Hey guys so this is very short because this chapter is suppose to be written in chapter 1 but anyways. So English is not my main language so I took it as a challenge to write an English story. Feel free to review. Ill be leaving a note on the end.
-Catch her, don't let her escape!- She ran as fast as she could down the alley still aware of the fact she needed to be careful not to run over anybody. Her lungs screamed for a much needed rest, but she couln't afford to stop. Lucy couldn't risk getting caught.
'Oh no' Her heart jumped in realization when she saw the road had ended up ahead. She needed to make a decision. And fast. Maybe a bomb could be a nice distraction and a resourceful way to escape or she could stop running and fight. She would rather use brute force than having a few burned limps.
She stopped in her tracks turning around slowly watching the guards catch up to her surrounded her quickly. They stood there agitated and ready to take her down at any moment.
-You never get tired of causing trouble, Heartfilia- A guard, maybe the leader, spat like she were the most foul thing alive. His eyes scanned her in suspicion, hand twitchy by his sword. Awaiting for her to make her move to kill her on an instant.
She clenched her fist in anger, her jaw tightened as she bit back an insult.
-Everybody needs a hobby, besides, admit I make you're job way more fun. After all, it must be boring to get paid for doing nothing- Her her lips fell into a smirk as she noticed the glow of rage appear in his eyes. Like a bull ready to strike. Never let your rage control over a fight. She mentally thanked being a loudmouth.
-You'll regret that- He barked to thrust forward with sword ready to strike the final blow.
Lucy easily manage to dismantle him from his sword and take his fist on a tight grip to turn her body in a half car wheel to tangled his neck around her legs in a another tight grip until life left his eyes and landing on a squat.
The fear in the other guards eyes didn't go unnoticed. She walked close to the men that laid dead on the ground and crouched looking at his lifeless eyes.
-That's what happens when you mess with a Heartfilia- To her satisfaction the guards back down, running away in cowardice, leaving her alone at last.
She allows herself to take a deep breath and feel relief. Her focused again in the man on ground, but this time on a little bag tied to his armor on the hip. Her hands wondered inside the bag, feeling and searching until a rough and soft object came in contact with her fingertips. She took a small look at the paper to store it in her bag. Standing back she started her way back knowing that for that day she didn't had to worry about being followed.
The weather degree dropped, making her shiver involuntarily. If she didn't speed up a bit, she'll freeze to death. She couldn't risk another day in that place. Bringing her hands to her mouth to give herself some warmth she continues her path down the small village.
The stares of the people around her settled on her, Which made her feel uncomfortable making her hide herself within her cloak. She keeps her pace almost making it out when she suddenly comes to a stop as she sees how a little girl struggles to find leftovers, even though there barely a few scraps of bread to call them leftovers. Outrage filled her chest as she sees the injustice in front of her eyes. The defenseless ones always suffered in consequence of the arrogance others. For a second she remembers herself, back when she was as miserable as this people. The only difference was there wasn't anyone to lend her a helping hand. For the people around her, she was just the exiled daughter of king Jude. No mather how much she begged for help, people would ignore her as she were rubbish. Worse then rubbish.
Not being able to stand it, she walked close to the girl with slow steps to avoid scaring her. Even so she noticed the flinch she gave and the panic starting to appear in her small little eyes. Eyes that shown all the abuses she probably suffered through the years. From her pocket Lucy took a few coins,
-Here, take it and buy anything you want-Her sweet voice seemed to calm her a bit. She placed the money on the girl's small hands.
-Thank you lady!- she exclaimed sprinting off.
Lucy watched her run happily to spend all her given money. It wasn't much but it made her satisfied to help out others.
-Lucy?!- Lucy turned around to see a blue haired girl watching her in surprise.
-Levy!- She exclaimed to wrap her arms around Levy's waist in a tight hug, her grip causing her to lift Levy a bit from the ground. Levy's stature was as similar as a 13 year old kid much to her dismay.
-What are you doing here?- Her voice covered by the arms that still were caging her.
She let go of Levy letting her breath.
-I was just in my way home- Lucy explained omitting the series of events that had taken place earlier on. Probably avoiding getting her worried or a lecture.
-Tartaros has attacked again- A suffocating tension came in between them. The silence was overwhelming.
-At this rate, they'll destroy all the kingdoms-
-I suspect this is more than a coincidence-
She mentally agreed with her. Everything start years ago when Magnolia was the first kingdom that Tartaros attacked. Rumors told that Magnolia was a sacred city, it had survived the attack fifty years ago. July seventh. A date that would never be forgotten. A cataclysm that killed all the purebloods. Still a mystery.
_ou're still looking for Natsu are you- She freezed at her question. It was something she hadn't told anyone. At least not when sober.
Lucy's silence was her answer.
-Have you ever wondered if he's still alive- Her heart dropped at her words.
-He promised he'd come back- Lucy refuted
-You can't base your hope on a promise-
-Is true but… it's the only thing I got- Her voice cracking at the end. She brought her hands to her neck, letting her fingertips play with the pendant underneath her shirt trying her best to hold back the tears behind her eyes. She wouldn't allow herself to be so vulnerable.
-I should keep going-
-I didn't want to hurt you Lucy. I just want you to be happy- She dedicate her a weak smile that didn't reach her eyes to start walking. Happiness didn't exist. At least not for her. Her happiness ended five years.
-Common Lucy, catch me if you can!- Exclaimed a boy to start running away from a blushing girl.
-How many times I have to tell you? I don't like to run!-
Remembering those times brought peacefulness to her. How was it possible that everything had changed in one day. With her fingertip she dried off a rebel tear that managed to escape.
-Ill be back, I promise you Luce- He promised handing her a pendant. A simple object that she would treasure with her life.
Letting out a sigh she couldn't help herself think the words Levy had said. She was probably right. Maybe it was time to move on and let Natsu be memory from her past.
In that moment an excruciating pain came full force on her shoulder blade blinding her. Poison. With her arm she took hold of her injured shoulder to turn around to see a shade. Damn her wear body.
Slowly her world started turning black. Before passing out completely she manage to hear a distant voice.
-We got her-
So here it is. Ill be posting real soon the next chapter.
