here, in finding this creature," the Undine said, "And as such, we have suits of armor being readied for us."
"Hmmm...very well, get them, and the others, and meet me at the main gate," I stated, before moving to the Borg/Alteran room, which possessed Replicators, which I used to make myself a cloak: a pitch black one with blood red trim. I smiled: I always wanted a cloak, and this kind of design was EXACTLY what I wanted.
I moved to the entrance, and saw the squad had already arrived: the 4 newborns were dressed as the old Unit Commanders, and the Alphas, as the old Psi Master. I was impressed with the armor. I then noticed the Guard, who, like the old Recruits and Infiltrators, were buck-ass naked. I then said to them, "Go in in pairs and get some armor: Officer armor for the main guards, Unit Commander Armor for the Guard Captain.
"We will comply," they responded, and the first pair moved off.
Then, I asked the strike team, "Do these armor suits included ranged weapons?"
"They possess bayonet-equipped Fluidic Antiproton Wrist Lances," the Alpha said.
"Thanks...you know what, you guys need names..." The Undine looked at each other, then shrugged, before turning to me. "Ok, you will be...Alpha," I said, pointing to the oldest of the 2 Alphas. Turning to the younger one, I said, "And that would make you Beta." I then looked at the rest of the squad. There were 4 of them...like Clone Commando squads...I smirked. "Of, of you 4, who is in charge?"
The 4 newborns looked at each other, before one of them stepped forward. "Ok, you will be Boss." I looked to the others, and scanned their minds...sure enough, there was a Tech Expert-minded, a Demo-Minded, and a Ranged Combat-Minded one as well. I was practically laughing in my head. I turned to each of them respectively and said, "And you will be Fixer, Scorch, and Sev."
"Do, their names have significance?" Beta asked, myself just noticing the slightly-feminine tone of her 'voice' in my mind, "You seemed...excited...when you named them..."
I turned to the Undine Clones...hah, Clone Commandoes...Undine Clones...I got my own Undine Delta Squad. "Yes..." I said, smiling, "You could say they do...Now, are you ready?"
The Undine called 'Boss' stepped forward and...Hey..,HAH! I like these Undine! They understand! "Right away, sir!" the Undine 'says' in a voice that's EXTREMELY close to RC-1138's.
"Yes sir! We're ready when you are," the Undine 'Fixer' says in his namesake's voice.
"I'm ready," says Undine-Sev.
"Don't worry, sir: we got your back!" Undine-Scorch replies.
I look around, seeing the Alphas and Delta Squad. Then, I pull out my Magician's Staff, which I plan to replace later on (Maybe with a Wand, if I become a Psykeeper Analogue), then I announce, "Hah! Alright guys, let's ROLL OUT!"
The distance between my Headquarters and the dungeon was much further than in the game...then again, I guess it makes sense: the continents are MUCH too small in the game to be continents...So...we arrive, 6 Undine and a Manakete...hmmm, sounds like the start of one of those 'bar' jokes: '6 Undine and a Manakete walk into a bar...' LOL!
Anyways, entering the dungeon...and...wait, I know those two...it's the Ringmaster and Blade from the other day! What're they doing here?! No matter...looks like they need help! They can't take that Masquerpet swarm on their own! "Delta Squad, advance!" I order...loudly...Looks like the duo heard me, and look my way...in time to see the squad of Undine charge in and attack the attacking Masquerpets. They seem unnerved by my Undine...now they're looking at me...and...the Ringmaster's horrified.
"What're you doing here?!" she cries at me...oh, right, I look like a 10 year old...
"I'm here on a mission...an important one...and I should be asking what you're doing here..." I reply.
"Alright, kid, looks like we're going to have to take you back up to Sain City...your parents are gonna be-" I cut the Blade off...wow, the irony of that statement...lol...
"Alright, ya see, this is why I did NOT want you guys to see my human form before I grew up a little!" I snapped...before realizing what I just said...Shit...
"What are you talking abo-...Hold on...are you...no...no WAY! I mean...how is that-" the Blade begins to say, as I take out my Dragonstone. The Dragonstone shrouds my body in black mist, and a few moments later, the Mage Dragon form stands in its wake. "You have GOT to be kidding me!"
"'Fraid not..." I reply, "Like I said, I'm here on a mission...A creature attributed to me is in here, and I've come to find it..."
"It...might be related to our mission: reports say that a mysterious monster has appeared deep in the caverns: extremely intelligent, and has been making twisted versions of Masquerpets to defend itself. Our job is to eliminate it..." the Ringmaster states, "However...if you have a use for it...and we know you're no threat...and if you can get it to our side...we might be able to come up with how it disappeared, and why we shouldn't go after it again..."
"Sounds like a plan," I state, shifting back to my human form. "By the way, never introduced myself: name's Daniel."
"I'm Nidia, and this is my...erm...well...my fiancé, Barron," the Ringmaster stated. The Blade nods.
"Alright...good to meet you...alright, let's get down here...I hope my intel is right and the Zerg Creature is here...I REALLY hope it's an Abathur-type, and based on what you said it made to protect itself...it probably IS!" I was REALLY excited when I heard about the twisted Masquerpets: it just HAD to mean 'Abathur-type Zerg'.
However, Nidia and Barron just looked confused. "Uhhh..." was all Barron could say.
"Oh, sorry: Abathur-type Zerg are in charge of making new subspecies for a race called the 'Zerg'. I am actually 1/10th Zerg, and on my way to starting my own Zerg Hive. Soon, this region of Saint Morning will be free of the Masquerpets, allowing people to settle here once more!" I say triumphantly.
The duo looked shocked at my proclamation, before Nidia said, "I hope what you say is true."
"Don't worry, and if the creature we find here IS an Abathur-type Zerg, then my ability to knock the Masquerpets off their pedestal will be GREATLY increased! An Abathur-type Zerg is any burgeoning Swarm's best friend!"
"Alright...well...let's keep going, and get this creature out before someone else comes!" Barron says.
"Alright, let's go!" I call, "Delta Squad, advance!"
"Right away, sir!" Boss broadcasts to everyon.
The duo look dumbfounded. "Those things can TALK?!" Nidia exclaimed.
"Telepathically," I explain, "And yes, they can think. The ones without helmets are Alpha and Beta, the firstborns of my Undine. The helmeted ones are Delta Squad...who really need to paint their armor so people can tell them apart..."
"We'll get on that, once we return to Headquarters," Boss replied.
"Alright...now...if we're done stalling, let's MOVE!"
The team moved further into the cave and we began taking down more and more Masquerpets...until we came around where the Mushellizer would have been. Around there...we encountered the twisted Masquerpets...or rather, what appear to be Zerg counterparts of Ivillis Destroyers and Ivillis Wreckers. I sensed their wariness and closely-guarded status: I could feel their feelings, they WERE Zerg. "Zerg, we must be getting close!" I exclaim.
"So they ARE these 'Zerg'!" Bannon replies.
"I'll go first...they may not attack me, as I'm also Zerg, but if they do, I can take them out easily." I advance on them. The 2 front Zerg Wreckers begin to lung...then halt. They seem to stare at me for a moment, me feeling their confusion. Finally, they moved aside, and my companions advanced. The Wreckers seemed ready to charge, but I raised a hand, hoping they'd listen to me. They do. The others were allowed to pass by, and we all entered the Mushellizer's chamber...only, instead of a Mushellizer...
"Humanoid Overmind. Unknown variable. Partnered with various races. Hybridized with these races...Confusing..." It IS an Abathur-type Zerg! YES! CHALK UP ONE EVOLUTION MASTER FOR MY SWARM!
"Yes, I am Overmind. I am Daniel. What is your name?"
"Opothur," the Evolution Master replied, "Why are you here?"
"I came to get you: I need one with your skills in my Swarm. These two need to rid this dungeon of you. We hope that you can take up residence in my own Hive," I state. Just then, I receive a burst of affection: the Evolution Chamber has finished. "Ah, what do you know: my Evolution Chamber just finished."
Opothur looked around, and thought, and, after a few minutes..."Joining you: gain access to superior genetics...Offer accepted."
I smile. "Excellent. Let's get out of here! Delta Squad, let's go home!"
"Roger, sir!" Boss replies.
I turn to Nidia and Barron. "Thanks for your help, I can take it from here."
"Anytime, Daniel," Barron replies, "Hope to see you again."
"Don't worry, you probably will: I'll be sending out agents soon, so I can find additional Zerg that are scattered across the world. Just be careful..." I smile slyly, "From here on out, any stranger you see could be one of my agents...See you guys around. Everyone, let's go home!"
Well, that's the first chapter done.
Now, to any of you who want to complain that the Undine that Daniel created so far were 'too obedient', they're meant to be: they were created by Daniel, and I'm seeing it as, since he created them, they're loyal to him. However, they are independent (to an extent), as shown a few times, when they made intelligent decisions for themselves (such as when they only dragged in corpses in teams of 2, when assigned to guard the door, as to not leave the door unattended).
And one more thing: Before you guys gripe that story-me here is invincible...I hope to write a scene next chapter that...proves otherwise...*snickers*
