There was a new crossing guard in town but nobody was excited about it. Why? Because he was always frowning in a serious manner and every time Sonic the hedgehog and his friends would cross the street, they'd hear him yell "Hey! Get out of here or else!" One time, Sonic would walk down the streets in the marketplace where the new crossing guard was and saw him make some kind of motion that made Sonic think the guard was going to do something really, really bad. He decided to turn around and head the other direction.
At the Sweet Shop, Sonic and his friends were sitting around chatting about the crossing guard. "Well, that's it!" Said Super Sparkle. "I'm tired of being called a brat. Why did our old guard have to move away?"
"She had to move to another kingdom, that's all," said Sonic. "We'll just have to take a detour, I guess."
"Yeah, a detour!" Chimed in Tails. Then, he asked, "what detour?"
"A detour is when it take a different route than usual," explained Sonic. "Like if a tree fell across a road after a storm. You would take a different route and just hope it works just as good as your usual route."
"So that's it," said Super Sparkle. "We just have to take a different route that'll be just as good as crossing the street."
"Exactly," said Sonic. Super Sparkle, Tails and Zelda agreed and they all set off for try out a new route.
