Greeting everyone. I promised myself that I would get this chapter out today. I haven't watch Scandal since season 5, so I don't even know what has been happening. I hope you enjoy this chapter.
a week later...
The group was ready to deliver the knock out punch on councilman Davis, but Fitz got an idea to kill two birds with one stone. He convinced Davis to bring the Mayor along as a guarantee to his money being spent in the right way. They got the Presidential suite at the Four Seasons near Phipps Plaza. The two were so greedy that they agreed without hesitation. The mayor had no qualms with earning a truck load of money on his way out of office, and Davis just saw the dollar signs and he had the house in Bermuda picked out for his retirement. This would be his last big score.
Huck went into the suite and wired it all up including the bathroom. Huck said that people tend to talk to themselves to either calm their selves down or out of the nervousness they were experiencing. They thought it was weird, but who were they to question Huck.
Everything was set and at the last possible minute, the District Attorney of Atlanta and the Attorney General of Georgia were called to the van to witness something that would shake the foundation of Atlanta politics.
Fitz was a little nervous because he knew this would be the biggest story of his life. All seemed to slow down as the bell door was rung on the suite door. The Four seasons offered butler service and he had the gentleman answer the door and man the drink duties as they got down to business. The butler brought them into the sitting room and asked the gentlemen what drink they care for. With drinks distributed the butler left the room and closed the door.
"So gentlemen, thank you for coming. As a tradition my family started as a way to celebrate closing a deal is to brake out cigars."
Fitz got up and moved to the buffet and pulled out an entire box of authentic Cuban cigars. Both men smirked and chose a cigar as well as the sterling silver cigar cutter for the end of the tips. Fitz lit their cigars with a small blow torch lighter made just for cigar. Once everyone pulled a few times on their cigars and sipped the premium liquor they got down to business.
"So Mr. Mayor, Mr. Davis here indicated that you have a project waiting for me and my team to complete. Are we in agreement to the amount I quoted Mr. Davis for the project?"
"We are to a point. I think that another million added on to the ten you offered would be satisfactory for my help in this matter. After all, I've got about two weeks left in my administration, and this kind of deal is going to take a herculean effort to pull it off before I go." As he rolled the cigar in his fingers and then looked up into Fitz's eyes.
Fitz smirked, "I can say you really do have some balls coming in here and tacking on another mill when I haven't even seen a contract to be signed."
The Mayor looked at Davis and nodded his head as Davis pulled his brief case from the floor by his chair. He threw a heavy packet on the table in front of Fitz.
"That Mr. Grant is my balls on the table, just sign and by the time I float on out of office, you will have a 100 million dollar construction deal from the city of Atlanta. Just think of the extra mill as a handling fee on my part."
Fitz leaned over pulled out the contracts and signed them in front of both men. He stood as he handed them back to Davis and lifted his glass.
"To greed gentlemen." They both stood and said, "to greed." As they clinked their glasses.
Davis excused himself and went to bathroom. When he closed the door he started to cuss and punch the air. When he faced the mirror trying to calm his rage.
"How the fuck does that dim wit have the audacity to leave me out of the extra million! I did all the fucking grunt work for this ass hole and I get left out!"
Edison looked at himself in the mirror, turned on the cold water and splashed a little on his face to calm down.
"Come on Eddie, you can squeeze this cash cow for yourself on other deals after the mayor leave. Remember who you are. Your the chairman of the appropriations counsel."
Everyone in the van was shocked at the pep talk that Davis was having with himself as well as incriminating himself even more. Huck had a smirk on his face. Just like he thought, there were always pearls dropped in the bathroom.
Edison comes out of the bathroom. "Well Mr. Grant and Mayor I have dinner plans with my wife and daughter, I'll take the paperwork with me and I'll have them filed Monday morning."
Everyone rose and Edison headed out the door. Fitz thought it a little odd that the Mayor didn't take the opportunity to leave as well, but sat back down and puffed a little more on his cigar. Fitz mirrored him because he felt that they were about to get maybe a bigger story than they had anticipated.
"Grant, I like the way you do business. I had my guy run a background check on you and to be frank, you and your family are quite impressive. Your family owns 10 major newspaper up and down the eastern seaboard, you just happen to be related to the Rockefeller on your fahter's side. That's why I asked for more money. You played us on the cheap side."
"Hey, just cause your front man let greed cloud his due diligence doesn't hurt me one bit."
"I like you Grant. So much, I'm willing to cut you in on the real power in this state. For a generous entry fee, you may have free rain in the Governors office."
Everyone in the van held their breath as the mayor continued.
"What makes you so sure that you'll make it into that office? Voters are fickle. What can you guarantee me now?"
"Davis was my front man, and I'm the governors front man or shall we say bag man."
Fitz picked up his whiskey glass and swirled in his hand.
"You have my attention, go on."
"I leave office in about two weeks and lets be frank, I have no real ambition to run for that office. What I am interested in is a nice payoff for my services from you to the high reaches of this states Governors mansion."
Fitz put his drink down on the coffee table pulled out his pen and pushed it over to the mayor with a note pad. The mayor got the hint and wrote a number down. He pushed it back to Fitz. Fitz eyed him and then picked up the pad to look at the number.
He smirked, "I think that is feasible."
"Damn, I should have asked for more, you jumped on that pretty quick."
"Well Mr. Mayor if you had really done your due diligence on me, you would have discovered that my mother's maiden name is Helen DuPont Grant. I'm not only related to the Rockefeller's through my father, but my mother lineage make me cousins to the Astor's, Roosevelt's, and the Vanderbilt's. I could live five life times and never get a wif of poverty. So, I suggest you get a better investigator. With the kind of work he's doing for you, you get what you pay for. So, this will be the amount you get Mr. Mayor."
He folded the piece of paper and put it inside his suit jacket.
"Now, if you'll excuse me I have a flight to catch."
"By all means Grant. When will I hear from you again?"
"I'll be back in a week, you bring the Governor with you, I like to look a man in the eye before I hand over that much money."
Fitz rose and escorted the Mayor out.
Everyone in the van was stunned into silence, except Olivia. She stepped out of the van and called the FBI. This was way above the two attorney's in the van and she wasn't sure that the Attorney General might spill the beans. She had a friend at the bureau by the name of Quinn. After everyone regained their composure, they exited the van.
Olivia got back in the van to talk to Huck.
"All I can come up with right now is just wow. Who knew we could go down one rabbit hole and come up with the biggest fish in all of Georgia, being the most corrupt. Damn! Fitz was on fire, especially with that fictitious family rant. He sure knows how to reel in greedy people like him."
"It's not a rant Liv. Fitz is really related to all those families. He plays it like he has no money, but everything he said was true."
Huck turned to see Olivia's jaw hitting the floor.
"Remember Liv, the best con is when you add a little truth to it."
"Huck! Why didn't you tell me all this?"
"It's not mine to tell. You just assumed a lot about him and he let you. The dude is loaded, and the move from Connecticut was really to strike out on his own and make a name for himself down here."
"How in the hell do you know all this?"
"Wether you know it or not Liv, people tend to talk to me a lot, because they know I would never put their business in the street. Not to mention, I would never let anyone get close to you without checking them out thoroughly."
Olivia smirked, "thank you Huck. You do know you are my very best friend in the world. Don't let Abby know that." They both laughed.
The van door swung open and Fitz was on the other side.
"What so funny?"
They both said at once. "You."
Fitz smirked, "hey you guys want to go get something to eat? Let's celebrate!"
"Let's go to the Vortex and the food and drinks are on me this time." Olivia said.
"Hey! Free booze and free burgers, I'm down for that. How about you Huck?"
"Nah, I got to get this tape cleaned up and put someplace secure, get the van back. Liv get me a single coronary bypass burger with tots and onion rings."
"Gotcha, the usual. Let's hit it Grant, or shall I say old man of the hour?"
"Don't press you luck Pope."
Olivia threw up her hand, "alright, alright. Touchy aren't' we?"
They got to the Vortex it seemed in a lull period because the were seated right away. After ordering their food and drinks. Olivia got a little curious about what Fitz had said.
"So, Daddy War bucks. That was quite some boasting in that room about your wealth."
Fitz blew out a breath and then looked her in the eyes. Her little twinkle and smirk made him laugh a bit. He lowered his head and shook it up and down a bit.
"So, I've blown my cover a bit with you as well. Listen, do me a favor and not mention all that stuff to anyone else. Cyrus has known me since I was a kid, he worked at one of my Dad's papers. I came down here to make a name for myself and I don't want my past following me down here. This is me Fitz Grant, old man to you."
Olivia chuckled.
"Your secret is safe with me. As long as you acknowledge that you are in fact an old man."
They both laughed out loud.
They both ate and talked until their hearts were content. Olivia ordered Huck's to go box. They drank a little to much, so Olivia called an Uber to drop off Huck's food and Fitz insisted that she help him walk off their food and she could take an Uber from his house.
They walked through the park as they had the previous time and sat and looked at the sky a bit, before they went to his apartment.
"So, I hear that you a bit of a sommelier. The one real thing I brought from home is a few bottles of French wine my Mom had stashed in the wine cellar. Would you like to sample one? Do you have an early morning?"
"As a matter of fact, Cyrus gave us the OK, to come in after 1pm tomorrow."
"Great your going to love this. It's a 2005 Domaine Leroy Musigny."
Olivia's eyes nearly popped out of her head.
"That's a $4500 bottle of wine!"
"Yeah, and I've been saving it for a special occasion. Getting the mayor of Atlanta and the Governor of Georgia for corruptions fills the bill. And not to mention a free meal to boot."
Olivia inspected the bottle as Fitz went to get some glasses. He handed her, her wine glass and opened the bottle and poured a sample for her to smell and taste.
"Well? What do you think?"
Olivia had closed her eyes to savor the taste of heaven in a bottle. She would have to say that if she knew what an orgasm was, this was it.
She opened her eyes to a twinkle in Fitz's eyes.
"You sir have made my year in so many ways. First the corruption, now the greatest bottle of wine I've ever had."
Fitz smiled and filled her glass a bit more and poured himself some as well. He escorted her over to his couch as they both sat down and just drank the wine in silence allowing the liquid to permeate their souls.
One side affect that Olivia was not expecting was the wine was really strong, it was making her inhibitions fade away with each sip. She watched as Fitz would lift his glass to take a drink and she could see his biceps through his rolled up dress shirt. He had taken off his tie and unbuttoned his shirt so she could see the hair peeking out of his shirt. They both had not noticed that they had started to scoot closer and closer to each other as they finished off the bottle of wine.
"So little lady, what are you up for now?"
Olivia sat her glass down and said, "this."
She leaned over and grabbed the side of Fitz's face and kissed him tenderly. He looked at her and they both smiled and Fitz slowly pushed her back onto the couch and slowly stocked across the couch and laid on top of her. Liv's legs spread to accommodate his large frame. He held himself up above her and pecked at her lips a few times before he plunged into her mouth. His tongue asked for entrance into her mouth and she granted it. Olivia had a little experience, but nothing on this scale. She finally knew what all her friends were talking about the difference with being with a man versus a boy.
Fitz's hand were everywhere on her body, but it wasn't hurried he was taking his time to explore her body. He was hard as steel and Olivia could feel him. They both started a sensual dance with their hips, each trying to satisfy the burning they had for each other.
When they both were almost at a peak, Olivia pulled away from Fitz and said, "take me to bed Fitz."
Don't hate me, but I thought I would give you a typical Scandal ending to this chapter. LOL!
