A/N: For the comment about the roll, I was referring to 20 dice that is mainly used for tabletop roleplays like Dungeons & Dragons (you can look up). But yes, most rolls are 12 faces though. I can see why people can be off from reading the story because of the summary, I should've worded it better. I've changed it into something better (I hope).

Goodsprings was a quiet small settlement that Vincent feel oddly more comfortable than his little place around a NCR base, probably because there was no Chuck to harass him in any way or his father just yelling at him for no reason. Still, he wants to see his friends again and tell about his epic journey (that will most likely be made up about how badass he is) and tell Nines about his pip-boy.

As he got up from the ground, he started to think to himself, "Why will they steal a chip from me? They shot me just for a stupid chip..." He turned on his pip-boy and went into his notes about the package, "Holy shit, it wasn't just some random chip! It was a platinum clip, it must cost thousands or even millions of caps for that! Why didn't I read this through?" He put his pip-boy away and shrugged, "No matter, the Great Logan will still take his great revenge of thy and make thy suffer! But for now, I must seek the beauty called Sunny Smiles to get some EXP."

He walked to the Prospector Saloon, he'll admit that he never actually went to places with alcoholic beverages or even tastes one before, but his good o' friend Nines recommended not to get into it since it's pretty easy to get addicted it and seeing his own father drinking makes him want alcohol less. Plus every time he tries to sneak into one, they usually kick him out since they think he's stolen his father's caps to pay alcohol or anything mature related (well, it's true).

On the front porch of the location, he came across an old black man with gray bread, relaxing on his seat. The man greeted himself to Vincent, "Howdy, aren't you the kid that got shot?" He nodded, "Well, glad to see you up and well then. What can Easy Pete do for ya?"

"Oh nothing, I'm on a great quest to find the man who shot me and meet up with a girl named Sunny."

"A great quest, huh?" He chuckled to himself, "You must have an imagination, but your man with the fancy suits seems to be calling the shots. Dunno where he went if you catch him, you need watch out for yourself."

Vincent shakes his head, "I'm pretty sure he needs to watch himself, you see these hands?" He showed Pete the palm of his hands, "These hands are warrior's hands and they're deadly too."

Easy Pete laughed, "Okay kid, Sunny is inside the saloon by the pool table with her dog. You can't her.

He smiled, "Thank you, I'll see you soon!"

Inside the saloon, the place divided with the left having a jukebox, a pool table, and tables to sit around with and the right a simple bar for people drink. As soon as he entered the place, he saw a large dog barking at him as a brunette lady calms her dog down. Vincent gave the dog a nervous smile to make sure the dog becomes friendlier to him.

"Calm down, Cheyanne, stay here." She rubs the dog's head to reassure the dog, the dog stops barking at Vincent and looks at him curiously, "Don't worry, she won't bite unless I tell her to." Vincent stared at the girl named Sunny and blinks for a second with his mouth opened, having no idea how to respond to a girl like her. "Um...are you ok?"

He snapped out of his little daydream and responded, "Uh, yes I am! I just, um...I was thinking..."

She laughed, "It's ok, Mitchell told me you were an odd one. Not use to being out of your home place, huh?"

He scratched his head and laughed nervously, "Yeah, it's just that, um, my dad doesn't like me going out all that much unless it's work like Primm."

"I guess your dad is the overprotective type, anyways is there anything you need?"

"Well Mitchell told me you can help me survive in the desert, plus I need EXP for my character to get stronger for my great revenge quest."

"Yeah sure, you're going to need all the help you need since you're, well let's just say that you're not the type that will survive out there for very long."

"That's what Nines told me when we first met, besides how bad can it be? Guns are super loud, but they're not hard to use. Granted, the only thing I saw was wanting to kill people was a young gecko and I had my brother killed that for me when we were like six." He thought.

"Meet me back at the saloon, I can teach you a thing or two back there." He nodded and followed her tail to the back of the saloon with her dog following her. Totally not looking at her butt and licking his lips as they were walking there.

As he entered outside, she was already waiting for him with two pairs of rifles and noticed that there were lined up bottles on top of the fences. He walked up to her slowly as he took a deep breath, knowing what he has to do. "It's just guns, Vincent, they don't hurt you unless it points at you. Scratch that, they hurt badly and I hate them."

Sunny drinks a bottle of Sunset Sarsaparilla and spoke to him, handling a Varmint Rifle and a box of 5.56mm Rounds to him, "Here, see those bottles over there? I'm going to need you to shot them, practice with your aim. You probably won't hit at first, but you'll get better...hopefully."

Vincent grabbed the gun and the ammo, "Don't worry, my perception is like nine so I can basically see pretty far away. I should be good at guns."

"Psh, alright then, let's see whatcha you got."

Vincent holds the rifles and made a smile for a second, "Wow...it's a lot heavier than I thought, it's not too heavy though..." He held on the gun and aim at the bottles, looking at them with one of his eyes. He put his finger at the trigger, trying to find an angle to shot and pull it to only miss the bottle about an inch, "Darn it."

"It's ok, you were actually pretty close there. Go a little bit to the right and you'll get there."

He nodded at her advice and tried it again. He took a deep breath, remembering watching Nines doing his little shooting range.

"What you are doing here, Vince, aren't you supposed be helping your brother getting his armor for NCR?" Nines the half Chinese buffed ghoul with few of his hair missing from his transformation was sitting down at a tree bark as he grabs his personal favorite Chinese rifle and BB gun from his beanbag. Out of all the ghouls Vincent has seen in his life, which is not very many, Nines was the cleanest and most good-looking out of all them.

Vincent shrugged as he walks close to the ghoul who was chewing gum, "I don't want help that asshole besides daddy just going to help him either way so it doesn't even matter."

"So why are you here with me and not with your geeky friends?"

"Honestly, I just don't want to roleplay today, actually I wanted to see you shot things with your gun. I think that's cooler than that, at least I believe it is."

Nines nodded and threw him this BB gun at Vincent for an attempt to catch, of course, Vincent jumped and the gun fell. The ghoul smirked, "Can't even get a gun?"

"I never felt a gun before...well, except my dad's gun but he will kill me if he knew I touched his pistol."

"You know, you wouldn't believe me when I say this but I use to never handle a real gun either until I was nineteen." He picked up the BB gun and handle to Vincent, "You can touch it, but you can't use it. It's very special to me."

"Why?"

Nines frowned, "My father made me that when I was ten years old, he was a good dad actually he was a good person who wanted to change the world for the better..."

Vincent nodded, understanding what he meant, "I'm sorry about your dad, I shouldn't ask."

"Nah, it's fine, it was like...four years ago. I have to move on for my father, I can't give up even when I was close to death. Anyways, sit back and watch the master how it's done."

Vincent heard a bang, but not from Nines shooting things in his memory, but him, himself hit a bottle with a bullet. He smiled widely, raising his arms up as he holding the gun, "I did it!"

"Yeah, you did, but you still need to practice a little bit more. Shoot at least three more before we can move on to more moving targets."

"Yeah! Wait, a moving target?"

...

Vincent finally catch of Sunny who was hiding behind a giant rock and catches his breath, "Gosh, you move so fast! You must have an agility of-."

"Sh! There are some geckos at the water supply, nasty little things, Doc Mitchell seems to heal up gecko bites more than anything else. I need you to crouch around, stay quiet, and follow me, do your sneak skill or whatever." Vincent crouched down and followed Sunny as she looked around for geckos, "Alrighty, there's only two geckos out of there. I think it would be best for you to go and shot them, remember to aim correctly, don't panic and shoot."

Vincent nodded, "I can do that." He walked outside side of the hill and saw two geckos roaming around the water pump, he aims his gun at one of them and shot one in the torso area. One gecko screech in pain and noticed Vincent with his gun and bring the other gecko to him, running towards him.

"Now Vincent, stay calm and-."

His eyes widen and begin to shake in fear, "OH MY GOD!" He begins to shoot aimless as soon as they got closer to and luckily those shots landed on the geckos, ending up killing them. He sighed of relief that he killed them in time before they can attack him. His nerves calm down and he stared at the two geckos' corpse at the ground, blood coming from the bullets wounds and landed on the ground. He looked at Sunny with a shaken expression on his face, "I think I'm going to be sick..."

"It's fine, you're getting a hand in this, you did great for a first timer. There's still some geckos to clear out from the wells, if you want, you can come along and earn some caps."

He thinks to himself, "I don't know if I can handle killing more geckos, but then again...I can impress a girl, get caps and get some EXP for my character... The benefits are way too high, I have to try it out at least." He nodded, "Yeah, I'll help, I am may not be skilled with range weapons surprisingly, but I'll get there quickly."

"Awesome, here some ammo for you, let's go out there and shot up some geckos. I shoot those over at that well and you can shoot the ones in the source, it can't hurt."

Sunny ran off before Vincent can speak another word and he hurriedly walked to the source where there's a campfire and saw five geckos surrounding a lady trying to defend herself with a cleaver.

"Ah! Someone help me!"

"Looks like this is the job for The Great Logan aka Logan the Shadow Warrior of the Beast to rescue!" Vincent thought, "Don't worry, m'lady, I will save you!" He jumped off the hill to shoot the geckos in the air, like a badass, having the classic Indiana Jones playing as the lady look at him happily in his mind. He points his rifle at one of the mutated lizards and put his finger his finger. Before he can pull the trigger, he fell on the ground on his face at the middle of the geckos and heard his left leg crack, "D'OH!"

As he tries to reach to his varmint rifle and being bitten by the geckos, Sunny looked over what was happening and start shooting down the geckos one by one until they were all gone. She walked over to Vincent, "Are you okay?"

"I could be better, but I think one of my legs is broken plus those geckos didn't have any mercy on biting me."

She sighed, "What the hell were you thinking when you jump off the hill like that? You've just walked down the hill and rescue her if you could."

"I guess I didn't expect the hill to be that high..."

She placed her hand against her face, shaking in her head but then she laughed and grab his arm, "God, you're a one of a kind, man."

"Is that a good thing? If it is, then why does everything hurts so badly?" He grunts as he trying to left himself up from the ground, a tear running down his eye, "Sunny, I'm having a hard time getting up, please help me."

She put his arm around her shoulder as Vincent left his body up, having his left leg lift up. "Don't worry, crybaby, we're going to see Mitchell again. It's not too far from here, but you're going to need to get used to it. That's just how things work out here. Hey Vincent, thanks for helping me or at least an attempt to help me. I'll give you fifty caps when we get to Mitch."

"At least my effort has been rewarded, do I get EXP for this?"

"Um, sure, I guess..."

"Did I at least woo you as well?"

"Let's not push your luck, buddy."

...

"Your leg isn't even broken, it's just a scratch, it'll go away soon enough. I'll just put a stimpak on it and it'll be just fine, nothing to worry about." Doc Mitchell opened one of the first aids and grabbed a stimpak.

"If my leg isn't broken, then what was that cracking noise around my leg?"

"Probably landed on a gecko before you hit the ground, there was one that acted a little retarded before I shoot them." Sunny was sitting on a chair, cleaning her gun.

"Do you know what happened to that-ouch!" He watched the Doc putting the stimpak on his knee, "If stimpacks is so good for you, then why does it hurt at first?"

"Well, it is a syringe that full with healing medicine after all..." The Doc removed the empty stimpak from his knee, "Besides, it's not as bad as a super stimpak. Use too many of those and they'll kill you."

"What genius thought of that? Why will someone use a super stimpak when you can just use like a hundred regular stimpacks for the same result? Less risk of dying."

"For the first time, that's the most logical thing you said all day." Sunny commented as the Doc laughed.

Vincent rolled his eyes, "I am very logical, I have an intelligence of at least five and research is really high..." He stretches his leg, "At least I don't feel pain anymore, I guess that's why everyone loves them."

"Well now, I'm glad you're better but please come here when you actually broke your leg, bleeding heavily, or near dead and not because you scratch your knee."

"It was a very painful experience though!" He crossed his arms as he got off the bed and took a deep breath.

Sunny got up from her seat, "Come on, let's talk outside."

Vincent followed her outside of the house and questioned her, "What happened to that girl?"

"Oh, she's fine actually since you distracted those monsters to attack you instead of her because of your little act and she ran off for her life. I told people not to go out there alone, but my word isn't good enough apparently. At least she knows to not go out there alone anymore now, some people don't know how dangerous geckos can be."

He nodded in relief, he actually feels good that he really saved someone real instead of a random NPC, "That's...a relief actually, I feel like I achieved something."

"Yeah, maybe not in the way you attended to be but it was good enough." She handles a small bag to him, "Here, this is the caps I owe you, make it useful."

He grabbed the bag and smiled at her, "Thanks Sunny, thank you so much! I never really have my own caps, I usually have to give them to my father."

"Well, you're really yours now. Now, if you want I can teach you how to survive off the land and make some things useful. Interested?"

"Yeah, sure! I will actually like that since my ghoul friend can survive out there without having food or water with him and I'm usually shaky about that."

"Okay then, we'll be making one of the easiest things that anyone can do even someone like you. I'll need a Broc Flower and Xander root, you can Xander root at the schoolyard although there is some mantis over there and some Broc flowers at the graveyard with some bloatflies roaming around. It may be hard to see that graveyard, but I believe you can handle it. I'm putting my trust on you to come back here in one piece without whining so if you need me, I'll be at the campfire."

"You can count on me, m'lady!"

"Don't call me that."

"Ok..."

...

Vincent just barely survived the school area with those nasty giant nymph mantis roaming around, it was hard to hit them correctly and he only had to use one stimpak to finish the job. He collected the Xander root and stuff he received inside the building, he walked out of the place and closed the door behind, giving a big sigh.

"I have no idea how Nines can do this at all..." He spoke to himself.

"Well, howdy pardner!" Vincent jumped and saw a securiton with a cowboy picture on the screen by him, "I didn't mean to scare ya so easily, but might I say, you look fit as a fiddle."

Vincent looked at the robot surprisingly, "You're the robot that saved me?"

"Yup, I'm Victor in case you didn't know."

"Ah, well...thank you for digging me and saving me."

"Don't mention it, I always like to help a stranger in need."

"How did you saved me from there? I'm curious."

"I was out for a stroll and I heard a gunshot up and saw some bad eggs at the old bone orchard so I lay low. Once they were gone, I dig up to see if you were breathing, turn out you were and I send you to the Doc."

Vincent nodded, "Huh, well, thank you again and I owe you for that one really. I'll be going now, I need to get something."

"Okay, be seeing you now, what do you call yourself?"

"Vincent, my name is Vincent Patoski."

"Alrighty then, be seeing you now, Vincent." The robot drove off as Vincent nodded.

"Nice to know that a robot saved my life." He thought as he walks away to the graveyard.

Before heading to the entrance of the graveyard, he saw a yellow-orange scorpion, not those blue-green radscorpions he'll be seeing back at home or those giant scorpions back in California. He reached from his back to get his gun and aim precisely at it, took a breath and shot it four times before it notices Vincent.

He nodded to himself, "I'm getting the hand of this, next you know I can put the marksman as my title." He continued walking up to the hill for the graveyard carefully until he saw some bloatflies, "I hate bloatflies, they're the worse." He pointed at them as quietly as he can and shot them dead, before they can shot their stuff at him, "I'm doing pretty good with this gun, I knew raising my perception from the last game will do some good."

He walked inside the graveyard and saw much of gravestones of many people, he spotted one grave that was dug up and he was sure that was his. He walked up to his own grave, would've been his grave if it wasn't for Victor and Mitchell. Looking at it felt surreal and yet felt anger and sadness in his heart. He was angry about what they have done, he knows that they believe he is dead, someone like him won't rise up. But the sadness in his heart is...unexplained, it seems like there are some things he can't remember from his past but he felt sad that this is yet another chapter in his upset life.

Bang, he can still hear that bang from that guy like it was happening right now. That guy with the checkered suit, that guy did that to him. He noticed some cigarettes near his grave and he remembered that the guy was smoking, he was even smiling about the Chuck thing. Damn it, the one time his bully isn't causing trouble for him. No, even that will be too far for Chuck, he should've known that.

"Who the hell was that guy? Why the hell does he want the chip so bad much that he was willing to shot me in the head?" Vincent sighed, "Other than caps, of course, I need find that damn guy and I need...I need answers. I just want answers honestly." He sat down near his grave and sighed, "Dad, where are you? Please dad, please come and help me. Please help me, I want to go home and play games with my friends. I don't want to be here, I miss home."
