*** I'm sorry I have taken so long to update, I seem to have nothing but problems with this site, it does not save the changes I attempt to make to my documents and it does not space them properly. Everywhere there is a line is supposed to be a skipped line, a space. The site doesn't save my edits to the HTML of the document which is how I have to add the spaces. I get very frustrated by this because I have OCD and usually just say forget it but I know some of you wanted more of the story so I'm just going to have to post and hope you can figure it out.
Chapter 2
Renji stared at her in disbelief.
"Aren't you even the least bit concerned that your aunt was just sentenced to death?!"
"No."
Arya calmly set aside the mission report she had been working on and leveled a somewhat steely gaze at Renji.
His eyes widened and he took a half step back and gulped.
"I just... you see... it's like..."
"Shut up Renji."
"Yes ma'am."
As he made his way hurriedly from her presence he tried to make sense of her reaction. She loved her aunt dearly,
there was no way she was actually ok with any of this but she was in full Byakuya-mode which meant it was no use trying to talk to her. Was she truly that loyal to her father and their family that she would except this without question? That just wasn't like her.
She sat back in her seat after Renji had left and let out a sigh.
'I know you don't understand right now Renji,' she thought as she looked out the window onto the courtyard. 'You have to trust me that everything will work out the way it was meant to. I just hope you don't do anything stupid in the meantime.'
She glanced back at the papers on her desk.
"So much for getting any work done today."
