It happened during an interior design event I was holding one evening. Carlisle couldn't make it because he had to work late at the hospital, so he sent his brother in place of him. It started out as harmless flattery at first, but after I had a few glasses of wine in my system, it turned into something more.
"It was a mistake," I say, my voice cracking.
"A mistake," he scoffs. "You fucked my brother!"
"I'm sorry."
"How could you do this?" he shouts before slamming his fist on top of the counter, causing my wine glass to shatter.
