Chapter 2
Zoe's POV
I had a great holiday with Mum and Dad in Holland. But I'm happy to be back home, in Greenock. I put on my uniform, remembering the different events that occurred at Waterloo Road before I went away after last term.
I started to think about Kacey Barry. I wondered if she saw a doctor in the end about her gender. I wondered if Barry eventually accepted her in the end.
My Mum called me down for breakfast just as I was finished tying my shoelaces. I went down and had a bowl of porridge and a banana. I personally thought porridge was horrible, but I wasn't bothered to have an argument with my Mum over a bowl of porridge.
I left my house, shutting the door behind me and made my way to Waterloo Road.
Kacey's POV
Barry and I were in the bike sheds. He was telling me who I had to collect debt money from. I'm really happy me and Barry are kind of mates again.
I took the list from Barry and walked towards the gates to start my duties when right there I saw her. I thought I was going to faint.
Zoe's POV
I reached the school gates and I felt great to be back in school. As I walked through the gates, I saw Kacey walking up to the gates. I ran over to her to say hi.
"Kacey!"
"What are you doing 'ere?"
"I was on holiday. I told you that before I went. "
"Yeah well you should of stayed there"
"What's wrong?"
"Just shut it will you?" as she walked off.
I didn't understand. I thought we were friends. Maybe more than friends. Why was she mad at me.
Kacey's POV
Why did she have to come back? Barry's gonna flip if he sees her. I'm already mad at her, but Barry always overreacts with everything.
I'm mad at her because she left me during tough times when needed her most. Where was she when I started seeing the doctor? Where was she when I changed my name to Robbie? Where was she when Steve-O hurt me?
But deep deep down, I still really like her, and I don't know why...
