Okay sorry about no updates on previously done stories I lost the USB with them all on it and it took me awhile to get back to it and such as other things were occupying my time ,anyway second chpt, this chpt will be through Callum's eyes so enjoy (I may drop this story and Life of a Guardsmen, as result of No Ideas forming for it)

I starched my head as I stared into the mirror, scanning my face I had the start of a beard growing more of a five o'clock shadow then an actual beard, I started shaving, humming a simple tune to myself.

"Such a complex thing" I stated to myself, as I usually did when looking in the mirror, as the person looking back at me was the only reasonable person on the planet sometimes. "Life, isn't it?" for some reason I was feeling very philosophical today, "Most people think it's a simple thing, just black and white nothing else, only good and evil, then again there are those who think it's a large grey scale, hundreds of the same colour only darker or brighter, not me though, I…" I winced as I slip up; leaving a small cut on my right cheek "Damn it" I grab, a towel and wipe the blood away, I look in the mirror to examine the cut, not to bad just a little one, shouldn't show.

I turn the tap and hold my hand under its stream feeling it, as it transitions from cold to hot, I cup my hands and splash water on my face; I hear the phone ringing in the kitchen taking the same towel I used to wipe the blood away I wiped away what little shaving cream was left and sigh, probably the landlady ringing about the rent, I turn the tap off and make my way to the phone

"Hello?"

"Yeah Callum hi its Joyce here, just wondering when you're going to pay this month's rent?" I sigh Joyce was a bitchy old lady in her late sixties she let him stay there as a favour to his mum

"Yeah I know it's going to be a bit late this month but you'll get it"

"I'd better I've no patience for you kids"

"I know Miss Kaleen I'm sorry it's late but you'll get the money" she's quiet for a while before the line goes dead

"Rude bitch" I put the phone down only to have it ring again "listen Miss Kaleen I told you that…"

"Um hello this is James you submitted a resume to my workplace"

"Oh sorry about that I thought you were the landlady"

"Rigght anyway I had a look at your resume and I like it, I'd like to have you work for me" I couldn't believe it I'd submitted hundreds of resumes and nothing.

"Uh…of Couse just tell me where and when and I'll be there"

"The Games workshop on Kingsly Street in about two hours" my jaw hit the floor not only had I landed a job but it was at games workshop, GAMES FUCKING WORKSHOP,

"Um yeah sure I'll be there"

"Great see you then" I raced out the door and down the stairs to my parked car and took off down the road, an ear to ear grin on my face, I scanned the street names, finding Kingsly I turned down it and there it was, games workshop, Bray had told me he'd gone in a couple of times I park my car just across the road, and go to the shop entering I see a guy half-asleep on the counter, I take a moment to examine him, he seems like he's in his mid-twenties he has sort black hair and thin moustache as well as a goatee

"Um…Hello?" he jumps, and yawns

"Oh hi how can I help you?"

"I'm here to see James?" he looks up with a little surprise in his face.

"Oh you must be the new guy" I smile and chuckle

"Yep that be me"

"I'm Matt you'll be working with me most of the time, the boss is through there" he points to a door leading to another room, as I enter I see a guy sitting at a desk, looking through a type of magnifying glass as he paints a space marine, he had neatly trimmed honeycomb hair and a pinkish complexion

"James?"

"Just a second" he takes extreme care with the space marine, it was primarily a midnight blue with a gold trim on it, similar to a death watch colour scheme just with that hint of gold differing it to death watch, he carefully placed it on a the table, he then turned to face me "Okay so welcome to my employ, I assume you've meet Matt already"

"Yeah I did" James smiles

"Well you'll be working with him for the bulk of the day, he's not too bad a little talkative at times but otherwise okay, but I'm not going to talk your ears off, the shops open form nine thirty in the morning to about four in the afternoon working days are Monday to Friday and you'll get thirty dollars an hour seems fair?"

"Yeah okay seems simple enough"

"Good that's what I like to hear; anyway Matt can show the rest"

"Okay" the rest of the day is fairly uneventful Matt shows me around and I get aquatinted with the shop and a few of its customers, time seems to fly because before I knew it, it was four o'clock.

"Well that's me done Callum I'll see you tomorrow" I nod and go to leave when James stops me

"Oh Callum before you leave I've something for you" he hands me a small cardboard box with my days' pay on it "think of this as a welcome gift" I take the lid off to find a few dozen space marines and some forge paints, I try to contain the nerdgasm I'm about to have as I look at the space marines

"Th-thanks boss this is…"

"Don't call me boss my name is James everyone calls me that okay"

"Okay James thanks" I walk past him to my car and drive home, I walk to the landlady's apartment door and knock she opens the door and sighs

"What is it Callum" I hand her the months' rent of $100 and smile.

"Here the rent" she has a dumbfound look on her face as she counts it I turn up the stairs and enter my apartment, I splash out and order myself a pizza form the nearby place and recap my day and smile "things are looking up for us Callum" I say to myself.

Okay second done its rough I know but hey deal with it anyway I'm going to scrap life of a guardsmen as I've drawn a blank with it and can't see any good chapters for it coming any time soon so bye, bye.
