I'm surprised this is slightly cohesive with how I want the story to go even though I didn't write it. Thank my bf for this chapter beloveds.
Rose slid the silk dress to her body, a crimson red it complimented her tan skin. It was like a second skin and hugged Rose's voluminous curves, two thin straps held it up on her shoulders.
Dimitri walked in as Rose was finishing her hair straightening routine. He was also dressed to the nines. Dressed in a pure white tuxedo, his undervest and handkerchief were the same crimson red and Rose's dress. His attire was all tied together with jet black dress shoes and his hair brushed and tied up and away from his face.
Dimitri held a 'street-style' fur coat in his hand, the same color as his suit. "Your color coordination will always amaze me." He said as he wrapped the coat around Rose.
Said girl smiled "You know as well as I do we're only going to this gala to be boujie."
The venue were the gala was being held was beautiful. With high ceilings and diamond chandeliers it was something out of a children's fairy tale. Although Rose could easily say she'd seen better.
Christian and Lissa were already there, Christian in an all black suit and Lissa adorning a flowing emerald green dress one Rose could identify as the one she'd given her for her birthday.
"Good to know you both don't care for appearance times." Christian said as they approached.
"You know as well as I do Rose likes to be late."
Rose smacked her spouses chest in mock outrage "I have you know it's Dimitri's fault we're late he couldn't find his car keys."
As Christian and Dimitri delved in conversation Rose's attention was turned to her best friend, who was being unusually quiet. "Is something wrong Liss?" She asked quietly not wanting to disturb the conversation and draw unnecessary attention.
The woman shrugged "Come with me to the ladies room and I'll tell you."
Rose nodded worry maring her face.
They found themselves in the bathroom after excusing themselves under the notion that Rose had to "powder her nose"
"So? What's the problem?" She questioned.
"Do you remember the house warming party I threw for Mia?"
Rose nodded, she hadn't went opting to spend the night with Dimitri and the 'Twilight' series.
"Well Christian had took it upon himself to invite Tasha who he then invited to the wedding." Lissa hesitantly said. She knew of the bad blood between Tasha and Rose something that had been going on for years.
Rose immediately buried her head in her hands "Is he out of his fucking mind ESPECIALLY with Dimitri going to be there."
Rose hated Tasha and she was more that sure that feeling was mutual. As Christian's older sister they'd been introduced to each other soon after he and Lissa got together, and it was hate at first sight. It had only gotten worse when Dimitri had be brought into the picture. It had gotten so bad on several occasions it had often led to altercations and shouting matches between the two women one time almost ending in a fist fight.
After Dimitri had found himself within their small friend group Tasha's dislike for Rose had not only been because Tasha didn't like her as a 'person' but because of Dimitri as well. Most of it stemming from her being Dimitri's ex. It was through Christian they had gotten together in the first place, but that hadn't lasted long when Rose came into the picture.
Rose reveled in the fact that she had taken Dimitri from Tasha. Not only had she done it right in front of her but she hadn't even tried. No flirting, no batting her eyelashes like a love sick school girl. All she had done was smiled and she had Dimitri trapped like a fly on a web.
"To be fair Rose that's his sister." Lissa said ever the voice a reason.
Rose wanted to beat that reason away with a hammer. "I'm not being unfair I know it's his sister but he knows how she feels about Dimitri and he knows how Tasha and I feel about each other, why would he put her in a situation where she's likely to get her ass beat."
"ROSE! THAT'S NOT OKAY TO SAY."
"I could've said something much worse Lissa and you know it."
Lissa sighed yeah she knew and once upon a time she knew Rose wouldn't have held her tongue and would've just said it, but she's matured long since moving past the Tasha thing. It was only agitating her because it was at the forefront of her mind and Lissa understood that. She couldn't stand Tasha either but for Christian she had to and so did Rose and they both knew that clear as a summer day.
"When's she coming?" Rose asked all of a sudden wanting to go home.
"A week from yesterday so you have all that time to do your yoga lessons and get your shit together." Lissa answered.
Rose snorted, only thing getting together would be her foot up Tasha's ass. "I'm not making any promises Lissa."
"I'm not asking you to Rose." Lissa began "I'm asking you not to throw Tasha out a window the day of my wedding, I'm not covering up a murder for you."
