Chapter 1
Sunkit yawned, feeling the warmth of her mother's belly and her sister and brother, Lightkit and Firekit. She looked out at the entrance of the nursery, purring loudly to see the warming sunshine of the sun. What a perfect day to play with Lightkit and Firekit! she took a mouthful of milk,digging in deep her mother's belly to get what was left of the best of she gave herself a through washing before shaking Lightkit and Firekit awake. Lightkit's big green eyes blinked opened slowly,and she grunted as her sister nudged her awake. "What,"Lightkit mewed groggily at Sunkit,annoyed to be woken up from a pleasant dream she was having,only to bewoken up at the perfect moment of the dream."I was just about to be made leader of my very own clan,Lightclan!Hmph!" Lightkit huffed, ignoring her. "Now is the perfect time to play Hunter or Mossball!Come on Lightkit,help me wake up lazy Firekit. The sleepyhead's snored through the whole night,I couldn't even sleep!" she mewed,finally convincing Lightkit to help her wake up Firekit."Oh well..it's already sunhigh anyways..."Lightkit's words were covered up with a sleepy yawn, and the two she-kits started nudging their snoring brother,who rolled over on his back,mumbling, "I,Firekit of Sunclan will save the day!" Sunkit purred in amusement as Lightkit stifled her laughter,when Firekit's eyes flew open,startled at the two piercing eyes of his sisters staring down at him. "You're the mouse,sleepyhead!"
"Every cat old enough to catch their own prey come to the Highstone for a clan meeting!" the loud,strong,and wise voice of Glowstar,the current leader of Sunclan said,as cats of all shapes and colours gathered below the magnificent cliff of the clan gathering place, Highstone where every clan member of Sunclan would gather for clan meetings by the leader. The queens and kits settled down on the mouth of the nursery,except for a white queen and her two kits who were very well groomed,stood with the clan,ready to be apperenticed. "Today, Sunclan will welcome two future warriors in the clan!" Glowstar's voice boomed over the Highstone. "Rosekit," he said, as a small gray and white tabby she-cat padded towards Glowstar, excitement in her eyes, as Rosekit struggled to calm down. "Rosekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Rosepaw. Your mentor will be Redleaf. Redleaf, I hope you will pass down your loyalty and excellent hunting skills to her." Redleaf padded foward, touching noses with Rosepaw, who was bouncing up and down, perfectly elated with her new role as an apprentice.
Thornkit, now Thornpaw, walked with his sister Rosepaw and her mentor, together with his new mentor, Stonfeather to the apprentices' den, the place wher he and his sister would spend the night in, along with the three other older apprentices, Flypaw, Vinepaw, and Coldpaw. as Thornpaw padded in cautiously into the apprentices' den. Two empty and new nests were sitting in the front of the den, and Coldpaw merely glanced at him, his words icing the den. "That's your puny little nest, fox dung." he hissed, and resumed grooming himself. Ooh... How cold! Thornpaw suddenly missed the warmth and comfort of the nursery. "Goodnight, Thornpaw. Let's take a good night's rest to get ready for tomorrow's training!"
"Yeah. Goodnight."
Thornpaw felt uneasy. I wish that tomorrow's training will be a success...
