And now the second installment of the new Unexpectedly! Yay! Hope you guys like it, I'm going into their interactions a lot more than I previously did and I'm liking it a lot better.

Hope you do too!

Natsu sat in his homeroom class barely able to keep his eyes open. He hadn't been able to sleep much in the last week. He was somewhat nervous for school to start so he had been studying every day for hours upon hours. And to make things worse, he couldn't get that mystery girl out of his head.

She haunted him.

He would dream of their encounter together that night at the party. Just a few simple sentences from her and he was hooked way beyond what he had ever been before. He didn't understand it.

She was just a girl.

He didn't even know her name.

He had only met her for five minutes.

Only talked to her for three of those minutes.

And yet she was the one that continued to be in his dreams. He would wake up angry and aroused. Why was that? He couldn't fathom a simple explanation as to why he was being like this. It simply didn't make sense.

He even went as far as going through the school records. It was helpful having the principle of the school be his uncle. Gildarts Clive was a very respective man. Out-going, cheerful, always willing to help out a student if need be. And boy did Natsu need help.

After Natsu had explained why he was needing to see the school records, Gildarts was floored. Never had he expected Natsu, of all people, to need those to find a girl.

They argued of course- over the course of two days. Gildarts knew he wasn't supposed to let Natsu look through the files. They were closed to everyone but school staff for a reason. They held way too much personal information about each student to let one nosy kid look through them all. But after hours and hours of debate, Gildarts agreed to let Natsu only look at the pictures of students and when he found the girl he was looking for the principle would tell him her name.

That was all he asked for in the first place.

But he had no luck. No luck in finding a single girl that even remotely resembled his ghost of a blonde. Not a single picture looked like the girl that would haunt him for the rest of his life.

His worst fear had come true then. She really wasn't going to be coming to Fairy Tail. He was never going to find her. She was a ghost. A ghost that he was never going to get out of his head.

Natsu sank lower in his chair. What was this feeling he was having? He had never experienced something like it before. The hopelessness that coursed through his body. He didn't like it.

He glared at the desk he was sitting at. The seat he would have to occupy for the rest of the semester. The same seat where he realized he would never see his dream girl again. It made him angry. He wanted to punch it out of frustration.

"I'm so sorry I'm late Mr. Conbolt. I couldn't find the right home room." Hearing that voice made Natsu return to reality. That voice sounded just like her. God, he was losing it. He was hearing her, dreaming of her, what was next? Seeing her? He needed to get a grip.

"That's fine young lady, first days are a little confusing. Go ahead and introduce yourself to the classroom." Natsu wasn't paying attention anymore. He was focused on his desk again. Maybe if he stared at it hard enough Mr. Conbolt would think he was having an aneurism and send him to the nurse's office. That would be a lot better than sitting here moping.

"Here's my dry-cleaning bill." The voice he had heard earlier said as a thin sheet of paper slid in front of where he was staring. "I accept all forms of payments including cash, check, debit, or credit."

Holy shit.

Natsu's head snapped up so fast he was surprised he didn't snap his neck. He was dreaming. He knew it. He had fallen asleep while glaring at his desk and was now dreaming of her. This was an odd setting for a dream though. Normally his dreams were far away from this school. Like a beach.

Natsu almost smirked. What a sight it would be to see her in a bikini. He tried to get the dream to change- her sitting there in a bikini, but nothing was happening. She still sat there, a confused, irritated stare on her oval face. Why wasn't she changing? Unless… Unless.

"So what, are you a mute now?"

No way. There was no way. He there absolutely no possible way. He looked through every single picture of current students and soon to be students.

Natsu continued to stare at the girl, mouth slightly agape in awe. The blonde snorted.

"Deaf and mute. Plus you like to run into people at parties and ruin their outfit. Man, oh man, should I be sitting here? I kind of want to know if I should move now or not since these are going to be our seats for the rest of the semester." Natsu maintained his stare. He simply couldn't believe she was here. He searched and searched and could never find her. And now she was here? It wasn't possible.

"You know," The girl leaned in close to Natsu, her (oh so very real) breath tickling his face. "There is a spot back there by some hot blondie. Maybe he's not a mute and will know how to show me a good time." That snapped him right out of it.

"Move that cute little ass of yours out of that seat and we're going to have a problem." That got a playful smile out of her.

"Oh? Is that so? Well, I guess I wouldn't want to have a problem with you. You are pretty good at ruining good clothing." The blonde tilted her head to the side, her golden locks falling over the side of her face and his desk. "I wouldn't want to risk being on your bad side."

Natsu stared deep into her brown orbs, trying to get gain the upper hand. He could read people so easily, but this girl was being difficult.

"You're right. My bad side isn't something you want to be around. I'm not a very nice person. Just ask your clothes from the party. I'm sure they would tell you all about it." Natsu smirked mischievously.

"Oh, they told me all about how you're a cruel, cruel man." The girl laughed out. Her voice sounded like music to Natsu's ears. Beautiful music. The kind of music he could listen to all day, every day.

What was this girl doing to him?

It was a phase.

It had to be just a phase.

After a few months of this he was going to get bored. He knew he was going to.

And yet, part of him knew he was never going to get bored of her.

"So, I never got your name at the party. Care to tell me it now since you're going to be sitting in front of me for the entire semester?" Natsu leaned forward on his elbows, bringing to two of their faces closer. The girl's smile widened.

"What, you didn't hear me say it when I stood in front of the class?" Natsu shrugged, but held his grin.

"Nope. I was too busy thinking of you to listen to you." The blonde snorted and rolled her eyes.

"Well, that was smart. I guess you'll never get to know my name." She turned around in her seat, flinging her hair just enough for it to flick across Natsu's face.

It was so soft.

It was even softer than he had dreamed it would be.

It even smelled as good as it felt. And he had only just had it flick across his face.

Natsu sighed.

What he would give to be able to run his hand through her hair whenever he wanted.

Wait.

She stopped talking to him.

She was playing on her phone.

Was she that bored of him already?

He stood up slightly in his chair so he could peak over her shoulder.

Candy Crush!

She was playing Candy Crush instead of talking to him for crying out loud!

Natsu was almost upset. He needed to get her attention back on him.

He tapped her shoulder quite aggressively and sat back down waiting for her to turn back around.

Instead of turning her body around like a normal human being would have, she flipped her head so she was looking at him upside down.

"Yes?" The quirky smile she gave him had his knees go weak.

This damn girl.

"Why are you ignoring me?" She considered the question for a brief moment.

"Because I thought we were done talking." It was Natsu's turn to snort.

"Sweetheart, we will never be done talking." That got her to turn around. A playful smile danced on her lips.

"Yeah? And why's that?"

"Cause I like the sound of your voice." She rolled her eyes again. Natsu kept thinking that if she kept doing that, her eyes were going to get stuck like that.

Damn his mom for burning that into his memory.

"My, my, you are quite the talker!" She leaned forward, gripping the back of her seat. "Tell me, do you practice these lines when you're alone in your room at night?" Natsu gasped in mock terror.

"How did you know?!" The radiant smile she was giving him shouldn't have affected him as much as it was.

But it did.

Way more than he was comfortable with.

It wasn't fair.

"I'm physic!" Her voice came out so excited it was shrilled slightly. It made Natsu laugh.

He could so get used to this.

"Natsu! Lucy! Quiet down over there!" Mr. Conbolt yelled at the two seniors. Natsu's grin turned smug.

He knew her name now.

Lucy.

It was beautiful.

Who knew a name so common and ordinary could be so extraordinary?

"So, Natsu is it?" Lucy asked. Natsu nodded at her, satisfied that the teacher yelled at them.

"And your name is Luigi?" Lucy laughed.

"Why, yes, Natsu! My name is most definitely Luigi!"

She even knows how to keep the joke rolling.

Dream girl, right here.

"Knew it. You sorta look like a Luigi. Just grow a mustache and wear a green hat and you'll have everyone fooled." Lucy continued to laugh to the point tears were starting to escape from her big, brown eyes. Natsu couldn't help but chuckle along with her.

Her laughter was contagious.

He could definitely get used to this.

"And you could totally pull off being Mario." Lucy smirked at him. "Your hair is already half way there!" Natsu scoffed.

Nobody talked to his hair that way!

"As if! My hair is salmon colored!" Lucy snorted.

"Whatever floats your boat there, Princess." Natsu was about to say some smart-ass comment back, but Lucy interrupted him. "But, hey, Mario suits you. Just grow a mustache and wear a red hat and you'll have everyone fooled." Lucy copied exactly what Natsu had said about her earlier.

Suddenly he remembered something.

"This isn't going to work." Lucy's brow furrowed in confusion.

"Why not?"

"Because Luigi is a lot taller than Mario. And you are most certainly not taller than me." Lucy smirked.

That smirk though.

It was going to be the death of him.

He could feel it in his bones.

"I guess I'll just have to wear heels."

Natsu liked the thought of that. Lucy strutting around in high heels, illegally short skirt…

He better not have been drooling.

That wouldn't get him any points in this case.

"What classes are you taking?" He asked suddenly out of curiosity. Lucy looked puzzled for a moment, but quickly reached in her bag to get out her schedule.

"Highlighted ones." Natsu heard Lucy say, but was too busy quickly going through the classes to see if any she was taking matched his.

Ah, and there they were.

AP English, Physics, AP Biology, Calculus, and Government. Five out of the seven classes. That wasn't so bad. He only wasn't going to see her for two hours out of the day. Plus they had homeroom together.

He could so handle that.

"So you're a theater nerd, huh?" He eyed the blonde, waiting for her answer. He noticed it was her third class of the day. What was his even? He couldn't remember.

Oops.

"Guilty as charged." She smiled at him. "Lemme look at your schedule." Natsu quickly obliged, digging through his backpack and grabbing the sheet of paper. He watched her with great interest as she looked over his schedule.

"We have almost every class together. The only ones you're taking and I'm not is JMG and Art."

Oh, yeah, JMG was his third class. Good thing that problem was solved.

"Yeah, you're just into the real artsy stuff like Orchestra and Theater." He teased. Lucy rolled her eyes.

"Only because I've been playing the piano since before I could even walk." She looked at him curiously. "Art, huh?" Natsu nodded.

"I'm not too bad at artsy stuff like drawing and painting, but I like to take art class to better enhance my skill level."

"How about all these smart kid classes?" Her grin widened.

"All the AP courses and stuff?" She nodded. "Well, Luigi, it's because I'm actually smart." Lucy's snort turned into a laugh.

"You?! Smart? I bet you cheat your way through the entire school year." Natsu was actually shocked.

She didn't think he was smart.

Did he look dumb?

Was 'raging idiot' tattooed across his forehead?

Did halfwit have a smell?

Did he smell?

"What makes you think I'm dumb?" He asked honestly curious about what her answer would be.

"Um, you're a playboy obviously. And playboys are not smart. Period."

She thought he was dumb just because he liked girls…

Rude!

She was rude!

Rude most definitely had a smell and she stank of it!

"You're rude, you know that?" Lucy blinked.

"Why's that?"

"Just because I like girls and like to have a good time, you think I'm dumb!" Lucy gaped at him.

"Are you actually smart or are you just mad at me because I called you dumb?" Natsu was floored.

"I'm actually smart!" Lucy's eyes narrowed at him.

"What's your GPA?"

"4.8." Natsu had never seen someone's jaw drop so low before.

"How the fuck?"

"I told you I was smart." Natsu was enjoying seeing Lucy look flabbergasted.

"How do you even get it that high?!" Natsu shrugged.

"I guess lots of extra credit and being able to even outsmart a book that is supposed to be teaching students. I do a lot." Lucy looked at him in complete and total awe.

He liked that look on her.

It almost looked like she worshipped him.

Yeah, he definitely liked that look.

"I'm honestly jealous." Natsu raised a brow.

"Why?"

"Because I was the smartest person at my old school with a 4.3 and now you're telling me you're a whole .5 points ahead of me? It's horrid." Natsu grinned.

"Plus you have Levy, Erza, and Gray to worry about. They're close behind me all with 4.6 GPAs." Lucy huffed.

"Jeez, I need to be in your smart kid group." Natsu's grin widened to the point where he didn't think it was possible to stretch anymore.

"Natsu, Lucy, are you two going to continue giving me a problem sitting next to each other?" Mr. Conbolt sighed, rubbing his temples.

"No sir, we are definitely not." Natsu told the man, but kept his eyes trained on the blonde in front of him. "Wanna be partners in crime?" Lucy laughed, but held out her pale hand. Natsu beamed and grasped her hand in his.

Her hand was so soft.

So warm.

So inviting.

"Partners in crime." And they shook on it.

REVIEW! Bye, loves:)
