Chapter 1: The Feelings Of Gluttony
Dukrongruth, The Cannibal Dragon: Part II
A wide fallen tower in a foggy wasteland marks the entrance to this dungeon. Beyond the fallen tower lies a large, weary room. It's covered in dead insects, remains and broken pottery. A man in bright red armor was holding a torch, allowing him to see various treasures that had a silver glow that either shone as bright as the sun when the torch's light touched it. The man did not care about the treasure and simply walked past it like it was never there. Further ahead are stairways, but the stairway going up lead to a dead end. The stairway on going down, however, lead to a twisted and rotating stairway leading down into a dark void and the man in the red armor walks down the spiral.
When he finally got down to the bottom of the stairway, there was another huge room that was barely lit with small torches and was filled with ancient skeletons of giant monsters that were extinct. Upon further inspection, there were various strange symbols carved onto the skeletons of these colossal creatures that the dragon spirit in his armor vaguely recognized but couldn't remember. When he went further into the dark dimly room, the light soon began to fade and the man was just walking in pure darkness, only aided by the dragon spirit in his armor.
Eventually, the man in the red armor saw a light in the distance. It was a silver ethereal glow, a glow similar to the treasures he has found scattered outside the tower. The dragon spirit tells him to run towards it, saying that this was the source of the power the spirit has been feeling for the past three months. The man in the red armor complied with the spirit's request and ran. Despite the heavy and bulky appearance of the armor, the man was able to fly towards the light as fast as a moth to a flame. As the silver glow became stronger, the air became more suffocating and the aura it emitted felt more powerful.
The man was breathing hard, not from flying towards the glow or from the running, but from the air near the glow. It was suffocating him as he tried desperately to breathe the air near the glow. He was so close and he didn't want all those trials he's been through to go to waste. He has lost too many friends thanks to this damned temple, he was slowly going insane from it. Watching all his friends die in front of him and in his arms, telling him that he was a great leader and friend and that he'll see them soon, alive or dead.
It's been five entire years since he and his friends found this temple and decided to explore it. Maybe he would find the remnants of a lost civilization and he could find enough treasure in this temple for him and his friends to live in peace and luxury forever. After learning that if the person who completes all the trials in the temple, the being who constructed it would grant them any wish the brave adventurers wanted. He thought that this just completing the temple's trials would just take about a week at most to complete, but ever since they've passed the point of no return, they realized that they would be here for an extremely long time.
Now after five years of torture, the only companion he has left is the dragon spirit known as Ddraig, The Red Dragon Emperor. Ddraig was the only reason why the man had all the power and influence he has now. The only reason why he didn't die first on the first trial of the temple. The man has been training with the powers he was given by this Sacred Gear ever since he discovered what it could do. He has all since mastered all the abilities the Boosted Gear provides and has become known as Braydon The Godslayer.
This HELL that he's been through though, not even his great powers can save him from the physical and mental torture that the trials gave him. Braydon lost his last friend eight months ago and now he was alone. Now he only wished to have his friends to come back to life and leave this place forever. Now at the end of the giant room, there was the magic circle that would always transport people to the next trial. Braydon stepped onto the circle and disappeared in a flash of silver light.
Braydon braced himself for what horrors he would face but was inside a large room filled with treasure. There were huge mountains of foreign gold coins, priceless artifacts, intricate armor and weapons, various paintings, and the trophies of various large creatures all over the room. This must be the room of the architect who built the temples. In the distance, he could hear talking and when he went to check out where it was coming from, Ddraig was freaking out.
A giant silver ethereal dragon was speaking to someone with a voice that sounds like the collection of countless voices all distorted into one single voice. The dragon was constantly shifting through various dragon species as he spoke. The dragon also emitted the power similar to the ones in the tower, but instead of the subtle feeling of power where it was a little hard to breathe, Braydon was chocking on the air in the room. The dragon was also in a pond that looked a mirror and stayed still even as the dragon moved inside of it. After the dragon was done speaking, it breathed a cloud of pink onto the person that was talking to it and the person soon disappeared. The dragon soon retreated to its pond and there was silence in the treasure room.
Braydon yelled out Boost and was able to boost his power 100,000 times and was able to breathe easier now. He was heavily breathing back and forth to catch his breath and walked to the pond. In front of the pond, there was a sign that said 'Make a wish' and Braydon said his wish out loud.
"I want to have my friends back with me and leave this place forever."
After a few seconds, the pond was bubbling and soon rose out the same silver dragon from before. It took the form a giant hydra and looked at Braydon, but most importantly, his Sacred Gear. It soon laughed and said in a voice that made Braydon's vision blurry, "Do you know who I am?"
"No, I don't know-" Braydon who was a little disoriented replied, but was interrupted by the dragon.
"I was not talking to you mortal. I was speaking with the spirit inside your armor." The dragon said, this time as a classic western dragon.
Ddraig spoke through the armor and was speaking in a fearful voice, "No. I don't know who you are."
The silver dragon did what could look like a grin and said, "Hmm... You would think a powerful and ancient dragon like you would understand Dovahzul, the universal language of dragons. I guess I now know why you relegated to such a degrading role."
"What do you mean degrading role?" Ddraig asked angrily. He is still prideful of his power and of his status as a Heavenly Dragon.
"You must be stupider than I thought. Dragons are meant to dominate and YOU are serving a mortal that you should easily be able to command yourself. Yet it is the other way around. How does it feel to be used by a mortal? To be bent to their will and you can't do anything about it? Doesn't feel it degrading and shameful?"
Ddraig didn't answer that question.
"Heh... I thought your dragons are supposed so much better than mortals. So much smarter and stronger than them. Were you cursed? Sealed into that armor that mortal is wearing? How would you feel if you were to be restored to your original power?"
Ddraig still didn't answer the dragon's questions.
"As you may think, I am the architect and constructor of the trails you've been through. Every day, I see mortals wish for something they've lost during those... trials. Wishing back their sanity, the people they've lost during those trails... or to forget that they've ever gone through them. But I do get people that are strong enough to wish for what they've wanted from the beginning. YOU are one of those people who didn't succumb to insanity or grief."
"I don't think my partner is of sound mind then you are mistaken. He's been through a lot for the past five years and-"
"No. I'm not talking about the mortal human. I am talking about you."
"Me? Why?"
"I see know what everyone is thinking when they enter my temples. I know their every wish, desire, secret, and history up to this point. I know who you are Ddraig, and I know what you want. So I have one last task for BOTH of you. The first one to say their wish first, I shall grant."
"What will happen to-" Braydon tried to ask what would happen, but Ddraig saw this as the only chance he'll get to free at last.
"I WISH TO FLY THE SKIES ONCE MORE AND BE FREED OF THIS PRISON!" Ddraig shouted with passion.
"NO, DDRAIG! WHY?!"
"Your wish is granted Ddraig. Enjoy your gift." The silver dragon says as he begins breathing the same pink cloud as before.
Braydon tried to protest, but the deed was already done. A thick pink cloud engulfed Braydon and practically blinded him. But it felt strangely alleviating? He felt his body getting lighter by the second and he feels more energized. The pink cloud felt like another being and was softly whispering sweet nothings in the voice of his wife. The cloud felt warm and fuzzy, the same feeling Braydon gets whenever he comes back home to his wife and kid. It was comforting to hear her voice again.
After a few minutes in the cloud however, Braydon suddenly felt a huge weight on his shoulders crash down on him. A dark figure was beginning to form and quickly overshadowed Braydon as he felt his armor being stripped off of him. The deep growling of a dragon was heard all throughout the room and was deafening. The dark figure simply looked like a pile of a strange fleshy material, constantly convulsing and trying to shape itself into some form of a recognizable creature. It finally succeeded and the dark figure looked like a disgusting deformed dragon.
Braydon tried his best to get close to the dark figure and try to find out who or what this thing was. As he approaches the dark figure, all he could see is darkness as he traversed the large shadow of the strange creature. The only thing that guided him through the dark pink cloud was the sounds of flesh and bones convulsing and the deafening growl of the dragon.
Braydon knew he found the creature and the first thing that Braydon felt was heat. His hand sizzled like bacon when he touched what felt like the scale of a fire dragon. Soon enough, his vision slowly came back to him and he was face-to-face with the true form of Ddraig, The Red Dragon Emperor. Braydon has only seen Ddriag in his dreams and visions, so seeing Ddraig in person was a very strange experience.
The pink cloud soon subsided and revealed Ddraig in all his glory. Ddraig soon opened his mouth and Braydon realized what was happening. Braydon was attempting to run as fast as he could and try to get out of Ddraig's attack. Unfortunately for this unfortunate adventurer, Ddraig's fire breath was so hot, the physical flame didn't need to hit Braydon in order to kill him. Braydon soon burns to death before telling Ddraig that he will have his retribution and God will seal Ddraig back into another Sacred Gear.
During all of this, the silver dragon simply spectated the events that have occurred and roared at Ddraig to get his attention. Ddraig towards to his saivor and bowed to the silver dragon.
"So how does it feel to be out of that prison your captors call Sacred Gear?"
"It feels so strange being out of there. I feel so much more energized now."
"Interesting... So Ddraig, now that you're out, how would you like me to free that rival of yours as well? You both seem to have a long history of fighting each other and I don't think a single mortal man will be able to kill THE Red Dragon Emperor in his full power. Even with your rival's power."
"Do you truly think you can do that? What would be the cost of this gift? You'd surely want something out of this do you?"
"You would be correct Ddraig. You see Ddraig, I am no ordinary dragon as you can see. I may be what the mortals call a god, but I am so much more than that. I am a Paragon, the next heirs to the universe and its people."
"Tell me, what is a Paragon exactly? And who exactly are you?" Ddraig asked with curiosity and suspicion.
"I was hoping you would ask that question. My name is Dukrongruth, Paragon of Domination. We Paragons are beings of extreme power and influence that can rival a god. For you see, the universe is in a perpetual cycle of mortals overthrowing their masters. When the universe first came into being, beings known as the Primordials ruled the universe with mortals as their servants and slaves. During the creation of the mortal races, however, took pity on its creations and gave it a special command that will activate at random times. Mortals are bound to overthrow their masters and create a new race to rule over the universe. Of course, there will be mortals that will never ascend, but the ones who do become the masters of the universe."
"Do you truly think your 'Paragons' will be the next rulers of the universe? The gods in my world are far beyond mortal comprehension and will obliterate you if they are angered."
"But I and along with my fellow Paragons are no longer mortal anymore. I have also killed gods in my time, the first pantheon I killed, in fact, had a god who claimed to be the creator of all dragons. I killed him along with all of his kin and the rest of his pantheon for thinking so. Your god's arrogance shall be their downfall as have the others. For you see Ddraig, I go by a different title that will strike fear into all who know it."
"And what would that title be?"
"I am also known as Dukrongruth, The Cannibal Dragon. I consume the dragons who dare oppose me and they shall be reborn through me. All the voices you hear and the forms I take while I speak; those were the dragons who DARED to resist my will."
"You are a cannibal?! You eat your own kind for their power! For all my life I have done many horrible things, but I do not eat my own species! For all the power you have, you disgust me for what you do. I refuse to let a cannibal such as yourself live in this realm!" Ddraig says in rage and horror. His savior is a cannibal and even for dragons, cannibalism is extremely frowned upon and is punishable by death.
Ddraig boosts himself over 10,000,000 times and prepares for an attack, but Dukrongruth takes the form of a hydra and each of his heads bites down into Ddraig's body. Ddraig's power was being drained by the Dukrongruth's hydra form as Ddraig roars out in pain. Ddraig manages to escape Dukrongruth's grasp fly up to the ceiling on the treasure room where he cast down burning tornadoes that melt the gold in Dukrongruth's treasure hoard.
Dukrongruth roars in rage and changes into a wyvern to chase down Ddraig. The flapping of Ddraig's and Dukrongruth's wings spread the mountains of treasure around the room. Various artifacts, gold coins, and skeletons fly around the room at high speeds. As the gold flies around the room, Dukrongruth melts the gold above Ddraig and one hundred tons worth of molten gold fall onto Ddraig.
Ddraig roars out in pain and slows down as the gold made his wings heavier. Dukrongruth takes this opportunity to spew ice out onto his wings to freeze the gold and force Ddraig to land. The attack succeeds and Ddraig lands onto the ground. As Ddraig falls to the ground, the treasure falls to the ground and buries Ddraig in gold. Dukrongruth no longer cares for the safety of his treasure anymore and decides that Ddraig's world will be the one to replace his destroyed treasure.
Dukrongruth lands onto the floor and transforms into multiple fire dragons and begins melting the gold. Ddriag attempts to escape and boosts his strength. Unfortunately, the gold has finished melting and now there's an ocean of gold in Dukrongruth's treasure hoard. As he emerges from the molten ocean of gold, Ddraig is completely coated in molten gold and scream out in pain. Dukrongruth, however, is not done making Ddraig suffer for trying to resist him and his power.
Dukrongruth transforms into a Western European Dragon and takes Ddraig by the neck with his claws. His ethereal claws dig into Ddraig's flesh and Ddraig begins coughing up blood. Dukrongruth then throws Ddraig back into the molten golden ocean and transform into a dragon serpent to leap into the ocean with Ddraig.
Ddraig wanted to desperately roar out in pain, but doing so would only fill his stomach with molten gold and would surely kill him. His skin burns as Dukrongruth rips off his hide and scales to expose his soft flesh to the molten gold. Dukrongruth then bites off Ddraig's tail, rips off one of his limbs, and tears off both of his wings. This finally made Ddraig roar out in pain and the rest was history. Molten gold flows into his stomach as he roared and Dukrongruth then decides that Ddraig's punishment is over.
Dukrongruth pulls Ddraig's contorting body out of the golden ocean, Ddraig's body constantly moving and shifting in ways Dukrongruth never knew a dragon's body could move. It was a disgusting sight to behold. Ddraig was violently vomiting out the molten gold and large skeletons he swallowed, his flesh was now a shining golden shell as the molten gold hardened as Dukrongruth cooled down Ddraig's body with his ice breath.
Dukrongruth laughed at the formerly proud dragon and said to him, "This all could've been avoided if you never attacked me. You would've been out of here and fighting with your rival if you never attacked me."
Ddraig was too wounded and wasn't able to reply since his voice was completely destroyed by the gold. He couldn't even attempt a psychic conversation he was tortured that bad.
"Did you know that it's in our nature to dominate? Back in my homeworld thousands of years ago, dragons ate their own brothers for knowledge and power. I do not know the cultures and customs of your dragons, but back in my world, cannibalistic dragons was commonplace. The reason for my title, however, was because I personally hunted down each and every dragon on my world and killed them all. I absorbed their souls and made sure that they would never have physical bodies ever again. I truly hunted my entire kind to extinction."
Ddraig finally had the strength to attempt a psychic conversation with Dukrongruth and asked, "Why do you such a ravenous hunger for dragons?"
"Because of power Ddraig. It is a universal fact that all dragons respect power. We dragons have a propensity for wanting power and we WILL get it with any methods possible. Us dragons as a species are by nature greedy and gluttonous. That's why we hoard treasure, why we burn down entire kingdoms, and why we're all feared by mortals. I simply use the method that makes me feared amongst my own kind, making dragons like you easier to dominate."
"What will you do next then? Aren't you going to consume me and put me out of my misery? I have never felt pain even close to this in all my life."
"No. I'm not going to eat you for a few reasons. For all my great powers and influence, I am not omniscient. I'll need a guide for when I come to your planet and conquer it for the Paragons. Second, I want you to be an example for people like you and what I will do if anyone incurs my wrath. Thirdly, gold taste horrible and I prefer not to eat my own treasury."
"I won't let you conquer my world! You may have broken my body, but you will never break my will you monster!"
"Ohohoho, I don't need to break your will to have you as my guide. I have people that can do that for me, but I need you WILLING to help me."
Dukrongruth recited something in a strange guttural language and a large portal soon appeared. A few black-robed people soon came out of the portal and they greeted Dukrongruth in the same language. The two parties began speaking to each other until the people in the black robes nodded and began casting a spell. The spell lifted Ddraig's broken body into the portal and what Ddraig saw after this was a blur. He only remembered faint voices and Dukrongruth saying that Ddraig now has a new name.
Yuvonzaamjun, The Broken Golden Emperor; Golden, Slave, Emperor. The dragon freed from captivity, only to be forced to serve another master.
...
Somewhere on the moon, there is a large city that spanned an entire crater. This is an Azuran Moon Colony called New Halo and had millions of people living in the colony. The main city was called Gayle and was the major population center of New Halo. It's been five hundred years since New Halo went active and since then have been secretly convincing and abducting people from Earth to join New Halo. These were mostly people that nobody would miss and have rescued from over the centuries. Azura, however, became more aggressive and less subtle about their abductions and there have been reports since the early 1800s of strange blue lights and entire towns disappearing off the grid.
The people who were abducted were slowly spoon-fed the ideals and goals of Azura as they slowly brainwash them into being completely loyal to Azura. It wasn't until the late 1890s that the world's leaders were made aware of New Halo's presence on the moon and were visited by New Halo diplomats and explorers. The world's leaders were surprised, but as they learned more about Azura and their goals, they began to be more lenient towards them. This eventually culminated into a secret world order called, The Arbiters, keeping Earth's secrets and Azura's existence a secret to the world. As long as New Halo provides Earth with their advanced technology, they would keep their existence a secret until the time was right.
Soon enough, The Arbiters learned about the supernatural population on Earth, but Azura instructed them to not engage with them. Instead, Azura would keep a close eye on the various secret supernatural clans that lived in all part of the world and hiding in plain sight.
It wasn't long until the other supernatural beings on Earth found out about New Halo's existence in the 1900s after a long string of massacres when a group of Azuran radicals discovered large bases from the Devils, Angels, and Fallen Angel factions. Azura has a very strict no religion rule in their realm, since worshipping a divine entity will give them power. This policy was soon adopted by The Abribiter a few years after their conception. After much discussion and debate, the Azurans and Arbiters launched large scale attacks on all three bases to kick them off Earth. This would've been a losing battle for the mortals if it weren't for Azura's critical information on how to deal with these threats.
Armed with Azuran magic and technology, they were able to destroy their bases and confiscate everything in they found in the bases to be researched on one of New Halo's crater research facilities. The factions were enraged by this and attempted a siege on New Halo. The entire siege would last three entire years until Azura was able to destroy all traces of Fallen Angels, Devils, and Angels from the moon permanently with the general of New Halo's military personally destroying every base. When Azura finally ended the siege, the four factions got together and wrote a peace treaty with Azura.
Even after the signing of this peace treaty, tensions were extremely high on all sides and they never forgot what happened after Azura's attack.
The Devils lost many of their clans to both the initial attack from Azura and The Siege of New Halo, reducing the amount of pure-blooded devils they've lost to a very pathetic number. They've gotten to the point of desperation where they contacted the demons from the other planes of Hell and has asked for their aid. Some of them accepted to help at the cost of the devil's freedom. The current leaders at the time saw their freedom as a small price to pay for the devils to live on. When the new demons came to Hell, new Devil-Demon hybrids were born and became the dominant forces in the Underworld. The older generation of Devils was relegated to servant classes and the only ones who weren't forced into slavery are the former Four Satans and their future descendants.
The Fallen Angels are also in a similar situation as the Devils, with their already small population getting ever so smaller. Unlike the Devil, however, they have no way on contacting outside planes of Fallen Angels since they've lost the ability to contact other realms and planes of existence. The Fallen Angels have been getting even more passive and have been ordered to stay off Azuran territory if they value their lives. Their population is so small to the point where even the most insane warmongers and battle-maniacs know it will be suicide for their entire race if they go to full-scale war. Since then, they've almost cut off all communication of Earth and either the bravest or stupidest of the Fallen Angels would dare step foot on soil secretly protected by Azura or The Arbiters.
The Angels, unlike the other two factions, actually benefitted from this after they realized that two of their greatest enemies have been severely weakened. Their population remains relatively the same, but the exorcist has been getting more aggressive when it comes to the new Devil-Demons that have taken control of the Underworld. Another fortunate thing for the Angels is the new Devil-Demons don't care if the exorcist destroys or raids any Devil territories since the Devil-Demons have been culling the Devil population in the Underworld. As long as the Angels or exorcist don't invade Devil-Demon territory, they won't see it as an act of aggression. Heaven out of all the other factions have the best relationship with Azura and have mostly forgiven them.
The Azurans and The Arbiters have also had their fair share of losses as well. Despite them being able to fend off all three of the biblical factions in a siege, New Halo has sustained a lot of damage and a lot of their technology was destroyed. Various crater towns and cities were destroyed, many invaluable research facilities were lost to the siege, and thousands of people lost their lives. New Halo also lost the avatar Dukrongruth himself sent to them, but at least Dukrongruth's avatar was able to destroy the gateways that linked New Halo to all three realms that the invading factions came from.
Azura also lost a major teleportation device called The Gateway from New Halo to Earth. The Gateway was destroyed by the Devils and Azura punished them with a vengeance, with their secret weapon completely destroying the largest territory that the Devils held on Earth after the siege and before the peace treaty.
Travel between New Halo and Earth is still possible with The Arbiter's advanced space technology and Agents on Earth can still contact New Halo, but they can't go back to New Halo or get heavy reinforcements until New Halo repairs their Gateways. Ever since the 1950s, New Halo has been building up their strength on Earth and with the help from The Arbiters, they were able to get a huge following on Earth. In the present day, the Gateway's reconstruction is almost complete and New Halo could finally send in heavy reinforcements to Earth and enact a string of events Azuran Generals call Operation Revelations.
...
Imagine if you will, a seemingly infinite spanning room filled with mountains of gold and treasure. Mountains of treasure that were made of billions of gold coins, artifacts, and remains of the mortals and monsters that to fulfill their greed. Gigantic skeletons of various dragons and monsters are all over this gigantic treasure hoard, some buried under thousands of miles of treasure and some peeking out the various golden mountains. Various dried up humanoid corpses would also litter the treasure room, their remains only skin and bones after their body was exposed to the treasure room. There would also be long periods of treasure and gifts from all over the galaxy raining down from the ceiling.
In the center of this treasure hoard is a giant circular shallow lake. If one were to go to the very center of the lake, they would meet the owner of this infinite treasure hoard. The owner was a massive silver ethereal being that was constantly shifting and changing forms of various species of dragons. Its voice was distorted and sounded like millions of other voices were trying to speak. Just the tone and volume of his voice would make the entire treasure hoard vibrate, creating massive golden avalanches and unearthing more skeletons.
This was Dukrongruth, The Cannibal Dragon. Dukrongruth would praise the mortal who has braved this treasure hoard and found him. He would give the mortal who conquered his challenges a 'small' portion of his treasure and grant the mortal one wish. Most mortals simply wish to go back home or wish very carefully, like he was going to trick them. This would offend Durkongruth when mortals thought him of a lowly trickster genie. But the scale of each wish did not matter and Dukrongruth will grant any wish the mortal desires, even wishes that their gods couldn't or wouldn't even grant them.
Today, however, no mortal came to his lake and asked their wish to be granted. Dukrongruth was not just a wish-granting dragon, he was also conquerer and a deity known as a Paragon. He has conquered thousands of galaxies and millions of planets with his armies and power. Of course, Dukrongruth wouldn't have his infamous title amongst his kind if he were compassionate to everyone. He despises dragons who dare defy him and shall consume them in his ravenous hunger and savagery. Dukrongruth also despises those who call themselves Dragon Gods and believe that they control every single dragon in the universe. Dukrongruth shall prove them wrong as he consumes their kin and destroys them. For no god can control Dukrongruth and his ravenous hunger for souls.
Now in the present, Dukrongruth is looking over the reports that his general on Earth, Yuvonzaamjun, has given him a report that detail's New Halo's situation. He read over the history of New Halo and what has happened. He learned of the complete destruction of The Gateway, the various destroyed settlements on the moon, and the death of one of Dukrongruth's avatars. It disappointed Dukrongruth that his avatar was killed in battle, but ultimately decided to create a new one and send it to New Halo. He also gave this new avatar a portion of his own power so he can properly monitor it's activities and take control whenever necessary.
After creating this new avatar, he sent it to New Halo and he felt a little nostalgic and decided to base this avatar off himself during his adventuring years. It was a mute male avatar and would go by the name and title: Oblaan, The Avatar Of Dukrongruth. Oblaan had an armored robe and mask made of Heart Stone and gave him a daedric sword that had the strongest Chaos enchantment that a mortal can handle. He also gave Oblaan mastery over destruction and restoration magic, along with being an expert in one-handed swordsmanship.
Oblaan was also given the first magical artifact that Dukrongruth has ever created after he became a Paragon. The Ebony Soul Blade was powerful, but a fragile weapon. The blade is made of a pure black soul gem that would absorb the soul of anyone as long as it pierces through the heart. It can also store up to twenty black souls before being filled and can power an enchanted weapon for centuries at full power. However, the blade can easily shatter if it makes contact with any heavy armor and it would take an entire century before it would assemble itself back together.
After Oblaan's creation, Dukrongruth gave Oblaan life. Dukrongruth gave Oblaan a message to give the New Halo's council members and Yuvozaamjun. They are to construct a portal from Dukrongruth's realm to theirs so Dukrongruth can show any future invaders his might and the consequences if they dare attack New Halo. After Dukrongruth gave Oblaan this message, Oblaan was sent to New Halo through a magical portal and sent Oblaan on his way.
...
It was a stressful day for the higher-ups in New Halo. Reports of the Devil-Demons expanding their numbers even faster and the fact that entire graveyards being emptied wasn't a good sign. The Exorcist has also been getting even more aggressive with their campaign against the Devils that it's worrying the council. The Fallen Angels have been relatively quiet and they haven't done anything big yet.
Just last week, a squad of Azuran soldiers encountered a group of radical exorcist that burned a well-sized town to the ground and crucified everyone there. The exorcist claimed that these were devil worshippers and they simply doing their job. Stuff like this is hard to cover up from the public, especially of a town that size. The captain of that team ordered his men to kill all the exorcists in the town and free their victims. They soon sent their victims to the nearest Azuran facility for recuperation and to subtly induct them into New Halo.
On the same week, an Azuran patrol encountered Devil-Demon necromancers resurrecting an entire graveyard of people to increase the number of slaves in the Underworld. Unfortunately, the patrol was forced to retreat since the number of undead servants and Devil-Demons sorcerers were too overwhelming for one squad to handle. Suddenly, The Arbiters had to send someone to attempt to explain why every single grave has been dug up and why the bodies were gone. It was just easier to wipe their memories and restore the graveyard to make it look like nobody grave robbed the entire place.
Everything was just one huge headache after another. Fortunately, there was some good news as well. New Halo would have another avatar from Dukrongruth and was said that the avatar's name was Oblaan. Everyone was waiting for Oblaan's arrival and when he finally came, the generals of New Halo's military were the first to greet Oblaan. After a bit of confusion, they realized that Oblaan was mute and couldn't speak. They eventually got around this situation by teaching him Azuran Sign Language and it seemed to work.
Oblaan was updated on everything that had been happening and was given his first main objective. His mission was to try and cull the exorcist activities down on Earth, more specifically in Japan where most of the radicals and more powerful exorcist were located. It's also the place where a lot of Devil-Demons bases were and was also told to destroy any Devil-Demon bases he finds. After he was given a few books on Japanese and how to use Japanese Sign Language, a map to the region he going to, and a book on how people on Earth act. Oblaan was soon sent to Earth via space shuttle.
As the shuttle was heading towards Earth, Oblaan picked up on sign language and was reading about human culture. It was an interesting read, but he'll just decide to stay quiet and not speak until necessary. When he finally got to Earth, he had to wait a few minutes before The Arbiters found him and took him back. When Oblaan got out of the space shuttle, he greeted the people who found him and was given the rundown of their situation.
There have been multiple murders and strange fights reported in Japan that have caught the attention of the public eye and have been making headlines as of late. These murders involve victims that were involved with Satanism or were accused of being a Devil in disguise. The victim's age would not matter and the youngest the murderers have killed was a victim at age sixteen.
Oblaan was informed about the town he was going to. Kuoh is a town run by one of the Former Great Satan family, more specifically, The Sitri Clan to be more specific. These were Pure Devils and the entire Sitri Clan have hidden bases all over Kuoh Town. The only place where Azura knows where a major Sitri clan member spends the majority of their time outside in Kuoh Academy. Shitori Sōna, AKA Sōna Shitorī, is the only sister of one of the Former Great Satan and is president of the student council of their school. The Sitri Clan has no other allies in Kuoh and were just by themselves.
Oblaan was told that he doesn't need to step a foot in Kuoh Academy since there are already spies in Kuoh Academy and was told not to worry about that. Oblaan's objectives were to destroy the Sitri Clan's operations. Their ultimate goal is to kill every single member of the Sitri Clan and free Kuoh from the Devil's influence. They'll need to weaken their forces first and destroy their supply of Phoenix Tears.
Oblaan was also told that a company known as Phenex Laboratories were the source of the Phoenix Tears that will make their assault that much harder. Phenex Laboratories is a lab run by the Devil-Demons and is known to the mortal world as just a research company that has made major breakthroughs with cancer research. In reality, the ones in charge are conducting inhumane experiments and are using the family members of the Phenex Clan as test subjects for their experiments. The Phenex Family have been genetically spliced to the point where nobody could recognize them as sentient creatures.
Phenex Laboratories would be the first target before they attack the main Sitri Fortress. Oblaan would need all the help he could get with destroying the Sitri Clan, luckily for him, help would arrive in the most brutal and efficient way possible. The best kind of help one can get.
Author's Note: How's it going folks? Thanks for reading to the end of this chapter. If you read Another Mysterious World, I said that I was going to update A Wastelander & Cute Monster Girls next. Well, I'm having a hard time thinking of what my characters will say and do, so I just opted to work on this instead. I worked on this chapter long enough for me to just say, 'Screw it' and just finish writing this chapter.
Writing dialogue has to be one of the hardest things for me to do. Mostly because I don't want things to sound stupid and I want things to make sense. I also have a tendency to be thinking 20 chapters ahead while I struggle to write the second chapter. So yeah... I'll be sure to get that chapter done and get my crap together. Also, video games, school work, and chores will also get in the way.
So thanks again for reading my dumb fanfic and if you have questions, I'll be sure to answer them in next time I update this story. Have a good rest of your day now :D
