Chapter 2

"Hey Angie, How are you?" asked Hodgins as he walked over to the couch that Michael was playing on.

"I hate cases where the victim is a child. She was so helpless and defenceless and look what happened to her" said Angela like she always does in child murder cases.

"It's alright Angela. We will find this inhumane person and find justice for this little girl. For now come and play with me and Michael" Hodgins gave Angela a hug.

"I have nearly finished the facial reconstruction. Once I find the ID and call Booth and Brenann I'll come and play with you and Michael" said Angela going back to her drawing. Hodgins quickly kissed his wife on the cheek and left her office and took Michael with him.

"Booth" said Booth answering his phone.

"Her name was Anastasia Goldfarm. She was 6 years old and lived with her Mum and Dad on Woodlake drive across the road from the park. Her parents reported her missing 2 weeks ago. She is a famous child Ballerina" said Anglea to Booth over the phone. Booth knew Angela hated child cases and you could near she was about to start crying.

"Thanks Angela" said Booth as he hanged up his phone.

"Angela has an ID. Her name was Anastasia Goldfarm. She was only 6 years old" said Booth to Brenann who was with him at the Hoover.

"I'll come with you to see her parents"

"What about Amelia? She can't come with us. She's too young for us to her out to the field. It would not be professional to take a baby to tell a family that their child was murdered. What if one of the parents is the killer" Booth said worried about what he was introducing his own daughter to a world of crime.

"She'll be fine. Amelia will be in my hands the entire time"

"I don't think that we should"

"Booth you are the one that said a baby needs a mothers touch to make everything better. Therefore if I am not with Amelia she won't be alright" said Bones quite persuasively

"Fine let's go then." Booth said picking up his papers and grabbing Amelia's bag.

Bones and Booth arrived at the Goldfarm's residence and felt very uneasy to find that it was around the corner from their own house. Booth knocked on the door with Brenann right by his side. Mrs Goldfarm opened the door and Booth announced himself.

"Mrs Goldfarm?" She nodded.

"I am special agent Seely Booth and this is my partner Dr. Temperance Brenann from the Jeffersonian Institute. May we please come in" Mrs Goldfarm's eyes started to tear up.

"We are very sorry for your loss Mr and Mrs Goldfarm." Booth said in his kind and gentle voice that he always used when talking to the loved ones of the deceased.

"H…H…How did she die?" asked Mr Goldfarm.

"It seems after a primarily examination that someone put excessive force to her hyoid which caused it to snap. Once the attacker strangler her they smashed an large object over her head" said Bones in the most uncompassionate way known to human beings. While she was talking to the Goldfarm's she has Amelia in her hands shaking her from side to side trying to keep her quiet and asleep. Mr and Mrs Goldfarm just burst into tears.

"Bones! A bit more compassion would be nice." Booth said sternly reminding Bones that the remains were once a living human being.

"Mum. What going on here?" asked Anastasia's older brother Charlie.

"Charlie. Ummm…Your sister was found" said his mother.

"That's good when is she coming home" said Charlie excited that he would get to see his sister after 2 long weeks without her. Bones and Booth looked at each other knowing the young boy's dreams were about to be crushed. Mrs and Mr Goldfarm were in absolute tears and knew that they couldn't tell their only other child the truth so Bones decided to speak up.

"Charlie. Your sister Anastasia is no longer with us" Bones didn't really know what else to say. She had watched Booth do it many times but didn't know how hard it was. Bones could see the boy was in his teens so she didn't need to sugar coat it.

Charlie just feel into the chair in shocked. His little sister had just been killed.

"This must be hard for you, but did anyone dislike your daughter"

"Our daughter was a beautiful and talented ballerina who was oon going to be featured in a performance of swan lake in the American Ballet. Many of the parents at Ana's ballet school didn't like that she was getting all the attention" said Mr Goldfarm, slowly gaining his composure.

"What school did Anastasia go to" questioned Booth.

"Beautiful Ballerina's school of Ballet just down the road"

"Thanks. If there is anything you think of please don't hesitate to call me" said Booth handing his card to the grieving parents.

"Do you know who did this to my daughter?" asked Mrs Goldfarm trying to communicate words through the tears that poured down her face.

"No yet but Dr. Brenann here is the best forensic anthropologist in the world and she will be able solve this murder in no time" Booth said proud of his girlfriend's achievements.

"Thank you please find out who did this to my little Anastasia" said Mr Goldfarm as he got up to shake Booth's hand.

Bones, with Amelia in her hands and Booth then left the house without saying another word. Once they got into the car they started to discuss the case.

"I know you can't rule out any options Bones, but I doubt someone as young as Anastasia had many if any enemies that wanted her dead"

"Booth I hate thinking that there may be a serial killer out their killing little girls. What is something was to happen to Amelia" Booth clasped his hand with Bones. He hated seeing her so upset. Ever since Amelia was born she has been having trouble dealing with child murder cases.

"Bones, nothing is going to happen to Amelia. I will make sure of it"

"I love you Booth"

"I love you too Bones" said Booth as he lightly kissed his girlfriend on the forehead.
