Mondays are better with updates! Here is chapter 2. Have some wonderful brooding Felix!

It was a normal day in the Agreste household: Adrien was pouting, Father was working overtime, Nathalie was organizing everyone's schedules, Felix was brooding.

Felix often brood, though he would deny it. There is a distinct difference between brooding and contemplative silence. He was preparing for university, he needed time to sit in silence and think. It was not brooding.

Currently, his mind was occupied with his little brother. He was such a naive child, one that needed extra protection and guidance lest he wander into a wall. With their mother gone and Father spending his spare time in the fashion industry, it was left to Felix to care for young Adrien. It was Felix's insistence that got him into school and it was Felix's careful eye that kept the entire household from discovering Adrien's current….hobby.

Felix had gone into Adrien's room to return the book he borrowed, expecting his brother to be passed out on the computer or in front of the TV when a black figure dropped from the window. He can't say why he didn't immediately call for a guard, but in a flash of green light, the black figure was replaced with Adrien and any normal brain functions stopped.

Chat Noir was a child. Even worse, Chat Noir was his baby brother! Felix never understood the fascination with superheroes that left Paris enthralled. They were a nuisance and the constant interruptions to his study time was unacceptable, but to learn that his brother was the one traipsing around in black spandex appalled him.

Perhaps he should go to Father. He would put a stop to this nonsense, but he always hesitated. Despite the annoyance, Adrien hadn't been this happy since their mother died. Felix sighed, Adrien needed the freedom, the mansion was slowly suffocating him.

There was a knock on the door, "Dinner is served Mr. Agreste."

"Thank you Nathalie, I'll be there shortly."

No, he couldn't let others know. Not without risking Adrien. And from what little he has seen, Adrien was not going to give up this ridiculous hero work. That left only one thing to do.

Dinner was silent, as usual; Father worked on papers as he ate, and Adrien pushed around the portioned food around his plate. Felix frowned, he would have to be sure Adrien received adequate calorie intake. Leaping around as Chat Noir on a model diet was not healthy.

They bid goodnight to Father and rather than head to his room, felix followed Adrien, who looked up startled when he tried closing the door on him. Felix inwardly sighed, he tried so hard to raise him, where did he go wrong?

"We need to talk, Adrien."

Adrien beamed, such an eager child still, "Yeah! Come in! "

Shutting the door behind him, he looked around the room at father's attempts to placate his younger son. Adrien was too much like their mother though. He loved being part of the world around him, "What's up Felix?"

And that would be Nino's influence. His language was getting more and more colloquial each day. Now's not the time though, "I know you are Chat Noir."

"Whaaat?" Adrien chuckled nervously, subconsciously running his hands through his hair, "Felix, you didn't make that special tea again did you?"

His brother was less than amused. "You transformed right in front of me and began talking with a tiny black blob that demanded cheese, though I will say, at least it has taste."

"Camembert cheese is not refined! It's stinky and gross."

Felix smirked, "So you admit it?"

"I, well, no, I" As Adrien floundered, the aforementioned tiny black blob appeared, cackling.

"I like you kid. Master Fu should've given me to you, then I could have someone who APPRECIATES my refined taste." Felix studied the small cat, his brain slowly taking in the new information.

"You give Adrien the powers?"

"Smart too, I'm Plagg, at your service."

"Plagg, stop!" Adrien made a grab for him, but he deftly swerved, floating over Felix's head.

"Enough pretending kid, your brother's not dumb, and now you don't have to agonize over lying to him anymore."

Something warm akin to pride and affection swelled in Felix's chest, yes this was the right choice. Adrien slumped, "Are you going to tell Father?"

Felix sat, inviting Adrien to do the same, "No, but with some conditions. I will not let anyone know about…Plagg, but you must be more cautious. I'll get you more food so you're not starving and can cover for you, but you have to bring your grades back up and take fencing class more seriously. You are being reckless out there."

Adrien's sullenness quickly changed to joy and pride as Felix fretted over him. Quickly promising all that and more, he hugged Felix. "Thank you!"

Felix patted him on the head, offering him a rare, albeit small, smile, "One more thing. I am taking over some of your patrols."

"What? You can't." His ring hand instinctively clenched.

Plagg chimed in, his mouth stuffed, "Kid's right. I'm bonded to Adrien, can't just pass me around like candy."

"That is fine cheese, act like it. And I do not intend to become Chat Noir in the truest sense. Chat Noir is only needed for akumas, yet that nosy girl in your class states that you and Ladybug patrol every other night. That is unacceptable. All you need is a communication device and rudimentary defence skills to patrol the city. The police do it every day."

"But…won't people notice if I, Chat Noir, suddenly isn't on the rooftops? My Lady would not be fooled."

Felix rolled his eyes, "With a background in gymnastics and a sturdy baton, I too can romp around on the roofs."

Adrien looked at Plagg, who shrugged, "I guess I could use more time to study. And sleep."

"Good. I'll make the necessary arrangements. In the meantime, tell me everything I need to know, so I can pass as you in front of Ladybug." Instant regret filtered through to Felix as Adrien lit up like a Christmas tree.

"Ladybug is amazing!"
