"Hello? Hello? Damn it"

Wade flipped the phone shut and reclined into the airplane seat. He had been trying to reach her since he left New York, to no avail. He knew he was wrong to leave her in the dark, to kick her out without so much as a warning. But he was prepared to remedy that mistake. He was prepared to make it all better. He looked out his window and gazed out at the sea of clouds. He swore, that should this work, should he be rid of this god-forsaken cancer, he'd never take a view like this for granted again.

Ever.

He closed his eyes, reclined slightly further in his seat and fell asleep. A rough nudge on his shoulder woke him up hours later, the same man who escorted Wade on to the private plane, had let him know that they had just landed.

"About damn time"

There were a few things Wade noticed upon entering the base. The first being its mass. The second being how full of people it was. Between scientists and military personnel, the place was packed. A giant cylinder made up of multiples floors, all of which had an intense traffic flow of people. This place was the real deal, and Wade was starting to feel a little better about the whole thing. That is, till he saw the basement.

The basement was the very bottom floor of the facility. It was a very dark place, with dim lighting, dark walls and a creepy atmosphere that made Wade nervous. He was escorted through the basement hall, catching glimpses of the different procedures taking place here. Blue-skinned devils, and scarred angels were all caught in his line of sight. Some were screaming, some were deathly quiet.

Somewhere in the dark of the Basement, Wade prepared for his own procedure, hospital gown and all. He found a mirror and smiled, waving at his reflection, one final farewell to the old Wade Wilson.

Soon he was on his back, looking into the eyes of the various doctors in which he trusted his life. They know what they're doing. Everything is going to be just fine.

"You'll see Wade. This procedure is not only going to save your life, but change it completely. You'll be a new man! A better man" That man had told him, the Department K agent who had invited him here.

"Put him under"

Wade closed his eyes and sighed. For years he'd wished for a fresh start. A chance to begin a new, to make things right, after everything seemed to go so wrong.

And all the voices that had haunted him. All the ones that tore him down, cracked him open, called him insane...

"Wade? Wade can you hear me?"

Will finally shut the hell up.

"Wade?"
