Tony took another step towards the terrified boy . Peter was shaking violently , so violently in fact it was hurting him and tony heard him whimper in pain . Tony stayed still unsure of how to aproch the young spiderling. He heard a gasp from behind him and whipped around to see Wanda with her hand over her mouth and eyes almost popping out of her skull in shock . Natasha stood beside Wanda with a similar yet slightly more composed expression. This wasn't her first time witnessing a scene like this .

" Stark ... this is the spider boy." Wanda asked voice shaking slightly.

" yes, this is the boy" he replied.

" oh peter " Natasha sighed

Pietro appeared in a flash of blue light next to Wanda , his mouth gaping open at the boy. He put his arm round his sisters shoulders in a comforting way and half hugged her and whispered something into her ear before turning to tony after she had nodded and put on a brave expression

" should I get Mr Banner and the others " he questioned , his thick Russian accent shining through the words.

Tony just nodded and with that he was off

Tony looked back at the boy who was still shaking and had started crying by this point both with pain and not knowing what was going on.

No one moved for a minute and the three adults just listened to peters quite sobs and sniffles as he cried.

Suddenly Wanda made a move and slowly started walking to peter who looked up at her from where he was sitting with an expression of complete fear , his eyes puffy and red from crying.

Tony began to speak " Wanda what are you doing, stop... " but he was cut off by Natasha " Tony let her , if anyone should aproach him it should be her or her brother"

" what , why " tony asked eyes not leaving the boy " because remember a similar thing has happened to them and they will understand what's going on and how he feels ." Natasha answered with a weak smile.

Wanda turned around to Tony and just stated plainly " she'z right " before she reached peter and kneeled down infront of the crying spiderling.

" hey, hey , it's okay you don't need to fret , we're here to help you , okay ." Said Wanda in a voice so soft tony wasn't sure if the woman crouched infront of peter was still Wanda.

She slowly reached her hand out to wipe away the tears that were falling from peters eyes. She did it ever so gently careful not to cause him anymore pain. He wimpered again at her touch and she muttered an apology.Tony glanced over at Natasha with a face of shock , but Natasha just smiled and nodded.

She put her hand on the side of his head rubbing soft circles on his good cheek with her thumb.

" your names peter , right?" She asked soothingly, he nodded a tiny nod .

" well peter we've not met before but do you know who I am ? " she asked gently, still rubbing circles on his cheek . He shook his head a little. " that's okay but I bet you'll know who scarlet witch is ?" This time he nodded and his eyes shined a little . " well that's me , my names Wanda "

His eyes started getting heavy at the sound of her voice and her warm , gentle touch.

She smiled kindly at him as she shifted herself to sitting cross legged still infront of him . Her hand still on his cheek. Without realising it head began to lean into her hand. She moved it away and he wimpered softly. She then held out her arms to him .

Tony was gobsmaked at how well she was handling him so well and was making so much progress in a matter of minutes.

" your freezing peter , come here , I'm nice and warm ." She waited a few minutes untill slowly he began to move towards her , but she noticed as he winced in pain " take your time kid "he took a little while but he finally made it to Wanda and she sat back on her knees to make herself a little taller and she patted her knee gesturing for him to sit on her knee , he pulled himself up on to her and slowly wrapped his arms around her middle.

Tony's mouth dropped open and Natasha just smirked at the older man .

Wanda put her arms around the smaller figure and hugged him back . Her hands rubbing slow calming circles on his back like she did to his cheek .

He started to cry against her shoulder . Tears gathering on her red jacket, but she didn't seam to care . Normally she wouldn't allow anyone other than pietro to so much as touch her but she was even more sensitive about her jacket, claiming it had been her mother's. But she didn't bat an eyelid.

" shhhh " She hushed peter as he sobbed loudly. " it's okay , shhh" he continued crying but she tryed a different aproach , she began to sing .

Summer in the hills

Those hazy days I do remember

We were running still

Had the whole world at our feet

Watching seasons change

Our roads were lined with adventure

Mountains in the way

Couldn't keep us from the sea

Here we stand open arms

This is home where we are

Ever strong in the world that we made

By the time she ended the song peter had stopped crying, stopped shaking, and had fallen asleep in her arms.

" okay Wanda, I know they call you scarlet witch but damm that was some spooky magic " said Tony in a hushed voice

" yeah that was amazing Wanda " said a voice from the doorway and the three people in the room turned to the door to see the rest of the avengers standing there , the person who had spoke was a man with a bow " thanks katniss " whispered Wanda to Hawkeye .

"How long have you lot been standing there?" Interrogated tony in a quiet voice as to not wake the boy

" long enough to know Wanda is both great at taking care of kids and singing " Steve chimed in , whisper shouting.

" thanks Steve " she blushed slightly but then regained herself "Banner can you give him a quick examination " I don't mind carrying him but I want to know that it's safe to"

Banner stepped towards the hugging duo and Wanda used her powers to lift herself and peter up off the ground and turn round then gently land again to face everyone.

Banner reached them and took a few minutes to look Peter over as best he could giving that his front was mostly facing away from him

Pietro for the first time slowly walked towards Wanda and kneeled down next to her. Putting a hand on her shoulder he leaned down to whisper to her " I told you you would be the best person to do this "

She smiled at her brother " I'm glad I listened to you " he walked away And stool with Clint, who gave him a funny questioning look " what " he asked " you didn't see that coming?"

Banner finished his attempted scan and straightened back up and looked at Tony.

" I can't really do a full scan but it doesn't look to bad although it could be worse on the front , maybe you can get FRIDAY to preform a full body scan?"

"Okay , FRIDAY preform a scan." Muttered tony who had stepped back into the suit

"Scanning... scanning..." said the suit

" hurry up FRIDAY we just need to know it's safe for him to be moved?!"an impatient tony growled .

"It is safe for him to be moved proving Wanda uses her powers to carry both her and the boy in that position as to much movement could cause the damage that's already been done to escalate or cuts to reopen and bleed"

"Thank you FRIDAY." Sighs tony

" one last thing boss, it seems as though peter Parker has been injected with some strange fluids , substances unknown so far but be weary sir, I believe it may be the cause of his lack of healing "

I Wanda's grip on the boy visibly tightened at the mention of injections

"Right well we better get moving " said Wanda , swallowing a lump in her throat.

" yes , everyone make your way back to the ship now , make sure Wanda and Peter are safe" Cap announced to the troop

And with that Wanda and Peter were incased in a red glowing light that lifted then up.

" Wanda you okay " asked Clint

" yeah compared to cars this is nothing, but he's so thin and small ." She responded

" that's not good " said Bruce , glancing over at Tony.

"Let's go we can discuss this in the ship" said a michanical Tony and they walked out with the still hugging duo floating behind …
