Sorry that it's been a minute but between school and a bunch of personal issue that I've had going on its been nearly impossible to write anything but don't worry, I'll always find time to update my stories. Anyway, On with the story!
Chapter 2:
There is a fine line between being brave and being stupid, at this fine time, Thomas had no idea which one he was. It had seemed like a good idea at the time, you know saving Dennis and Liv when they were down but being stared down by a raging boy wearing a karate outfit with a name like Bull! Well… not one of the best moments to have on your first day of school.
Thomas P.O.V
"What have I gotten myself into!?" Thomas screamed in his head
With every menacing step that Bull took forward, Thomas unconsciously took a step back. Sure he had just won his first Custom Robo battle ever against Terry but that was just plain luck; but something told him that with someone like Bull, luck just wasn't going to cut it.
"So, you ready for this punk!" Bull pounded his fist together roughly
"Uhh, well" Thomas stuttered
Suddenly the school doors flew open and out ran a very out of shape Mr. Stubbs striking an authoritative pose
"HOLD IT!" he screeched and narrowed his eyes at Bull "Bull, what exactly do you think you're doing?" "Challenging Thomas on his first day of school, hardly seems like a warm welcome."
"Oh, shoot, Stubby's comin" Bull scuffed and returned his gaze back at Thomas
"Looks like you get off easy this time but the next time you aren't going to be so lucky" Bull raised his right glove to Thomas's face "We'll finish this at the school tournament" he sneered but then got a smirk on his face "But" Bull started "if you lose… Team Numero Uno's gotta break up! Got it?!" he grins
The surrounding student start to gasp and whisper among themselves
Dennis raised his clenched fist to his chest "B-Break up…" he muttered to himself
Liv had a pondering look on her face "What happens if YOU lose" she asked in a matter-of-fact voice
Bull placed on hand on his hip and puffed out his chest "Hey, if I lose" he pondered for a moment and then smiled "I'll do whatever you want, cuz there's no chance I'm gonna lose!" Bull chuckled at his own remark
Liv had a stern look on her face and crossed her arms over her chest "It's a deal! The day after tomorrow, it's on!" she shook her fist a Bull
Dennis stared at Liv wide eyed "Liv, are you sure this is a good idea, taking Bull on?" he asked questioningly
Liv shook her head "Of course it is, just trust me Dennis" she nodded her head confidently
"Hey, Thomas!" Bull turned to face the red head "You better show up, cus I owe you a pounding!" Bull beckoned his lackeys to follow him and walked passed Thomas, not before roughly bumping into his shoulder making him move out of the way. Bull and his lackeys disappeared into the school
"Wait a second!" yelled "You stay right where you are Bull! I'm not finished with you!" runs into the school "And how many times do I have to tell you, my name is Mr. Stubbs!
With Bull and his team gone, the surrounding students began to disperse. Dennis ran up to Liv and roughly through his hands on her shoulder, shaking her violently "Liv!" he screeches "What are you doing, making a promise like that? And to that thickheaded thug!?"
Liv smacks Dennis's hands off of her and gains her composure "What are you talking about?" she raises an eyebrow at Dennis who only sighs
"I know there's only two of us left, but I still don't want the team to break up" Dennis's body begins to tremble
"Two?" Liv cocks her head to the side "What are you talking about, silly" she roughly pats him on the back "We've got Thomas on our team now!" she exclaims and Dennis turns to the boy in front of him
Thomas lets out a breath that he didn't even realize that he was holding in and turns to see both Liv and Dennis looking at him.
"We'll, wasn't that something" Thomas chuckled with a crocked smile
Dennis sighed and looked depressed "Don't get me wrong. I'm glad that Thomas's here but..." he hesitated "I mean, we NEED more members on our team. I just need to know that he's committed" Dennis looked up with sad eyes "Will you help us?" he asked
Thomas stopped chuckling and looked back and forth between the smug looking Liv and the depressed Dennis. He just started using a Custom Robo and barely know all of the basics, joining a team seemed like the last thing on his mind but something about helping out the both of them just seemed so… right. Thomas knew what his decision was.
Thomas closed his eyes and shook his head, he smiled at the two teens in front of him "Yes, I will join your team" he beamed
Dennis eyes lit up like a child's on Christmas "Really?!" he exclaimed
Thomas nodded
"Oh cool… I can't tell you how grateful we are" Dennis grabbed Thomas's hands and started to shake them furiously. Dennis realized what he was doing and quickly stopped, his face turned a bright red and he back away slowly
"Ok, listen up Thomas" Liv had a demanding voice "I could tell at first glance that you're pretty new to this…" she nodded her head " But I saw something in you, and I've decided you've got..." Liv waved her hands dramatically in the air "Well, you've got "it"" she shrugged. She walked over to Thomas and placed her hand on his shoulders
"You're rough around the edges, but I think I can clean you up to be a great robo commander." She grinned
Dennis looked taken back "Wow… I've never heard you say that about anyone before" he sounded surprised
"You've got a lot of spirit. You jumped right in and offered to fight without hesitation."
"Well, half of that is true" Thomas thought to himself
Liv continued "You! A total rookie! See, that's what I like to hear!" "The most important thing a commander can have is the will to fight." She clenched her fist righteously. "I can feel it" she muttered and placed her hand on Thomas's chest "right here"
Thomas blushed "Uhh" he stuttered
Liv chuckled and took a step back from Thomas
"Oh, so that's why you were so willing to make that bet with Bull? Dennis exclaimed "You saw the sort of skill in Thomas that Eddy has" he said
"Psh!" Liv scuffed "My brother had his chance! Anyway, we'd better get on with our training."
"Yeah." Dennis agreed "We've got a lot of training to do, and only two days to do it!"
Liv grabbed Thomas's hand and started to drag him somewhere "Come on, let me show you our room" she urged
Thomas had no choice but to follow.
Liv dragged Thomas around the corner from the court yard of the school into a little passage way. After walking of walking, they came to an old style building with a window, double doors and a giant robo cube at the top of it
"Here we are!" Liv exclaimed "Welcome to our clubhouse."
"It's a bit out of the way, buy, hey! That just means more privacy, am I right?" Dennis said
Liv walked up and the doors automatically slid open and the three of them went in.
Numero Uno Clubhouse
Liv, Thomas, and Dennis all entered the room
Liv turned to Thomas "Welcome to Numero Uno's clubhouse! What do you think?"
Thomas looked all around the room, he noticed that there was a small sofa in the corner, a sink and coffee maker on the other side of the room, the little work table in the corner, and the pile of boxes stacked in the back along with another small window but the thing that stuck out the most was the holosseum in the middle of the room.
"It's not bad" Thomas said "But it's not that good either" he thought
"Bull's team has a much better clubhouse than we do" Dennis said "I guess your team has to win a few matches before you get any of the good spaces, huh?" he said leaning against the wall
"We do have our own holosseum deck… Honestly, what more do we need" Liv said tapping on the holosseum.
Liv walked over to the table and took a seat "Okay, Here's the deal Thomas" Liv sighed before continuing "The guy you fought belongs to one of the other robo teams. They call themselves the Grapple Gang" she explained
"Grapple Gang" Thomas narrowed his eyes thinking back to his encounter with Bull
"We've got sort of rivalry going on, because we both want to represent the school" "And honestly, we're the only ones good enough to do it" Liv said it like it was a proven fact
"And Liv and Bull are so stubborn that neither one is willing to back off" Dennis said chuckling
"I'm not the stubborn one!" Liv said scrunching her face. Liv clapped her hand together and stood up "OK, it's time to start training! She declared
Dennis sighed "Whatever you say, Liv" he walked to the opposite side of the holosseum
Thomas walked into the front of the holosseum but was stopped by Liv
"Uhh, one more thing" she said shyly "I…" she paused before continuing "I can't actually command a robo myself" she said sadly
Thomas stared wide eyed at Liv, he was shocked by what he just heard
"What do you mean, you can't control a robo" Thomas asked
Liv sighed and started to explain "See, when you "dive" into a custom robo, you mind is transferred into the robo, and I just don't have the ability to dive like other commanders" she sighed again "I don't like it, but I'm stuck with it." She shrugged her shoulder "So I have to make do"
Thomas was really surprised at Liv, she was impressing him more and more each minute, you could almost say that he was…
Dennis cut in "But Liv's great at support, Thomas, so even if she can't fight, she's still valuable" he said praisingly "She's got the know-how to make you into a top-notch commander!"
"…How come nobody else can see that?" Liv muttered to herself "They all just up and quit"
"Liv can be a little…" Dennis choose his words carefully "strict, Harsh even" "Or…downright mean, for that matter."
"But you can take it, right, Thomas?" Liv asked "You look tough" she patted Thomas on the back roughly
"Sure I can" Thomas thought to himself while rubbing his back
"Liv, it's not right to scare him." Inquired Dennis "He'll be plenty scared once he gets to know you better" Dennis said smiling and Liv playfully stuck her tongue out at him
"Ok, let's do this." said Liv "Stand in front of the deck when you're ready!"
Dennis walked to the other side of the holosseum and placed his robo cube in the slot. Thomas walked up and did the same with his robo cube. A hologram of both his robo and Dennis's appeared in the arena:
Commander: Dennis
Model: Trick Flyer
Robo: Mantis
Weapon: Basic
Pod: Standard
Bomb: Standard
Legs: Standard
Dennis shifted his glasses up and the light reflected off of them making his eyes disappear
"Don't worry, Thomas" Dennis said surprisingly confidently "I'll go easy on you"
Thomas grinned "Well, someone's suddenly full of themselves"
Enter Battle!
An arena with metal wall and boxes zoomed into view. The robo canons set in the middle of the arena. Both Thomas and Dennis aimed there canons in the opposite direction and a second later there cubes went flying out.
Thomas robo cube bounces off of the wall into the far corner and landed on a yellow square with an insignia of an arm. The robo shifted from the cube and Ray MkII came into view but instead of half its body being stuck into the ground, only its arm was stuck.
Thomas sighed "This thing hates me"
"Need some help" said a voice
Thomas looked up and the Ray MkII mimed him and they both say a praying mantis looking robo with large bug-like red eyes staring down at them.
"Here, let me help you" Dennis said from the other side
The Mantis robo extended its hand to Ray MkII and with a strong tug, helped it free itself from the arena
"Thanks, Dennis" Thomas said
"No problem" Dennis grinned "It take a minute to get a good shot in, you'll get it"
"Uhm!" Liv cleared her voice "You're supposed to be fighting!" she shrieked authoritively
Both Thomas and Dennis shuttered at her hard voice and commenced with the match.
The Ray MkII quickly jumped back and shot a few rounds at the Mantis, the Mantis dodged the shots by jumping to the side and hiding behind one of the walls. Ray MkII ran toward the wall but was surprised when Mantis suddenly flew up from behind the wall and took off in the air. The Mantis commenced with flying to the other side of the arena and released a bomb.
Ray MkII slid across the arena to escape the oncoming missile, the missile hit the wall and exploded, Ray MkII moved just in time to keep from getting a direct hit but was close enough to receive minimal damage.
Ray MkII – 53% Damage – 947 Energy left
Ray MkII rolled forward and quickly fired 3 shots into the Mantis
Mantis – 93% Damage – 907 Energy left
Mantis took off in the air again and landed on the opposite site of Ray MkII, Mantis fired three shots at Ray MkII but they missed when Ray MkII jumped on top of the nearest box and fired a bomb and a couple of shots. The bomb exploded right in front of the both robo's but the three shots made direct contact with Mantis causing more damage and sending it smashing into the wall. The explosion also caused Ray MkII minimal damage making it stagger.
Ray MkII – 95% Damage – 852 Energy left
Mantis – 172% Damage – 735 Energy left
"Nice moves Thomas" Dennis praised
"Back atcha" Thomas grinned
"Well, what about this!"
Mantis jumped in the air and dashed above Ray MkII and quickly charged downward. Ray MkII jumped up and dashed backward.
"Whoa, that's one fast charge" thought Thomas "Gonna have to watch that"
Mantis quickly took flight again and started firing shots, Ray MkII skillfully doged the shots but was back into a corner. Mantis jumped and charged again, Ray MkII rolled forward causing Mantis to charge right into the stadium wall.
Dennis shook a little from the impact "Ow!"
Mantis slid off the wall and landed on the ground with a hard metallic thud
Thomas blinked "Uhh, do you" he was cut off by Liv
"Do not help your enemy!" she yelled "Continue to fight!"
Thomas shook at her harsh voice "She really is scary" he thought
Ray MkII hesitantly moved before slide charging at Mantis. Mantis was thrown into the air where a Ray MkII sent a bomb and shots after it colliding in a fiery explosion in the air.
Mantis – 279% Damage – 456 Energy left
Mantis fell to the ground and quickly recovered, both robo's circled around eachother, Ray MkII released two pod bombs that raced toward Mantis, Mantis released a bomb that connected with one of the pods causing it to explode, the other pod curved and landed in front both of Ray MkII and Mantis in a fiery explosion. Mantis leaped in the air and charged at Ray MkII, Ray Mk II braced for the attack but it never came as Mantis moved to quickly and collided in the aftermath of the explosion
Mantis – 54% Damage - 402 Energy left
Ray MkII leapt forward and landed a sliding charge kick on the distorted Mantis
Mantis – 161% Damage – 241 Energy left
Mantis landed on the ground with a hard thud and jumped up and pointed its gun at Ray Mk II but when it turned the other robo was not in sight
"Right here!" Thomas shrieked
Mantis turned around to see Ray MkII running full speed at it, Mantis had no time to move before Ray MkII shot rounds into it before sending two pods and a bomb at it. All of the attacks collided into a fiery eruption. A charred Mantis fell to the ground
Mantis – 241% Damage – 0 Energy left
Battler over – The winner is Thomas and Ray MkII!
Ray MkII jumped onto of the boxes in the center of the stage and proceeded to do its victory dance before putting its weapon in the sky victoriously.
End Battle!
Both Thomas and Dennis stepped away from the Holosseum
"Looking good there, Thomas" Dennis congratulated
"Thanks, you weren't bad yourself" Thomas said and they both smiled at each other and shook hands
"Good work, Thomas" Liv congratulated "I've got a little something for you" Liv reached into her pocket and pulled out a red lined little chip "Hand me your, garage" she demanded
Thomas reached into his pocket and handed Liv his garage station. She opened a little slot and put the card into it, the garage made a couple of beeping noises and after a minute ejected the card
"Here!" she tossed the garage back at Thomas who fumbled to catch it "I download some new parts, you earned it!"
"Really?!" Thomas said both surprised and happy
Thomas opened his garage and screen popped up that read:
New parts are available!
Flame Gun
Tomahawk Bomb B
Twin Flank Pod F
High Jump Legs
"Nice" Thomas thought
"So, what should we do next" Dennis questioned "Fighting me over and over again won't improve Thomas" Dennis said taking a seat at the table
"Yeah…" Liv placed her finer under her chin and pondered for a moment "Hm, he's gonna have to fight other commanders sooner or later…" Liv paced back and forth before getting a weird grin on her face
"You both wait here" Live said heading for the door "I'm gonna go scrounge up some worthy opponents." She ran out the door
"Hey, wait! Liv!" Dennis hoped up but Liv was already out the door and he sighed and slumped back in his seat
"Sheesh. Once she sets her mind to something, there's no stopping her" Dennis shook his head
"I see" Thomas walked over to the sofa and took a seat
"Do you know what guys see in girls like that?" Dennis asked jokingly
Thomas paused "Yeah, I kinda do" he blushed
Dennis gaped and blinked a couple of times "Let me guess…" Dennis continued "You like how hard she works to get what she wants, huh?" he questioned "You're helping her because you want to see all her hard work pay off or something, huh?" he continued
Thomas scratched his cheek nervously "Yeah, you can say that"
Dennis looked toward the ceiling "Liv's an awesome support, though." he said "You can't go wrong with her at your side. "She even helped the Robo Cup champ win the last big tournament!" he gushed
Thomas eyes widened "She did!" he asked surprised
Dennis nodded "Yeah, I watched the whole thing….on the TV, I mean…" Dennis stumbled over his words "Anyway! Their teamwork was incredible."
"I guess there's more than one side to Liv" Thomas grinned to himself
There was another moment of silence
"Soo…" Thomas trailed off "What type of girl do you like" he asked Dennis
"Wha-What!" Dennis was caught off guard and moved to fast making the chair wobble backwards and falling on the ground
"Owww" Dennis whined on the floor
Thomas chuckled to himself "Being on this team is going to be fun" he smiled to himself.
At least someone's having some fun :)
Personally I thought that I used the (Ray MKII) name to much but was to lazy to go back and redo it but whatever

PS. I plan on updating my cover with each different events in the story. I know that it may be a little extra but, why not.
