Awakening
Chapter 2
Sasami could feel a loud pounding against her ears as she attempted to decipher if her current situation was real, from the back of her mind she could still recall the blurred memory of a pair of glazed over lazy blue eyes that once seemed to stare right through her.
When she looked at the male infront of her, the piercing eyes that pooled into hers present were not the ones that she once knew.
These eyes were wide awake.
His eyes never left her own, and as they continued to stare Sasami could feel her pulse continue to accelerate.
Her eyes remained on his as if they were locked in place, and the world surrounding them darkened.
Slowly, a hand reached up and lightly touched her shoulder, Sasami could feel her body stiffen and goosebumps rise as it slowly began to move its way down to her waist.
He blinked curiously opened his mouth , his words came out softly,
"Who are you?"
She blinked back, though in wonder of her situation rather than response, she could hear the doubt in her voice as she spoke.
"I'm Sasami"
Her response cause him to narrow his eyes with an unreadable expression,
"You're not Sasami"
The words brought a light zap of surprise, worry clouded her mind as she hastily responded,
" Of course i'm Sasami, what do you mean?"
" Sasami was really tiny and happy, with really pretty long hair, you"
he pointed at her
" have shorter hair and aren't tiny at all, with really sad looking and confused eyes."
Sasami blinked,
and then began to laugh
she laughed at the simplicity of his words, and at how much she must have changed, and she found relief in her laughter, and comfort.
"Ami-chan you're still just as naive"
He really hadn't changed much, the aloof way of speaking was gone, his mind still seemed fixed on that of a small child.
Her laughter was cut short when she noticed how his body trembled,
"Why is it so cold? It wasn't this cold before..."
She looked over at the open window and quickly shut it
"It's always this cold in the mornings"
he looked confused
" but it's never cold"
Sasami paused in awe and prayed with all her heart that she was not dreaming.
"what do you call this?"
Amitav poked at the fruit Tsusaka had given away earlier in the week.
Sasami turned her attention from the refrigerator and looked at him with slight amusement
"i'm not totally sure myself"
She could see him pout lightly and she couldn't help but allow a light giggle escape her lips,
She grabbed the red fruit and cut it in half.
After taking a large bite out of one of the slices, she waved it infront of his face and spoke to him with her mouth full
"it's really yummy!"
Amitav grabbed the other half of the fruit and smiled at her
"If you like it, i'll like it too"
She rummaged through her dad's clothes, hoping her parent's wouldn't mind when then came back home from their "vacation".
Sasami tossed a pair of pants and a shirt at him,
"here, try this on"
He stared at them
"why must I put them on?"
It was a strange question, she stared at his attire,
Amitav's clothes must've been too thin for comfort, it was obvious that he wasn't dressed properly for the current weather.
"aren't your clothes uncomfortable?"
"My clothes..."
His sentence trailed off, and Sasami walked over to him.
Blushing she looked at him
"I'm going to close my eyes now so don't move"
She blindly fumbled with his shirt, feeling extremely self conscious of what she was doing,
a hand poked her cheek
"You're face is hot"
Sasami blushed harder and mumbled softly with a slight tone of embarrassment
"Who's fault is that?"
She slid her hands down until she could find the hem of his torso and lifted up the fabric, softly she instructed him to raise up his arms and swiftly slipped a different shirt onto him.
Sasami opened her eyes and stared at him as he looked down at his new attire with curiosity, a mixture of excitement and hope pulsed through her veins as she began to wonder how everything would play out from then on.
