I DO NOT OWN THE VAMPIRE DIARIES
A/N: Hi guys. How are you doing? Here is chapter 2. I hope you enjoy it.
Tyler drove as fast as he could home. His heart was beating so fast and so loud. He felt he almost couldn't breathe. "What is going on with me?" He thought.
He ran straight to his room and lay in bed with his eyes closed.
His mom heard him close his bedroom door loudly. So she knocked on the door and asked: "Tyler, are you feeling ok?"
"Yes, mom." He said with a weak voice.
She just left him alone, because she knows him. If something was up with him, he will come to her himself.
He was still laying on his bed, when he heard his phone buzz. He picked it up and saw that it was Caroline. He ignored it.
He couldn't help thinking back about what happened that day.
*flashback*
"Tyler and Caroline say cheese!" My mom said to us. We made a lot of pictures that day. My mom loved it, when Caroline came over to have a play date with me. Her mom dropped her off at 9 AM and we had a lot of fun.
I still remember what Caroline wore: A beautiful pink dress that went to her knees and white flat shoes. Her hair was in a long braid. When we were 9, I really liked her.
Caroline and I were playing in my backyard when we heard a loud thud. It came from our living room; she and I ran there as fast as we could.
But we were stopped by our butler. Henry told us to stay outside, because something happened and it was better if we didn't see the mess.
He and my mom were going to clean it up and tell us when we could come inside. I didn't want to listen, but Caroline was scared for us and dragged me outside.
We waited almost 3 hours outside, when my mom called us. We went straight to the living room where we heard the loud thud. But everything was in place, except a small statue we had in the living room. I asked Henry where it was, but he said something about my mom giving it to charity.
"Where's my mom?" I asked. 'She is getting ready for the charity event." Henry said.
"Henry, tell me what happened today!" I begged. "It would be better if you talked to your mom about it." He said and left.
Caroline and I knew that something terrible just had happened. We could feel it; she looked at me with those gorgeous blue eyes. You could see that she was terrified.
I was scared too.
My mom came down the stairs and looked at us; she was wearing a nice dress and looked very pretty.
"Mom, what happened today and why are you going out alone? Where's dad? He should have been home half an hour ago." I asked.
"Your father is still at work and will be meeting me at the event later on tonight." She said.
But Caroline and I could hear in her voice that something was horribly, horribly wrong.
She never talks to us like this, with that distant and cold tone.
But we also saw in her face that we should not ask more questions. So we stayed quiet and watched her leave. We asked Henry again what happened, but he said he was going to bring Caroline home. Her dad was waiting for her. So I said goodbye to her, she told me to call her if I needed to talk. And that we will see each other in school. I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and said good bye.
I called my dad at work, but his secretary said that he went home as usual. Because he was going to the charity event with my mom.
I couldn't believe my ears. WHAT? I thought. But my mom said he was still at work.
This is getting weirder and weirder and I am getting more terrified by the second.
The loud thud that Caroline and I heard, was it my dad?
Did something awful happen to my dad? Did he get hurt? And who was the one who hurt him? My mom? Henry? No, it couldn't. Because my mom loved my dad and Henry was always good to my dad. I clearly needed Caroline right now.
I called Caroline's house, but her dad picked up.
"Hi, Mr. Forbes. I asked. "Can I please talk to Caroline?"
"Sorry, Tyler but Caroline went to Elena's. They are having a slumber party. Didn't she tell you?
"Oh yes, she did. I forgot" I lied. She didn't tell me.
I hung up the phone and heard Henry coming back. He went to the kitchen to make dinner, so I went up stairs to my room.
I sat on my bed and thought of the craziest things.
Where in heaven name is is my dad? He's not here, he's not at work and he's not with my mom. I was really getting worried. I fell into a deep sleep, because of all that happened during the day.
I woke up by my mom calling my name. "Tyler, wake up." she said.
I opened my eyes and saw my mom with tears in her eyes and a note in her hand. I looked at the clock in my room and saw that it was 1:30 AM.
"Mom? I asked. What's wrong?" I was terrified. She just handed me the note and walked away. My hand was shaking and I opened the note to read it.
It was a note from my dad saying that he was so sorry and that he loved us, but met another woman. That he was going to leave with her and her son. And that I should not try to make contact with him. That he wanted to be left alone in peace.
I couldn't believe my eyes. I went to my mom, she said that my dad came home that afternoon to say good bye. That she tried to stop him, but he refused. There was a struggle and the statue fell to the ground. That was the loud thud Caroline and I heard" she said.
He was gone. My dad was gone and there was nothing I could do. But an alarm bell rang in my head, that something wasn't right. Something about her explanation was so off. But I was too devastated to listen to it.
I ran to my room with tears in my eyes and the note in my hand. Crying hysterically. I needed Caroline, I needed my best friend.
I called at Elena's house, but her father answered and said that the girls were out having ice cream with Elena's mom. He asked if he should give Caroline a message, when she got back. But I said no. "I will see her at school tomorrow" I said. I was furious at her. She is having fun, while I am hurting like this? I need her more than ever and she's not here for me? I am ALWAYS there for her. When she needs someone to talk to, to scare of the bullies at school, to comfort her when her parents are fighting. But now that I need her the most. She's not here for me? She's having fun, while I am here, broken like this?
I cried myself to sleep that night.
*END of flashback*
That day was the worst day of my life. My life changed overnight. I not only lost my dad, but also my mom. She changed into another woman who only goes to charity events and only thinks about her duties as the mayor of Mystic Falls. We were close when I was little, but all that changed from that day till now. That day I also lost my best friend. Or should I say, she lost me. She lost me for good.
Here I am again. What do you guys think really happened to Tyler's dad? Did his mom tell him the truth? Or was it ALL a big, fat lie? Do you want to know what was going through Caroline's mind, when she was with the girls?
