Hey, how's it going? I'm here with a new chapter.

This chapter is really mainly about Izuku and his past and what happens a little after the end of the last chapter.

This might be shorter than the last chapter because I don't really wont to re-write his whole childhood when everyone already knows about it and everyone writes it down. It's kind of basic knowledge nowadays. Izuku's childhood isn't much different in this besides a couple of little changes I made that explain some decisions he'll make later. I won't lie I might end up going on a tangent in this. But whatever more writing for me! :)

I also added some new things to his childhood so look for those!

Finally figured out how I want the transition barriers to look! ... Like that.

Thank you for the review it's really appreciated. I'm glad you're interested as of now. I hope I can get even better and really capture your attention.

P.S. The name of this makes sense for what happens later in the story but I just really like how it sounds, so I used it. heh

That's it so for now, Enjoy!
...

July 15th isn't that important to most people but for Izuku Midoriya it was very important. It was the day that marked his birthday.

The green eyed, black-with green highlights haired, hero loving kid couldn't wait for his birthday to come. He would always get a new All Might action figure and some other hero memorabilia.

Izuku especially couldn't wait for his 4th birthday because that was when he would get to go to the doctor's office and get an awesome crime fighting, flashy, and awe-inspiring quirk that would defeat all villains.

He had stayed up all night and didn't get a wink of sleep because he was too excited. He just couldn't wait to get into that doctor's office and get an awesome quirk. He just knew it was going to be awesome!

His mother's quirk was awesome in his eyes. He absolutely loved his mother to death. She was the best person or thing out there, she even beats All Might! His mom's quirk was awesome but he knew it could be way better and that if it was in his hands he would unleash all the potential it had.

If it was just the same simple 'pull objects towards oneself' quirk he would train day in and day out until he was able to pull villains to him and beat them down with a smile!

His father could breathe green flames out of his mouth. That was super cool! If Izuku had that quirk he would set up barriers around civilians so no villains could harm them and then he would beat the villain to smithereens with a smile!

Not too mention none of his food would ever be cold again. Think about it no more microwaves! So cool!

What Izuku was really excited about though was just maybe he would get a mix of both his mother's and his father's quirks. Something like pyrokinesis, the ability to control fire. He would be unstoppable!

When the green haired and green eyed mother, Inko Midoriya entered her 4 year old son's room she was utterly surprised and a little bit upset because what she found was not suppose to be happening. Not only was Izuku up but he was playing with his toys. She swears that All Might toy is going to be the death of her.

But that's not important right now, what is, is the fact that Izuku is still up. There is still enough time for him to take a nap and be all energized and ready for the appointment later.

"Izuku, why are you up!?" She already established this but, Inko would be lying if she said she wasn't a little upset at the child.

"Im-I'm sorry mommy but I can't wait to get an awesome quirk tomorrow and I c-... couldn't sleep!"

Izuku really thought it was still yesterday and clearly hadn't slept if the yawn at the end of his sentence was any clue. His response was just too cute so Inko couldn't really stay mad and she knew it, so she just sighed.

"Izu come on time to take a nice long nap because guess what?"

"What, mommy!?" Izuku inquired tiredly.

"Today is already tomorrow and the appointment is later but you can't go if you are tired so... it's ... nap time!" Inko sweetly told him whilst tucking him in and placing his beloved All Might playthings back in the positions and the places they belong.

Izuku's eyes widened marginally due to his already large amount of sleep loss, or else they would have been bulging out of his eye sockets.

He nodded as fast as he could in his state and laid back.

Within seconds he was in blissful sleep.

When Izuku woke up it was early afternoon. That means his quirk test is soon. No time to waste he has to go!

Izuku whipped the All Might blanket off his body and sprinted across the apartment to his mother.

Saying that Inko was surprised would be an understatement.

She was so caught off guard when Izuku jumped up and hugged her from behind her whole body went stiff and she yelped.

It took her a couple of seconds to catch her breath and relax and to bend down to her little munchkin.

Inko really lost track of time watching her show.

"A-Ah Izuku you scared me... Oh! It's just about time for that appointment, let's get you dressed and ready!"

Together they darted throughout the apartment to get ready. Izuku was beaming ear to ear the whole time.

They got ready in record time.

All that was left was for them to walk out the door when Inko almost forgot to say bye to their pet bunny 'Smiles' (Izuku came up with the name).

Inko rushed to her room patted the bunny on his head, set carrots in its cage and gave it a goodbye kiss.

She was going exit her room when in the corner of her eye she spotted her favorite scarf. It was relatively chilling out so no harm in a scarf.

It was a rather long, light green scarf but what made it special was the hand-crafted patch she situated on the front near the mouth. The patch right in front of the mouth and nose area was a rough sketch of a bunny with large ears.

To her and Izuku it was the cutest and best thing they could do to the scarf.

They decided to make the addition to the scarf the first holiday they spent with Smiles. It represents that Smiles was a part of the family and that the two love rabbits.

Inko has a feeling she has more attachment towards bunnies in general than Izuku but Izuku has expressed in many ways that they were one of his favorite animals.

She snatched the scarf and slung it around her neck.

Wasting no time she made her way to the front door to leave with Izuku.

When they entered the doctor's Izuku ran all the way up to the chair and bounced erratically. Inko asked for him to calm down many times but she eventually realized that her attempts to calm him down were futile. He was just too excited right now.

The doctor entered the room and made Izuku take an x-ray to see whether or not he had one to two bones in his pinky toe.

Once they were finished he placed the x-ray photos on the big screen and slouched back in his comfy chair.

He doesn't have good news for the kid so he'll try not to get his hopes up.

Once he sat, Izuku started to say why he wanted a quirk and why he was so excited for a quirk. He started to ramble and on and on. Talking about who his favorite heroes were and how he loves them.

Izuku started recited the entire All Might debut video from memory. From the moment the disaster started to the moment All Might showed up. All Might come out of all the wreckage and fire with people in both his arms and saved more people than all the other heroes combined! All Might was Izuku's favorite hero and that's who he strives to be. Once he became a hero, he would save everyone with a smile just like All Might!

"Sorry kid, ain't gonna happen"

!?

Once that stupid bald doctor with the big dumb mustache and big idiotic glasses said that Izuku shut down. He couldn't even move, forget about speak.

He didn't move a muscle as the doctor finished explaining things to his mother.

He was listening intently but there was no way he could respond. His dreams were crushed.

His entire dream shattered, Ruined!

All because of what, a dumb pinky bone! So what if he had two when he was born, why does that mean he had no quirk!

All he wanted to do was save people with a big smile and a powerful quirk! Just like All Might!

Anything would do now, even something dumb like seeing farther or... or... something!

Please!

Anything!

Izuku was lost.

Even when he got home and his mother had made him his favorite food ever.

Katsudon.

The food didn't make him feel any better.

So after he was done just picking at the plate his mother let him excuse himself to his room. He trudged to his room.

Once inside he went right to the computer because he really, really needed to see All Might right now.

All Might would tell him it was ok.

Inko felt like a terrible mom. She knew it was unreasonable to think that but she couldn't help it. She couldn't help it because she knew that her son was devastated but she had this niggling feeling of happiness.

The happiness was there because now her son wouldn't get involved in that deadly and painful life of heroes and villainy. Oh, especially villainy.

No.

She doesn't want to think about him.

All she can do for now is comfort her little Izuku.

She entered his room and what she saw tore her heart to pieces.

Izuku was drenched in his own tears, shaking and watching the All Might video on repeat. So when he asked Inko if he could still be a hero she couldn't help but start to weep too and hug him.

That's all she could do because she wouldn't lie to him, she loved him too much to do that and because she had to be there for him.

"D-do you think I-I can still be as awesome as-as you and daddy?!"

It was plain as day.

It was clear that Izuku truly believed that his father was this amazing figure, Inko could see it in his eyes.

"I'm so sorry honey, I'm so, so sorry!? But you're already cooler than me or that man! You are a million times better!"

She shouldn't have said this, she should have let Izuku find out about his father later in life and let him make up his own opinion. But she didn't have it in her to let him say such good things about that villain.

That man left her and her child all because of his selfish desires. He deserves nothing, especially not her son's admiration.

Inko held her precious child tight and didn't let go until he fell asleep because she knew this was just the start of a very unfair life for him.

Izuku's friendship with Kacchan ended at the drop of a hat once it was out that he was quirkless.

They played no more games on the playground.

No more play dates.

There was nothing except for Kacchan's anger.

What he was angry at, Izuku had no idea, but he wanted his friend back.

He knew that Kacchan wanted nothing to do with him but he had nobody but his mother, so he wasn't going to give up on that one other person.

But life is never that easy.

Soon just push and shove became explode and punch.

After explode and punch, it became explode, kicks and punches.

With explode, kicks and punches, soon Kacchan became Katsuki.

Even though he really, really didn't want to change the nickname, he had to, or else face the wrath of Kacch- Katsuki and his group of friends.

Which was conveniently the whole class.

Well the group that mainly tormented him was Katsuki and the two other kids. The one with the really long fingers quirk and the one with dragon wings.

What Izuku knew was that if he wanted to get hit less than usual he should stop calling him Kacchan. It was extremely hard for the 7 year old to switch the names especially because it was practically a habit now.

Another thing that happened was instead of being Izuku he was now known as 'Deku'. From what Ka-Katsuki said it means useless. When he first heard it, it had really hurt his feelings.

But he's used to it now.

He knows he should probably speak up for himself but he can't bring himself to, so Deku it is.

It wasn't like he would talk back to Katsuki unless he was bullying someone else. That's when he had to shout that Kacchan was being mean.

It resulted in more injuries.

One reason it made more injuries happen was because he had talked back to him when it was clear that he shouldn't have even thought of that being acceptable, but neither was Kacchan's behavior.

And because he had called him Kacchan. Izuku had called him that so that maybe, just maybe he would get some sympathy from his old friend.

Also because it was hard not to call him that.

He has called him Kacchan since he could remember but, he'll try to stop because he'd rather not keep worrying his mother.

His mother would worry so much because he would come home every day with more bruises and burn marks. But Izuku didn't have the heart to tell on Kacc-Katsuki. That wouldn't be good for mom and Auntie Mitsuki's relationship. Mom and Auntie Mitsuki were best friends, there's no way he would come between that.

His mother worried a whole lot. Izuku was positive that all her worrying was revolved around him.

In his opinion, she worried way too much.

It was clear as glass. From what he could remember his mother was a lot leaner, didn't cry as much and was way less nervous all the time.

Izuku knew all this but also knew that he wasn't helping in any way.

Actually, he was making it worse. He adopted the same nervousness, but on a higher scale and the waterworks might as well have been genetic. He was an extremely easy crier.

It didn't help that he achieved a new level of being an introvert with his habit of stuttering. He hated how he stuttered and hated how he couldn't help it but what are you going to do when your so shy all you can do is mumble "s-sorry"?

So therefore at the age of 11, Izuku can probably be professionally declared as socially inept.

Maybe that can be his hero name.

Socially Inept... Man.

Never mind.

He definitely needed to come up with something better.

Izuku was really not looking forward to today.

Today was show and tell day. The day where you bring in something awesome and tell your classmates about it.

He had no doubt people were going to bring in some cool stuff like maybe a skateboard or a game console.

But all Izuku had was his All Might action figures, and at 11 years old no one still played with toys like that. Don't even mention the fact that him being quirkless made him doubt his ability to be a hero every day. What everyone else says doesn't help.

Well, he could bring in Smiles... Never mind, terrible idea. Smiles doesn't deserve that, all it deserves is to stay in Izuku's room and eat his heart out all day.

Izuku and his mother are the only ones who can meet Smiles. Smiles significantly brightens up both of their days, so off limits to everyone else!

Izuku decided to just not bring in anything because that was better than having Kacch- Katsuki beat him up for believing he could still be a hero again.

Dang, he really needs to fix that habit of his.

Izuku got out of bed and got dressed at a lethargic pace.

Honestly, he was tired of this school uniform. He couldn't wait until next year when he got new uniforms for junior high. He was hopeful that in junior high he would no longer be ostracized for his quirklessness.

He practically brushed his teeth with muscle memory until that splash of water ran down his face. He took the water and rigorously rubbed his eyes and mouth until he was wide awake and ready for the day.

Once exiting the bathroom he was met with the beautiful smell of whatever it was his mother was making.

It didn't really matter, all her food tasted like it as made from angels in heaven.

Setting himself at the table he almost started to drool until his mother caught his attention with a greeting and a question.

"Good morning Izu, how was your sleep?"

"It was great mom, oh and good morning to you too."

Inko glanced at the clock. Once she registered it she whipped her head back towards him and hurriedly said.

"Oh heavens you must hurry or else you'll be late!"

Izuku's head darted towards the clock and his eyeballs bulged. He had 15 minutes to get there and it's a 10 minute walk. He had to hurry up!

So donning a determined face he set out to gobble up his breakfast at a pace that would make most mistake him for having a quirk.

He had 11 minutes left until he was late. He had just finished putting on his favorite red sneakers and settled his hand on the door, ready to fling it open.

He whipped the door open and got ready to sprint.

"Bye, mom I love you!"

"I love you too honey! Have a nice day!"

And with that, he was off.

Off to school.

Trying his hardest not to be late and he thought he would have made it on time too until he came across the sounds of a hero and a villain fighting.

It matters not the situation. If there was a fight going on nearby, Izuku was going to be there to see it and analyze it.

Izuku bounded around the corner to catch the action but immediately after he had rounded the corner he didn't see any action. The only thing he saw was a large rock coming his way.

Then he saw darkness.

When Inko got the call she almost had a heart attack. She didn't understand. She sent him off not even twenty, maybe thirty minutes ago and now he's in the hospital with a head injury!

Granted they said it was extremely minor and he would be discharged later that night but still! It was her baby boy that got hurt!

She dashed to the hospital as fast as her short and stubby legs could take her. When she entered his room he was peacefully sleeping. So she sat down nearby and waited until he would wake up. Except 2 hours later and he still wasn't up! So it was obvious that she would fall asleep.

Izuku's head was pounding when he awoke. There was also this weird tingling at the back of his head too but he decided to ignore it. He thought maybe that all was a dream anyway, but the creamy white ceiling begged to differ. So he decided to humor himself and believe that just maybe that smell of antiseptic that was clearly some form of iodoform was where he thought he was. Based off of that smell he had to be in a hospital.

But that would mean that all that really happened!

Once the situation sunk in, he shot up to a sitting position and frantically looked around.

There sleeping soundlessly was his mother in a uncomfortable position. His mother's presence greatly reduced his anxiety.

Soon his mother began to stir and sleepily blink her eyes open and awake. When she caught sight of him up and awake, she jumped up and pulled him in a bone-crushing hug. Once she was done with the loving display she pulled back.

She really wanted to grill him for answers but she knew he had to be as uninformed as her.

It was convenient that at that exact moment the doctor decided to come in. It was clear to both of them that he was tired and didn't want to be here.

"So from what we got, you were in a crowd at a villain attack? Don't answer just nod yes or no."

Nod.

"And you turned a corner, but as soon as you did, a rock came full force at your head?"

Another nod.

"Ok well there isn't any damage to his head and he's clear to go home in an hour or so. There's still some paperwork to fill out."

The mother-son pair nodded their heads as the doctor stalked out the door.

In the time it took to Inko to fill out the papers no words were said, just some hugs and the unfamiliar feeling in Izuku's head.

Then they were on their way.

She no longer had to question her son because the doctor had already done that for her.

Before she had some difficulty believing this had happened. That is until he mentioned a hero versus villain fight.

She knows her son may be a little obsessed but it was his dream. After having his dream out down in such a way so allows him to be. She lets him get away with his dirty pleasure.

It was dark once they entered their neat, little abode and it was far too late to do anything but to go to bed.

Inko was tired, so tired she hadn't even noticed that she already dropped her beloved scarf on the carpet. Right in the center of the living room.

Her huge amount of sleepiness outweighed her awareness so she quickly kissed Izuku goodnight and flopped into bed.

Izuku's head was still pounding even now and he was exhausted. What was odd was that the unfamiliar feeling and sensation at the back of his mind that still hadn't left.

He wasn't sure if the doctor made the right call.

He might have slept for a really long time but a hit like that was no joke. He felt like animal feces. Although the doctor said there was no damage, it sure felt like there was damage!

He entered his room and went to pet Smiles. He did it did because there was a chance that just maybe Smiles would generate and transfer some happiness to him.

Needless to say, it didn't work.

Bed was the way better solution so he jumped into bed, forgoing the action of undressing or taking off his shoes and tugged the covers over him as he started to slowly fell asleep.

Izuku was shocked beyond belief when All Might showed up. He was also extremely happy. It was All Might who wouldn't be happy.

That is until All Might started punching him and everything around him.

All Might used his mighty punches to break the ground and upend houses. Families destroyed by one of his punches. No one could stop him but Izuku has to try.

Izuku ran up to him and begged to know why he was doing this. He begged him to please stop. The response he got made his heart stop.

"You ask why young man?! Why because of you!"

"M-M-M-Me?! H-How?!"

"Why because you are quirkless and useless! Listen to the screams you can't prevent!"

Izuku's ears were violated with a piercing scream that sounded scarily similar to his mother's voice.

"Why you ask?! Because you are Deku!"

Izuku woke up with sweat dripping down his face.

He has had his fair share of nightmares but never with this much sweat.

It felt like a furnace was on and his body was being cooked alive.

It was odd especially because that nightmare was bad, but he's had worse and this one wasn't terrible.

But what was terrible was that he could still distantly hear the woman's screams from the nightmare in his ears at the moment.

It was scaring him to his core so he shakily grabbed Smiles from his cage. He would use anything to try and dispel this utter dread he felt and bolted out his door.

In search of his mother's comfort.

Instead of comfort, all he got was louder screams and a hotter temperature. It felt like he was in a volcano. He vaguely asked himself if the house was on fire.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH"

Izuku froze.

That was way too loud and close to have been fake.

He darted to the living room hoping all this was just another nightmare.

What he saw would be engraved in his memory forever.

Everything was on fire.

Everything.

There was blood all over the carpet.

Blood?!

Even if he didn't want to believe it, it was undeniable. The sight of Smiles dashing towards his mother and laying on her, even though it got its fur all bloody just cemented what he knew.

He didn't even have to look up to know what was happening right now. But he did anyways.

And he seriously wished he hadn't.

Standing over his bloody and mangled mother was the creepiest man he had ever seen.

The glasses that were wide and round, as if they could see everything. Glasses speckled with blood, his mother's blood on the lenses. Glasses that shined as he turned his head toward him.

The grin that grew even wider as he took notice of him. The grin that obviously had no business being on any mortal. It should have been reserved for the devil.

Izuku didn't care about the man's appearance anymore. His mother was there, right there, he had to do something.

Anything.

This really wasn't the time to be a useless Deku!

He wanted to hold her, he desperately wanted to be with his mother when they died.

But how could he do that without getting gutted before he reached her.

At that exact moment, his headache increased tenfold. Crushing his skull and burning him hotter than the flames that have consumes his living room could.

He peeled open one eye and stared at his mother hoping against all hope that she was next to him because he was so lost without her. She was his beacon in the sky, his one important person.

So when she slowly slid over to him and thudded against him he didn't have enough time to stay shocked over the facts of how it happened. He scooped her into his arms and held her.

He knew that no one had touched her. She magically slid over.

He also felt his headache entirely disappeared the moment she was in his arms, as if it was never there in the first place.

His mind was clear now but his eyes weren't. The amount of tears coming out of his eyes were like a waterfall. They blurred his vision as he begged over and over again that this wasn't real.

That this really wasn't happening!

"I-Izuku you need t-t-to run o-ok?" Inko was trying to sound strong and tough but once she started to cough up blood it was obvious to him.

This was the end.

"I l-love you s-so much my pre-precious child"

Izuku believed that she enjoyed her last words because of the soft smile she held before closing her eyes and going limp in his arms.

"MOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!? MOMMA?! No! No! No! NNNNOOOOOO!"

Izuku was crying hysterically.

He barely registered the fact that evil, vile man had impaled Smiles with a bowie and was licking the dead parts off it.

He barely registered anything, but he did register a patch of green in the middle of the room.

There was the light green scarf. The scarf that Inko loved. Izuku thought it was too bad that it was going to burn. Wait! The scarf had been untouched by the dastardly flame that coated the room.

The scarf was unharmed!

His mother's scarf!

He had to have it with him. He needed it. It was his last thing of comfort in this cruel world.

Just like before a feeling pulsed in the back of his head. This time it didn't hurt and it wasn't uncomfortable. It felt oddly familiar, warm and gentle. It greatly reminded him of his mother.

His now dead mother.

The scarf was yanked towards him by an invisible force. It got caught on a misplaced shoe. He needed it to go around the shoe instead. That's exactly what it did. After that, it was a straight shot towards him. It landed firm in the palm of his hand and he lifted it up to his neck and tied it as tight as he could without hurting himself.

No matter what he wouldn't let go of it!

Now that his awareness was back he realized the wicked and cruel man was moving towards him. He honestly didn't care for anything at this point.

His mother was dead.

And so was Smiles.

He would probably join them soon.

But he did want to know the bastard who did this to him! To him and his family! And why!

"Who-Who are y-y-you?! W-Why?!"

The man was within reaching territory when Izuku had asked this. The man answered with a malicious grin on his face.

"Why? Because All For One told me to? And why he told me to was all... your father's fault!"

Izuku's eyes widened in disbelief. The man he hasn't heard from in years is the reason behind this.

It couldn't be.

Izuku never really got a chance to think it through because the man's shout and hand steadily reaching for his face interrupted his thought process.

"As to who am I?! Why I am your worst Nightmare!"

The man's hand enclosed around his face and within a few breathes he was screaming.

...

Phew!

First, want to say thank you for the favorites and follows!
