Chapter 1: I'll be king of the pirates
It was a beautiful day with a nice calm breeze and not a cloud in sight for the crew of a passenger ship as they sailed by a small whirlpool, a sudden thud against the side of the ship drew their attention. Looking down at the waves the two men on deck saw a giant barrel bobbing in the ocean, after a few minutes the two of them had managed to drag the barrel up the side of the ship and on deck "hehe, this thing is heavy it must be full of beer"
"Well I'm not giving up my half" the two men joked and just as they're about to open it up the lookout screamed down at them from above.
"WE'VE GOT PIRATES IN PURSUIT! GET THE CAPTAIN!" running for the captain the two on deck had dropped the barrel letting it rowel down the stairs and through the door into the kitchen.
(Up on deck)
As the pirates boarded the passenger ship a teenage boy with pink hair was cowering on the deck of the pirate ship *please don't make me do this, she could just over look me, please* "COBEY!" the boy known as coby jumped as he turned to an older rotund woman with messy black hair wearing a white cowboy hat, pink and white checkered shirt, and a blue captains coat with white shorts "what do you think you're doing" the woman said as coby scratched the back of his head.
"Well I'm not really good at this sort of thing" the woman scoffed at him as she stomped across the deck with her big iron club on her shoulder.
"You're telling me, maybe it's because you're so busy back talking me" seeing what she was doing coby stated to panic.
"NO NOT THE CLUB ANYTHING BUT THE CLUB!" the woman sneered at him before kicking him in the ass.
"then get your ass in gear!" he flew over to the other ship smashing his face into the planks before quickly scrambling out of the way as the woman fell from the sky after him, in his scrambling coby rushed down into the ship looking for an empty room so that he could hide when he entered the deserted kitchen. *sigh, thankfully it's deserted * coby thought as he began looking here would be something of value to keep the rest of the pirates from being to mad at him skipping out on the action, luckily he found a giant barrel laying on the floor in the corner of the kitchen.
"Wow, that's one big barrel" after struggling for a few minutes coby was rolling it out the door when three members of his crew came into the room.
"Well if it isn't our favorite coward, trying to hide in here and skip out on all the action again hehe" coby looked up in terror before chuckling uneasily.
"No way I was just hauling this big barrel of beer over to you guys" the older men smirked as they moved closer to the barrel.
"let's open this thing right here then, hehe, the old fashioned way" all of coby's complaints fell on deaf ears as the largest of the pirates moved the barrel so he could bust it open but as he brought down his fist another one smashed through the lid of the barrel hitting him square in the jaw causing him to pass out as a teen with black hair and black eyes wearing a straw hat, red vest and jean shorts popped out of the barrel.
"I SLEPT SO GREAT!" looking around the teen saw the three conscious pirates standing in front of him with their faces frozen in shock "who are you?" the pirates snapped out of their shock which turned to anger.
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!" the teen just ignored them as he climbed out of the barrel.
"your friend's going to catch a cold if he sleeps there"
"YOU'RE THE ONE WHO KNOCKED HIM OUT!" one of the pirates pulled out his sword and pointed it at the teen "are you messing with us even thou you know we're blood thirsty pirates" the teen completely ignored them as he turned to coby.
"hey do you know where I can get something to eat?" the pirate looked shocked.
"HEY! I'M TALKING TO YOU!" the teen just turn to them as the pirates ran at him. Coby closed his eyes before he heard a strange sound and looked back up to the stranger only to see the ends of the swords stuck in the roof with the pirates on the floor looking horrified up at the teen "w-who a-are you" the teen looked to them with giant smile.
"oh me, I'm monkey D. Luffy I'm going to be king of the pirates!" after this the pirates ran from the room to tell their captain what had happened. Luffy looked at where the pirates had been on the floor "what's up with those guys" *heh they were really weird, oh well* coby looked on as luffy passed him looking for food, when he finally managed to move himself of the floor luffy had found the food storage and had started munching on some apples.
"well I guess this is a safe place as long as no one else gets hungry" luffy turned to coby.
"so where are we" coby sat down as luffy grabbed some more apples before shoving them into his mouth.
"we're actually on a passenger ship that's being raided by pirates" luffy just nodded his head before swallowing the pieces of apple in his mouth *that explains those three earlier*
"so which are you pirate or passenger?" coby got a far of look in his eyes.
"it was on a fateful day long ago, I had stepped out onto a small fishing boat to catch my dinner, it turned out that the boat was actually headed for a pirate ship, in exchange for letting me live I've been forced to live the life of a cabin boy" luffy gained a frown as he looked at the cowardly teen.
"Well if you hate it that much why don't you just leave?" coby started shaking his head so fast luffy raised an eye brow at him *I hope that thing doesn't fall off*
"NO WAY! I CAN'T DO THAT the thought of alvida catching me scares me so bad I think I might puke" luffy started laughing *this guy is such a coward*
"You're a weakling and a coward, I hate people like you" coby gained a sweat drop *really that's what he got from that*
"Gee thanks for your honesty" coby looked to luffy as he started to eat more apples "so luffy why did you set out to sea" turning to the boy luffy smiled.
"I'm going to be the king of the pirates" coby's jaw dropped *I figured it would be something crazy but this is too much*
"Seriously? The pirate king?" luffy just nodded.
"Yeah" coby started sweating.
"Then you're a pirate?"
"Yeah" luffy said as he continued to smile at the shocked boy.
"Do even you have a crew?" luffy nodded again.
"yeah but it's only one other guy so far but he's really powerful, well he should be since he's a demon" coby froze *a demon is his first mate, there's no way, it can't be possible, right?* luffy waved his hand in front of coby's face before the boy stood up looking down at luffy.
"there's no way that your crew mate could ever possible be a demon and even if he was do you really think you stand a chance of being the king of the pirates in this great pirate era it's just not possible, not possible! NOT POSSIBLE!" coby's rambling and screaming were cut off as luffy gently punched him in the head "why did you hit me?" he mumbled from the floor as he held the area were luffy had hit him.
"cause I felt like it, coby listen I'm not doing this because I know I can, I'm doing this because I want to" luffy took of his hat and held it out in front of him "I promised the guy who gave me this hat that one day I will become king of the pirates, so if I have to die on the way then I die" coby looked up in awe at what luffy said *is something like that really possible, if you're willing to die for something can you make it happen* "well I better go get a new boat maybe they'll just give me one if I ask nice enough" luffy walked to the door as coby looked down at his hands.
"I guess I never thought about it like that, if I'm prepared to die for it could I do something like that?" luffy turned to him.
"Like what?"
"Luffy do you think I could join the marines?" luffy tilted his head and raised an eye brow in question.
"The marines?" coby jumped to his feet with his fist held in front of him and tears welling up in his eyes.
"Yes catching bad guys is all I've ever wanted to do, it's been my dream since I was a child, do you think I could do it?" luffy smirked as he watched coby work himself up.
"How should I know?"
"Then I'm gon'a do it, I'm not going to get stuck here as a cabin boy for the rest of my life I'll break out then turn around and catch alvida myself" just as coby finished his little speech the roof came crashing in as coby ran away from the falling debris. As the dust was starting to settle luffy heard a grisly voice from behind it.
"Who are you going to catch coby and you really think this twig is going to help you, well? ANSWER ME!" coby just stood there shacking all the courage he had gained from his speech had flown out the window. With the dust settled luffy looked at probably one of the ugliest woman he had ever seen when six swords came through the wooden walls behind him with three on each side that's when the woman looked up at him and gained a smug smirk on her face "I guess you're not zoro the pirate hunter" luffy looked at her with a raised eye brow.
"Zoro?" his voice was low so the baby whale of a woman didn't hear him as she shouted out.
"COBY" the poor teen gave a scream in terror "who is the most beautiful of all on these seas?" coby struggled as he wanted to tell her off but didn't want to face the wrath of her iron club, luffy took one good look at her before turning to coby.
"Hey coby who's the fat lady?" all the people who heard what he said froze in place as that was the worst thing he could have said to alvida no matter how true it is. The crew members standing by the hole in the roof started to back away as alvida gained tick marks all over her face.
"YOU RUNT!" she brought her iron club down smashing through were luffy was just standing as he jumped out of the way and down to coby.
"Let's go" luffy grabbed coby and jumped out of the hole as alvida tried to follow going the hard way in her anger. Leaping on to the deck they had slightly scared the three pirates standing guard over the entrance. Luffy gave them a quick grin as the first one gained some courage and attacked only for luffy to doge and head but him as the second guy came from behind as luffy's fist rocketed into his gut. Luffy jumped backward as four men tried to cut him down together thou luffy just stood up chuckling with a big goofy grin on his face, coby watched on in awe at how good of a fighter luffy was when he noticed a guy jumping from the upper deck to surprise luffy from behind. he was about to call out to him when a blur of red flashed before their eyes and the man that was about to get luffy from behind came down with enough speed to crash through the deck.
Blinking coby looked back at luffy only to see a girl with long blond and red hair flowing in the wind wearing a beautiful red kimono that looked like it was made of the highest quality silk that had gold trim and golden foxes decorating the fabric when she turned to look at them he could see that the sleeves draped over her hands a bit so her fingers didn't show, she had bright sapphire eyes with three thin marks on each of her cheeks that looked like whiskers with soft light pink lips as coby and the rest of the crew blushed at the beautiful girl before them she spoke with a voice that sounded like an angel singing.
"well, well look at all the trouble you've gotten yourself into captain" hearing the word captain from her lips coby looked at luffy who was smiling and chuckling slightly, coby connected the dots to a horrifying realisation.
"WHAT NO WAY!" the girl and luffy turned to him "luffy I thought you said that you only had one crew member and that he was a guy" *not to mention a demon there's no way that someone like her could be a guy or a demon* the other pirates just looked from the angel to luffy to coby. Luffy chuckled before he pointed his thumb at the angel.
"that's right this is my first mate naruto and I was telling the truth despite his appearance naruto is a guy" as soon as he said that the jaws of every man on the deck fell to the floor, luffy turned back to naruto who was slightly smirking as he enjoyed the chaos that the information caused "hey naruto this is coby he wants to be a marine" naruto nodded and walked to coby before kneeling slightly so he was level with the teen.
"well that is a wonderful dream just remember coby that no matter where you go let your heart guide you and stand up for what you believe is right" coby nodded with a blush on his face as naruto stood straight again just in time to see alvida crawl up out of the hole in the deck. When alvida saw him she grew furious at the beauty that stood before her, hoping to boost her confidence she towered menacingly over coby who was shaking slightly.
"coby who is the most beautiful in all the seas?" coby looked to luffy then to naruto as he placed his hand on the boys shoulder before turning to alvida with a determined look in his eye.
"that would be naruto! YOU UGLY OLD CRONE!" luffy out right laughed while naruto chuckled with a slight blush on his face as the rest of alvida's crew silently agreed with coby, while alvida was absolutely livid.
"What'd you call me?" coby kept going
"I'm going to leave and join the marines then I'm going to spend the rest of my life beating up dirty pirates like you and when I join the marines I'm going to catch your lousy ass first!"
"YOU'RE DEAD!" alvida shouted as she swung her giant club, coby screamed but stayed in his spot * NO REGRETS, NO REGRETS, I DID IT I SAID WHAT I WANTED TO SAY AND FOUGHT FOR MY DREAMS!* naruto stepped forward with a small smirk on his face.
"well said" coby looked at him as he raised his arm and caught the club in one hand the ground around him cracking with the force she had put into the swing "aren't you iron club alvida with a nice little five million belli bounty on her head" naruto smirked at her shocked look as luffy pulled his arm back and to the pirates surprise stretched it so far back it left the ship.
"gomu, gomu pistol" his arm shot forward hitting alvida at an extreme speed sending her in to the deck with enough force to kill her. The pirates and former pirate looked at luffy in shock.
"w-what a-are you" luffy smiled as he began to pull the corners of his mouth farther than was humanly possible to showcase his unique abilities.
"I'm a rubber man cause I ate one of the devil fruits" naruto looked out to sea where some dots were moving closer at a rapid pace *those are almost too big to be pirate ships unless they are big bounties but there's been enough excitement today* naruto moved quickly sealing up. Alvida into a scroll before turning to luffy as the rubber man let go of his cheek letting it snap back into place.
"captain I think it's time that we leave" luffy looked at him before nodding his head and turned to coby.
"you wouldn't mind sailing with us for a little bit would you" coby shock his head as he smiled at them.
"it would be an honor to sail with you to the next island" naruto smiled at the boys response before turning to the still staring crew.
"Hey would you guys be a dear and get us a descent sized boat? Please" with a little pout on his lips and a wink their way when he said it they all snapped out of the shock they were in with hearts in their eyes.
"right away". Within minutes they had a boat and were getting ready to take off when cannon fire sounded behind them, turning to look in that direction naruto saw two ships decked in the marine symbols and colors headed their way but before he could get a better look at the ships luffy had dropped the boat straight in to the water. Hearing a scream naruto turned to see a young girl about luffy's age with shoulder length orange hair brown eye's wearing a tight white and blue stripped shirt with an orange mini skirt, naruto held out his hand and the water quickly started pulling them to the nearest island.
