Aftermath
"S-she's gone. Lionblaze she's gone! LEAFPOOL! LEAF-" Lionblaze pushed Jayfeather to the side before he could jump off the cliff into the lake with her. The blind cat stood back up and yowled out in grief,
"WE PUSHED HER TO THIS!" Lionblaze dipped his head.
"This reminds me of Hollyleaf… except this time…we're sure she's gone…" The warrior murmured. He crept closer to Jayfeather and rubbed his head against his in sorrow.
"Don't worry Jay. Our mom is in Starclan, for sure. With Cinderpelt." Lionblaze wanted to be the stronger one, but his lips curled and he finally let out a pained wail.
"…W-we're kind of alone now aren't we uh? Our father is in another clan….Leafpool is dead…Hollyleaf is missing-" Jayfeather got cut short.
"No. We have each other Jay!" Lionblaze lapped his tongue passionately against Jay's muzzle. "We all we have…"
"What should tell the clan?" The medicine cat sniffled returning the gesture across his kin's neck, purring through whimpers.
"The truth, they saw it coming. Oh Starclan, let our mom be with you."
"If only we were sooner, she could have still been here…"
"We tried our best." Lionblaze curled his tail within his brothers. "Come. We have to hurry and tell the clan so we can sit vigil." Both cats sulked back to their camps, pelts brushing against each other.
"I...I forgive you Leafpool..." Jayfeather choked out, tears still falling out his blind eyes. Lionblaze shut his lids, then repeated what his kin said.
"I forgive you too Leafpool. I forgive you too."
