13 years earlier…

Uchiha Mikoto is on her way to the elementary school to pick her son up. She just came back from her job as a hospital nurse. Mikoto knocks on the classroom door, which has been decorated by the kids with paint and stickers. The door opens, revealing a very concerned Senju Tsunade, the schoolteacher for first graders.

"Mrs. Uchiha, thank goodness you're here. There's something we need to talk about."

"Not now, I'm a bit tired right now. It's been a long day at work and I would like to just—"

"It's about your son."

Miss Senju tells Mikoto that the kids were assigned to draw a picture of what they would like to be when they grow up. When the school bell rang, she asked them to turn in their drawings and as everyone places them on her desk; one stood out. The moment Miss Senju pulled it out to have a look, she was left speechless.

"Here, let me show you," said Miss Senju.

The drawing 7 year old Sasuke drew shows an older version of himself holding a knife, covered with blood, standing where two guys lay dead. Mikoto was horrified; how could he have drawn this?! Mikoto wondered.

"Mrs. Uchiha, when I asked your son about the drawing after everyone else left, he said he doesn't remember drawing it."

"Mom, wait!" Sasuke's being dragged by his mother out of the school. He already knows she's mad at him for his drawing, yet he doesn't even remember grabbing his pencil to start. Could he have blacked out? Mikoto grabs the door handle of Ford vehicle, and tells Sasuke in a serious manner, "Get inside the car."

"But, why—" Sasuke tries to ask, but quickly closes his mouth when he sees that she has that look on her face.

"Now," she replied.

He sits down next to Mikoto, puts on his seat belt and closes the car door. *THUMP*

A few days later…

The sun is shining on a quiet, suburban neighborhood. The trees are peaceful, birds singing, squirrels climbing on branches, and the wind is blowing a nice breeze. It seems to be a nice day for a bike ride. *CLICK, CLICK, CLICK.* Sasuke is riding on his bicycle, on the way back to his two story house where his mom is fixing up her Ford. He just came back from his best friend's house. As he gets closer, his dog Itachi starts running, with his tail wagging, towards Sasuke.

"Bark, bark!"

"Itachi!" Sasuke immediately hugs his dog while petting him at the same time.

"Sasuke, can you grab that wrench over there?" Mikoto asks, pointing to a wrench on top of a toolbox.

"sure, mom."

He gets off his bike, sets it against the mailbox, and then grabs the wrench to hand it to his mother.

"Thanks, sweetie."

"Mom, why are you fixing the engine?"

"Because we're going somewhere today," she says as she closes the hood of the car.

"Cool, where?" But Mikoto doesn't answer his question, instead she simply smiled and says, "just get inside the car and I'll tell you once we get there, okay?"

Sasuke replies, "okay," but he stills wants to know where his mom is taking him to. Anything but that place, he shivers from the thought of it. Unfortunately for
Sasuke, that place is exactly where she'll be taking him.
