Worrying Moments
"How are we going to do this?" Harry asked worriedly as he allowed his horse half to be spooned by his mates own horse half. "Death is all around us, Wizards and witches are dying..."
"Remember that Dumbledore is also showing his true actions from the shadows like the true Dark Lord he is," Audrey said just as worried as Harry as she clinged to her stressed boyfriend. "It is as if both the Dark Lord and Dumbledore has forgotten that we are all only human."
"These two humans need to remember that all worlds draw to an end and the noble death is a treasure, which no one is too poor to buy," Bane said with a frown, concern for his mate and his two friends shining brightly in his eyes. "Death is something you greet and expect, not try to chase away or hide from or use against others. The war between these two Dark Lord's are pointless and should stop."
"If only everyone thought about this war the same way," Percy said as he gave the Centaur a depressed look. "We need to get away from here, we need to escape and find somewhere safe to go to. Do you think the goblins will help us? I know one goblin called Wormwood who-"
"Who turned out to be a traitor, Griphook found him stealing from ours and several others accounts for both Dumbledore's and his own profit," Harry said cutting Percy off, his horse tail twitched agitatedly. "Besides, even if we did run for it what would we do? I am only sixteen years old and still in Hogwarts, plus there is only so much I can do to hide the fact that my human form is only a glamour..."
"Would potions be any good?" Audrey asked thoughtfully. "I am sure that if I ask and give him enough incentive that it will work. That's it! I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse."
"I am sorry Addy love but...Well, it may be stupid, but it's also dumb," Percy said up straight only to wince at the sudden glare Audrey shot him. "I am sorry but Professor Snape's type of greeting is different for certain students."
Audrey looked between her boyfriend and the two Centaur mate's. "Really? But he has always been so nice to me."
"Maybe Audrey, but Snape's greetings to me has always been strained. He is the total opposite of an angel protecting you and encouraging you to go on," Harry said as he offered the teenager an apologetic expression. "Knowing Snape he would chose the path that would benefit him."
"From what you have told me this man is in the right house," Bane said as he placed a comforting hand on Harry's horse half back. "I pity this Snape man, he has no one but himself to look out for, no one else to protect and love. He has no one to offer him their strength and help when he can't stand or help him when he is losing an important fight."
"Maybe it is the best for Snape, then again with how he acts and what I know about the relationship he shared with my mother it looks like he has been hurt badly and does not want to be hurt again. Besides you all know the saying that my mother apparently favoured from one of those manga novels," Harry said as he allowed himself to fully relax into Bane. "When one sacrifices oneself to help another, it could actually be painful to the person being helped, especially when that person is of importance to them."
Silence rang out throughout the forest's hidden clearing as Harry's words echoed though their minds. As the midnight cold wind hit them sending shivers down the three younger ones in the clearing Bane found himself coming to a decision.
"Maybe...maybe this war can be decided not by war but by letters and communication," Bane said softly, gaining everyone's startled attention. "After all behind all of the fancy words and different ideas both Voldemort and Dumbledore wants the same thing."
Harry's eyes widened. "They both want to do the impossible and change the Wizarding world!"
End of Drabble.
