Alfred's POV

Chapter 2:

"This is so good," I mumbled, taking another bite on my hamburger. Matthew, who was sitting across from me, chuckled at my statement. I stuck my tongue out at him once I had swallowed my food, keeping a firm grip on the hamburger. "It is good!"

"I know Alfred," Matthew admitted, watching me with a close eye. "I can tell. You eat them all the time."

I chuckled, setting my hamburger down on the plate in front of me. "Well, duh!" I exclaimed. "Hamburgers are awesome! Don't ya agree Mattie?"

Matthew raised an eyebrow, tilting his head to the side. He shook his head, taking a bite of his pancakes. I rolled my eyes, taking another bite of my hamburger. Matthew didn't know what he was missing out! I mean, hamburgers are the definition of delicious! Am I right?

"How could you not like hamburgers Mattie?" I cried, gaining the Canadian's full attention. He looked up at me, shrugging his shoulders.

"I like pancakes," he whispered, looking down at his plate.

I laughed rather loudly, placing my hamburger down once more. "Of course you like them! You kind of eat them all the time!" I exclaimed. Matthew stuck his tongue out at me, placing his fork down on the table.

"And you eat hamburgers all the time," Matthew repeated, looking back up as I took a rather long drink of my Coca Cola. "Which isn't the healthiest thing in the world but, there's nothing I can do about it."

I chuckled, setting my drink down. "Yeah, but, dude. How can someone not love McDonalds?" I asked, leaning forward. Matthew shook his head, smiling softly. "I mean, come on! It is so good! And Iggy thinks I need to go on a diet. PSSH. One has not tasted food until they have tasted McDonalds! It's a quote and you always listen to quotes!"

"And who made the quote Al?" Matthew asked.

"THE HERO!" I yelled, fist bumping the air. Matthew chuckled quietly, taking a sip of his drink.

We stayed quiet for a minute and really, that gave me a moment to eat my burgers! I was so hungry anyway and I needed to eat them! Matthew wouldn't eat them so it was up to me, the hero, to eat them!

"Oh, Al," Matthew started, catching my attention. "We have another World meeting today, don't forget."

I automatically groaned, leaning back in my chair. "Seriously?" I asked, earning a nod from my brother. Another groan escaped past my lips. "Why was I never informed?"

Matthew sighed, shaking his head. "Alfred, you kind of helped announced it yesterday," Matthew informed me. My eyes widened in pure surprise, not remembering telling everyone that at first. "Right before the meeting was over, you announced that we were going to have a meeting today."

That was when I remembered, a third groan leaving my mouth. "But, that's two meetings in a row!" I cried, looking up at the ceiling.

"I understand that but the meeting doesn't start until one," Matthew assured me. "We have about an hour to kill!"

I smiled, looking over at my brother. At least we have an hour to kill until we had to leave for the meeting. That meant I could keep on eating my hamburgers in peace, and Matthew could eat the rest of his pancakes.

"So now, the hero will eat his hamburgers!" I exclaimed, taking another bite of my hamburger. Matthew chuckled, rolling his eyes at me.

Matthew had come over earlier in the morning, waking me up sadly. I seriously need to stop staying up so late playing video games but they are so addicting. I wasn't as tired anymore, now, I was wide awake because I had some good old McDonalds and it made me really happy. Like, really happy. Matthew had let me have that and he got some pancakes, since he had skipped breakfast today so he could be at my house by a certain time.

I looked over at Matthew wide a raised brow as he got up, walking over to the kitchen sink. "What 'cha doing Mattie?" I asked him, watching him put his plate in the sink.

"Putting my plate in the sink that way we can leave when you're done," Matthew told me.

"You said we had an hour to kill!" I exclaimed, remembering his exact words. Matthew nodded, not denying his words.

"You're right, but, the meeting is in D.C.," Matthew informed me. "So, we need that hour to get there so we aren't late. You don't want Iggy mad at us, do you?"

I sighed, finishing off my hamburger before answering him. "Well, I don't want steam coming out of his ears," I mumbled, standing up from my chair. "Let's go! The hero is off!"

Matthew and I walked out of my house, closing the door behind us. I put my awesome jacket on before we both got into the car, Matthew in the passenger seat. I started up the car, and then backed out, heading for the meeting.

"You do remember how to get there, don't you?" Matthew asked as I turned a corner.

I laughed, glancing over at Matthew like he was insane. "Of course I remember how to get there! This is my country after all!" I exclaimed. "Don't worry Mattie! We'll be there soon!"

Matthew mumbled something but I couldn't catch it, it was too quiet of a whisper to be heard. He's good at that whispering stuff, let me tell you that.

"What are you going to talk about today?" Matthew asked me as I got into a different lane.

I shrugged, not knowing at the moment. "I don't know! Something! Economies? Money! Yeah, I really don't know," I admitted.

Matthew chuckled. "That's a lovely subject Al," he murmured, looking out his window. I stuck my tongue out at him, still keeping my eyes on the road.

"Hey! I just don't know! It'll be something heroic! Just watch!" I exclaimed. Matthew chuckled once more.

"Alright Al," Matthew said. "I'll watch then!"

I chuckled, getting into a totally different subject with Matthew as I kept on driving to the meeting.

We kept on talking, not knowing what we were to expect when the meeting started.
