Chapter 1:
Echizen Ryoma's POV
Lying on the bed, my wounds still not fully healed.
Kevin's probably with kaa-san, oyaji, and Ryoga right now. Lucky bastard…
I felt a large urge to run away from the castle and go back home before… It's so weird but… I need to go back home before the day of my… wedding…
I felt sick just thinking about it. Me, getting married… to a GUY..! That's totally messed up. If my family were here, I can't imagine what they're going to say about this…
"Congratulation, chibisuke..! You're getting married before I even do!" Ryoga cheered.
"I never thought the impossible could actually be possible." Kevin mused.
"It's as if it was just yesterday you were born and now you're getting married… My baby boy's all grown up!" kaa-san said happily with a sad smile and teary eyes.
"Oi, Ryoma… Don't forget to use protection!" my father laughed.
"Congratulations, Ryoma-san!" Nanako smiled.
The sound of their claps, their cheers, and my father's laughs echoing in my head. Married… Married… MARRIED…
"IMPOSSIBLE!" I shouted and sat up and flinched when I felt pain. I got back to bed and I forgot that Bunta was still in the room and he looked at me funny.
"W-What's wrong, your highness?" he asked worriedly. I looked at him and quickly looked away.
"I… I don't want to get… married…" I said with a tone of disgust.
"B-But your highness..! The wedding! It's already been planned! You can't just back out now!"
"I can if I want to…" I replied. Getting married to someone I never met. A guy like me… It's just so sickening! I looked at him. "I'll find a way out of the wedding…"
"The wedding will be held next month! It's already been planned and has been announced to everyone in the kingdom! There is no way out..!" he said with all sincerity.
"Tell the prince I don't want to be married to him…" I turned my body around and closed my eyes. Bunta gave out a groan.
"The prince chose you. YOU. And you will be married to him. When the prince wants something, he will always get what he wants no matter what you do. I apologize for my rudeness, your highness… I shall take my leave."
And with that, he left and closed the door. His words echoed in my mind. He makes it sound like as if the prince was a monster.
There's no way I'd want to be married. My choice is final. I will run away from this castle, find a way back home, go back to my family unmarried, and live a happy life. END OF STORY..! But...
"I just wish these stupid wounds would at least heal faster…" I said with clenched teeth and pounded the bed with my fist. I want to go home now…
Marui Bunta's POV
I was talking with my friends. I'm leaning on the wall next to the door of the kid's room. He's probably asleep… I sighed.
"Ah… That kid's pretty hard to convince…"
"It's no use… He's being too stubborn..." Jackal said.
"He sounds like a brat…" Akaya said, frowning.
"Aren't you the brat?" I grinned and flicked his forehead.
"Ite… Marui-senpai…" he winced, rubbing his forehead. I just chuckled and then sighed again.
"Anyway, we have to find a way to convince him…" I said.
"Yeah…" Jackal nodded.
"Che! Why don't you just make him FALL for the prince?" Akaya frowned, crossed his arms. Suddenly, it hit me. My eyes widened at that.
"I know! Let's make him fall in love with the prince!" I suggested happily. Akaya coughed and Jackal raised a brow.
"T-That's what I said!" Akaya said angrily. I just ignored him.
"If the kid falls in love with the prince, there won't be any problems at all! He'll finally accept his engagement with the prince and get married!" I smiled widely at my plan.
"Genius, aren't I?" I asked charmingly. I ignored their expressions.
"Mattaku, Bunta…" Jackal rubbed his temples.
"Let me just say this, Marui-senpai, but… I don't think the brat's simply going to fall for the prince-"
"Nonsense..!" I cut him off. "Everyone loves our prince and if that is so, then the kid will fall for him too!"
"How can you be so sure..?" Akaya raised and eyebrow.
"I'll make him fall for the prince myself… said Jackal!" I added, smiling.
"M-Me?!" Jackal interjected. I just raised my hands and laughed nervously.
"You'll do it, right?" I smiled at Jackal. He just stared at me for a while and sighed.
"Fine…"
"Yoshi! This will be easy!" I gave a thumbs up.
"Whatever you say, Marui-senpai…" Akaya said. I just laughed.
This is going to be good…
Echizen Ryoma's POV
"Idiots…" I muttered.
They don't know I was listening the entire time. Me? Fall in love with the prince? Ridiculous… They're so naïve… As if I'd fall for the prince that easily. I'll have to find a way out fast. But first I'll have to let myself heal…
"Dammit…" I cursed. If I didn't end up here in the first place, I wouldn't be here engaged with the prince…
If they're planning to make me fall for the prince, fine. I have a plan.
"If the prince likes me, then…" I said to no one and smirked to myself.
I guess I'll have to turn him OFF.
?'s POV
"Are you sure about this...?"
"Yes, I'm pretty sure…"
"He's not from our world… He might be an enemy or…"
"I'm quite aware of that." I said and looked at him. "And I'm pretty sure with my decision that I'll be marrying him."
"If that's what you want…" he said.
"I'll be marrying him in a month. My decision is final." I reassured. He looked worried but I didn't mind that.
"What is his name..?" he asked.
"According to his I.D., his name is Echizen Ryoma…" I replied.
"Echizen Ryoma, huh..?"
"Aa. Fine name, isn't it..?" I asked and then looked away.
"He'll make a fine bride…" I smiled slightly.
