Updated chapter 2! Here it is everyone! I still don't own Fairy Tail or any references to anything that exists already. The story line is my own.

Lucy lay in bed, staring at her ceiling. It had been nearly three months since Natsu's death, and Lucy was more lost than ever.

The rest of the guild was doing slightly better. Gray had disappeared for a month following the guild service that was held for Natsu. He found the beast and used his demon slaying magic to destroy it for good. Erza had dedicated herself to training six hours a day, no longer able to take jobs until she thought she was strong enough to protect her own. Gajeel went on a training trip with Levy and Lily for a month, then returned closer and stronger than before. Everyone was getting stronger to protect their own, but Lucy couldn't bring herself to leave her room. She blamed herself.

A loud knock brought Lucy out of her thoughts.

"Go away," she said. Her voice was muffled by her blanket. A blanket that still smelled like Natsu.

The knocks persisted.

"Go Away," she said again, this time sitting up and with more force.

The knocking stopped for a minute, and Lucy laid back down. Then started again.

Frustrated, Lucy got out of bed to go to the door, but collapsed about three steps away from her bed. She hadn't eaten in days. Tears started streaming down her face once more. She punched the floor, but couldn't get enough power behind it to cause any damage to the floor or her hand. The door slowly opened.

"Lucy," said the person that invaded her safe haven. "He wouldn't want this. You know that." She looked up. It was Gray. He walked over and sat on the floor next to her. Lucy lunged for him, wrapping him in her arms as hard as she could. He held her there and let her cry.

"I know you were there. I know you feel responsible, but it's not your fault Lucy. No one blames you, so stop blaming yourself. Everyone has been worried about you. Have you been in here the whole time since the service?" He asked softly. She nodded against his shoulder. He sighed, then turned his head back towards the door. "Lucy, look towards your door." She brought her head up high enough so she could see the door. In the doorway stood Erza and Wendy. Lucy's eyes welled with tears again. The girls ran into the room and grabbed onto Lucy, pulling her into a tight group hug.

"Never do that again," Erza said against Lucy's hair.

"We were so worried about you," Wendy said as she sobbed.

Another tiny body joined in the hug after a few minutes. Lucy opened her eyes and saw a little ball of light blue hair.

"Lushy... I thought I lost you too," said a small voice. It was Happy. Lucy pulled him tight to her chest.

"I'm sorry Happy... Everyone..." Lucy whispered. She couldn't speak any louder, but all of her friends heard her. Erza, Wendy, and Happy released her from their grip.

"We forgive you Lucy, just never do that again. Let us grieve with you. It's not healthy for you do go through this on your own," Erza replied. The others nodded.

"Let's go to the guild, Lucy-nee," Wendy said. Lucy nodded. It was time to go home. She was being selfish when she locked herself in her house.

The girls helped Lucy take a bath and get dressed, then Gray gave her a piggy back ride to the guild.

Unknown to everyone, Natsu was watching over them. He saw all their pain and grief. He tried to talk to them, tell them that he was still there, he just needed some help to get out of the weird state he was in. But, no one could see him. No one could hear him. He stopped trying after a few weeks of failed attempts. He had instead turned to monitoring everyone in the guild, watching them in the guild hall to see if they were moving on. The only person he hadn't seen at the guild hall was the person he wanted to watch over most. Lucy.

The doors of the guild swung open. Mira looked up while holding a glass beer mug. The sound of that mug shattering echoed through the guild, causing everyone to look to the door. There stood Lucy, supported by Gray and Erza. Mira walked out from behind the counter, then ran towards the girl that reminded her so much of her little sister.

"Welcome home, Lucy."

Natsu saw the scene unfold; Levy ran up to Lucy and well and nearly crushed the poor girl with a powerful hug. Everyone came by to say hello to their missing celestial mage, who wasn't missing any longer. For the first time since his death, he smiled. His family was back together. Maybe now they could help him get out of this in-between state.

From the top floor of the guild, the master stood with his grandson watching the reunion. Makarov was more focused on watching the happiness return to his children's faces. Laxus, however, has his eyes set on the beautiful blonde that had just returned.

There we go! Whatcha think? Yes? No? Maybe? Take care!
