BELLA POV -age 3 (almost 4)
"Momma?" I asked, as I stared into my tiny mirror, watching her brush my long brown hair. "How long you gonna bwush hair for?" I pouted.
Mommy laughed. I loved mommy's laugh, it was twinkly like a song.
"I'm almost done with your honey, then we can go to the party." I squealed happily, and bounced up and down. Mommy laughed again.
"Bella! Calm down!"
"Sowwy momma, I'm excited!"
"I can tell! But you need to stay still, because otherwise you won't look pretty for Edward's party!"
I widened my eyes and stayed still.
Edward Cullen was my bestest friend in the whole world. He had been forever. He was four today, and was having a party. I was still three, but almost four.
Alice was three too. She was Edward's little sister, and one of my other best friends. She wasn't Edward's real sister though. She was adopted. That's what Edward told me. I didn't know what that meant, but mommy said Alice's real mom and dad gave her to Esme and Carlisle as a present when she was born.
They had another brother, Emmett. He was five, and already in kindergarten.
So were Jasper and Rosalie, who were five too. They were twins, but they had a different mommy and daddy.
The six of us were all best friends, but I liked Edward the most. I had other friends though, Angela and Jessica from day care, and Embry, Paul, Quil, Jared and Leah from La Push. Jacob was my best friend from La Push. Daddy and Uncle Billy went fishing sometimes, so Jakey and I played together. He didn't like Edward though, and Edward didn't like him.
"Done sweetheart!" Mommy said so I stopped thinking.
She stepped back, and I leaned closer to the mirror.
My hair was curlier than it normally was, with a bit clipped up by a purple flower that matched the bow around my white dress.
"Tank you momma!" I said as I stumbled off the seat and took her hand.
"It's okay honey!" Let's go downstairs!"
We went down and I looked around.
"Where's daddy?" I asked confused.
"He went shopping honey for groceries."
"What's that?" I wondered as mommy grabbed her bag.
"Vegetables and things," I scrunched up my face.
"Yuck! Why can't we eat candy?" I frowned. Mommy smiled.
"Because your teeth will go all dirty and then they'll fall out and you'll need ones in a glass like grandma Marie!" I widened my eyes.
"Okay! I eat vegetables!" Mommy laughed.
"Come on honey, you're gonna be late to the party."
I ran to the door and pulled on my sparkly white shoes, before falling.
"OW! Momma! I hurt!"
"Oh!" Mommy picked me up, and opened the door carrying me to her blue minivan. "Bella are you okay?" I nodded blushing as she put me in my carseat.
Edward lived in the big house in the woods, we could walk, but mommy wanted to drive.
"Good, now wait, I'll get the present."
She ran inside, before coming out with the small photo album mommy and I made wrapped in red paper. Mommy was an artist, so was Aunt Esme. They were best friends when they were in school together, and they both went to art school.
"Okay, you ready?" I nodded excitedly as mum drove away.

"Momma are you gonna stay?" I asked while we were in the car.
"No sweetheart, I have to finish a painting for somebody. Aunt Esme and Uncle Carlisle will be there though, and daddy will pick you up tomorrow morning."
"Okay,"
We were all staying for a sleepover, and I was excited.
I looked out the window into the forest, Edward lived in the middle of the woods that were near our house. Our house was big, but Edwards was MASSIVE! I went there all the time, and there were lots and lots of rooms.
"We're here!" I squealed as mommy stopped the car and I jumped out.
Mom laughed as I dragged her to the front door of the massive white house.
I rang the doorbell three times quickly.
"Bella, you only need to do it once honey,"
"No! That's the special doorbell! So Edward, Alice, Emmett, Jasper and Rose know it's me!" I explained.
Mommy laughed and the door opened.
"BELLA!" screeched Alice as she hugged me. I giggled.
"Hi Ali! Is people here?"
"No! Just you!" She grinned up at mommy. "Hi Aunt Wenee!"
"Hello Alice dear!" Aunt Esme came to the door.
"Hello Bella, hi Renee!"
"Hello Esme! I must be off, got things to do."
Esme laughed and gave her a hug. Mommy gave me a kiss and gave Esme the present, and my sleeping things before running to the car.
Alice pulled me in as Esme laughed, going to a different room.
"Come on! Edward is in his woom!"
She ran up the stairs and I followed, tripping up a lot.
"I need to get my dwess on! Mommy bought a new one!" She squealed.
Alice loved dresses and skirts, I liked jeans.
"Okay! Bye Ali!" She waved before running through the pink door.
I walked down, before going to Edwards room. I ran in, and saw the familiar bronze hair sitting on his bed. I grinned and jumped on him.
"Ahhh!" He yelled. I giggled.
"Happy birfday Edward!" he realised it was me, and gave me a crooked grin.
"Bella! I miss you!" he hugged me.
"I miss you too!"
"I four now!" he smiled. I pouted.
"What wong?" he asked worried.
"You're four! I still fwee! You won't like me anymore!"
"Yes I will! You're my bestest fwiend! I love you!"
"Really?" I grinned. He grinned back, making his green eyes light up.
"Really really!" he looked at my dress. "You look pretty Bells!" he smiled at me.
"Fanks Edward! You look nice!" He scowled.
"Mommy made me wear a shirt and tie!" he whined. I giggled.
Suddenly the doorbell rang four times, Jasper and Rose were here. Edward grabbed my hand and we went downstairs.
"HEY BELLA!" I heard a loud voice say, before I was trapped in a tight hug.
"Emmy bear!" I giggled hugging him back and ruffling his curly black hair.
He laughed and put me down, his blue eyes sparkling mischeviously.
"Come on Emmett! Jasper and Rose are here!"
Edward said, dragging me down the stairs. Emmett followed, but before we reached the door, Alice appeared and opened it. She was in a pretty dress now, it was like mine, but had red flowers on the skirt. Her long black hair hung loosely down her back.
"Wosie! Jasper!" She hugged them both and dragged them in.
"Hi Ali!" They said at the same time.
They came to Edward and both hugged him. They both looked very nice.
Rosalie was wearing a purple dress the same colour as her eyes, and her hair was curled nicely. Jasper was just in a plain t-shirt, and his hair was as curly as ever.
"Happy birthday Edward!" Jasper smiled at him.
"Yeah! Happy birthday!"
They gave me and Emmett hugs, and we ran to the living room where the party was gonna be, sitting on the floor.
"Who's coming Edward?" Jasper asked. He scowled.
"I just wanted it to be us, Tyler, Mikey, Eric, Angela and Ben. But mommy made me invite Jessica and Lauren! AND the people from La Push!" he sulked. I looked up.
"Is Jakey coming?" He frowned and nodded.
"Yay! It's gonna be so fun!"
"Jacob smells!" Rose said, causing Alice, Emmett, Jasper and Edward to collapse into fits of giggles.
"No he doesn't! Jake is my best friend!" I folded my arms.
"Sowwy Bella," Alice said. Edward looked at me sadly.
"I thought I was your best friend?" he said looking down. I felt bad and hugged him.
"You are! He's my 6th favourite!" Edward grinned and hugged me back.
The doorbell rung.
"YAY! PARTY TIME!" Emmett yelled causing us all to jump.
Jasper laughed, and soon we were all on the floor laughing as Emmett went to open the door.

The party was almost over. It'd been very fun, apart from when Lauren pushed me over. That made Jacob and Edward angry. They both went to tell her off, but Edward pushed Jake over saying I was his best friend, not Jacob's.
Flashback
We'd just finished musical statues. It was me, Lauren, Emmett, Alice and Jasper left. Everyone else was watching. The music stopped, and we all stood still. But Emmett lost his balance, and crashed into Jasper, who crashed into Alice, who crashed into Lauren. Lauren screamed, but everyone else laughed hard.
"Well done Bella!" Uncle Carlisle chuckled. "It seems you won!" I grinned as he handed me a chocolate bar.
"NO! That isn't fair!" Lauren screamed. Her face was as pink as her dress.
"Lauren, do you want the candy bar?" I asked holding it out.
She glared at me and walked over, pushing me to the ground.
"HEY!" I heard Edward yell.
"Don't hurt Bella!" Jacob said angrily. I stood up and went to the side.
Lauren cowered and sat down.
"Go away!" Edward yelled at Jacob.
"No, she my best fwiend!" Jacob said confused.
Edward clenched his small fists.
"NO! She MY best fwiend! Not yours!" He pushed Jacob over and stomped over to sit down.
Flashback over
Edward had been told off by Carlisle and had to sit in the naughty corner for five minutes. Jacob was fine, but I was mad at Edward, until he apologised.
People were getting ready to leave.
"Bye Angie! Bye Leah!" I called after my two friends whose mothers were here.
Leah's little brother Seth was asleep in his mommy's arms.
"Bye Belly!" Mikey Newton said, trying to give me a kiss on the cheek.
I squirmed away.
"Bye Mikey! See you at day care!" He frowned and Edward ran to me, scowling at Mike.
"He almost kiss me!" I said disgusted as he left. Edward giggled.
"Haha!" Then Jessica walked up.
"Bye Bella!" She gave me a hug.
"Bye Eddie!" he frowned.
"Edward!" he corrected. She tried to give him a hug but he moved closer to me. She pouted.
"Jess! Come on sweetheart!" her mommy called. Edward stood there frozen.
I laughed.
"She try kiss you!" I giggled. Edward stuck his tongue out and giggled.
Everyone had gone, only the six of us left, so we ran upstairs to get into our pyjamas.

"Open the pwesents!" Alice squealed.
We were all sitting in a circle in Emmett's room.
"Yeah! I wanna see!" Jasper said excited.
Edward tore open the wrapping of Mikey's present. The rest were in a pile. He'd gotten some toys which we'd all played with.
"Woah! A soccer ball!" Edward said excited.
"Yay! We can play soccer!" Emmett said happily, making Jasper's blue eyes shine.
"Edward, dere's a card!" I said.
He ripped it open and opened the card. We all looked at it confused.

"What does it say?" Edward said. Rosalie took it.
"Uhhh, Happy…Birthday Edward…I hope, um, you like your…soccer…ball, from Mike,"
"Woah! How'd you do that?" Emmett said amazed. She shrugged.
"Open ours next!" Jasper yelled, pointing to the blue present.
He grabbed it and tore it excitedly.
"Thanks Jasper! Thanks Rose!" He said grinning. I looked over.
There were four frames, each saying BEST FRIENDS on them.
"What does that say Jasper?" I asked pointing.
"Best friends Bella!"
"Oh cool!"
One picture frame had a picture of us all in it. Mommy and Daddy took us to have a picnic in the park. In the picture, Emmett and Jasper were covered in mud, sitting on the blanket, Rose and Alice were lying on their stomachs, facing the camera, and Edward and I were hugging, my head on his shoulder.
"Wow that's so cool!" Alice said.
"One left!" Edward said reaching for mine. I blushed as he unwrapped it.
"Wow…Thanks Belly boo!" he hugged me, as he looked at the big black book.
It had big sparkly writing on the front.

"Look on the first page!" I grinned excitedly.

"It's our birfdays! I did it myself!" I said proudly.
We all flicked through the pages, there were pictures of all of us, and of just me and Edward, and of everyone individually, but there were lots of empty pages so we could fill them.
"Thank you Bella!" he smiled at me. I smiled happily back.
Alice yawned, snuggling further into her sleeping bag. Aunt Esme walked up.
"Okay kids, time for bed!" She came round and kissed each of us on the head before leaving.
"Night Aunt Esme!"
"Night mom!"
"Night Aunt Esme,"
"Night mommy,"
"Night Auntie Esme!"
"Night mom,"
"Wait!" I said sitting up.
"What is it?" Rose asked.
"Polly is in my bag!" I reached for it, and grabbed my stuffed bunny holding it close and snuggling back into my sleeping bag.
"Night everybody!" Emmett boomed.
We all murmured replies, before everybody fell asleep. A few hours later, I woke up, needing the bathroom. I jumped out, tiptoeing to the hallway and went to the bathroom. When I came out, I saw Edward standing there, with sleepy eyes.
"Bella?" he whispered. I nodded. He ran forward and grabbed my hand.
"I tired," I yawned.
"Me too," he whispered.
We walked quietly into the room, when BOOM. I heard the first thunder clap. I clasped a hand over my mouth to keep from screaming. I hated thunder.
"It's okay Bella, stay with me!" He led me to his sleeping bag, and I cuddled in next to him.
"I love you Bella," he whispered.
"I love you too Edward, fowever."
