Title: A Single Drop
Torture: Water – July 7th
Author: Vixichi (tangerinefox)
Word count: 126
Warnings: None.
Chapter Disclaimer: I don't own Poe, obviously.
Today's theme/spin off is "a single grain of rice can tip the scales" or, in this case: "a single drop of water can drive Ichigo mad." Inspired by the Mythbuster's Chinese water torture episode. As suggested by a reviewer, incase someone actually doesn't know the original poem this is based off, look up "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe.
---
Once upon a midnight dreary, while he studied weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of educational bore,
While he nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a dripping,
As of some rain gently failing, flowing from the sink to the floor .
It's the faucet,' he muttered, dripping in the room next door -
Only this, and nothing more.'
And the dripping, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid cusp of the tub just next door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And his soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be silenced - nevermore!
