I hate Algebra. I hate Algebra. I hate Algebra. There is nothing worse.
It's useless. Why are we even learning about it? It's just stupid.

Skye lets out a whole hearted laugh. This paper must be at least 3 years old, but it is still just so typical of him.
"Jeffrey!" she shouts downstairs. "I found something you have to take a look at!"

Her boyfriend walks up the stairs, sending a cardbox of his still packed clothing down the stairs, leaving it scattered at the bottom of it. "What is it?"

Skye smiles mischievously. She is going to get her revenge for his hate against her favorite subject. He is currently in a situation where he tolerates being surrounded by many formulas and equations that she scribbles almost everywhere. Sometimes he even lets her tell him about the latest thing her professor talked about.

"I found the confirmation of your classes that you are taking this semester. I'm surprised you're taking advanced calculus!" Skye knows that she is a pretty bad actress but as long as she concentrates on her mission she can hold back a laugh.
Which is very difficult, especially considering the state of shock Jeffrey is in. He looks at her in disbelief and turns just the tiniest bit pale.

"Please tell me you're joking." He looks at her, desperation pictured in his face.

"Not at all" Skye has to bite her lip to hold back her laughter. Usually, that is a dead giveaway of her lying that Jeffrey catches, but maybe is state of shock lets him be less observant.

"I could never pass that class. Not in a thousand lives!" He sits down. "Are you sure that they put me in Calculus?"

"Absolutely positive" Skye answers, grabs the paper and waves in front of his face. It's too close for him to read, so he just looks more puzzled than before.

"Well, I guess we just have to make the best of this."

"WE?" Now it is Skye's turn to look confused. "What do I have to do with this?"

"I was hoping that you would tutor me to help me pass this class." Jeffrey looks at her expectantly.

"Aren't you planning on paying a visit to someone who assigns the classes?" Skye asks, questioning Jeffrey's mental health. "You're just going with this?"

"Taking Advanced Calculus is pretty going to be very hard if you ask me, but would it be so bad to understand maybe half of the stuff that you are talking about all the time? It could even be fun, now that I think about it." Jeffrey's voice is a lot calmer now and the look of shock is slowly disappearing from his face. "I'm just curious what class they cut from the ones I wanted to take originally."

Skye scoots closer to him and puts her and on his forehead. "Not feverish" she murmurs to herself.

Jeffrey smiles at her. "Come on. I'm not that stupid. With you I have a chance to pass Calculus."

"No one said that you're stupid, Jeffrey." It is very important to her to make that clear. "I am just taken by surprise that you would be taking Advanced Calculus without a fight. I didn't think that you were just the tiniest bit interested."

"Well, things change." His smile spreads further. Skye is still too surprised to speak.
He gazes into her eyes and closes the gap between them. She closes her eyes and leans in.

He stops mid-kiss. "Wait. Why did you say "would be taking Calculus"?"

"Well…" The kiss has distracted her from her mission. She lets out a giggle.

"Show me the paper."

"No."

"Don't tell me I've fallen for one of your tricks."

She wordlessly hands him the paper and runs away, just as he realizes and chases her around their new apartment.
