The Spirit Flies Free

Chapter Two

"Cassie, I think there's someone at the front door. I thought I heard the doorbell. Do you want me to get it?"

"No, Felicity I'll go. You're in the middle of cooking breakfast."

"While you're at it would you summon the men? Breakfast is almost on the table."

"Will do." I'm going to miss Felicity's home cooked meals when she takes over the Borderline. Cassie opened the front door to find an overnight courier driver waiting. "Hey Ian, what brings you out this way so early in the morning?"

"Good Morning Cassie. I have an overnight package for a Robert Wolf. Is he here?"

"He's out in the barn. I was just about to fetch him and my brother for breakfast. Can you hold on will I get him?"

"No problem Cassie."

She started down the steps and looked back. "Why don't you accompany me to the barn? Mojave can sign for the package and we can chat. Can you stay for breakfast? You know Felicity makes enough to feed a small army."

"I'd love to Cassie but I'm on a schedule. Can you fix me something to eat on the fly? I love Felicity's cooking. That's why Julie and I eat at the Borderline as often as we can."

"I'm sure we can whip you up a breakfast sandwich. Do you have a travel mug? Can I freshen your coffee too. Excuse me. Mojave! Cheyne! Breakfast!"

Cheyne answered her call. "Coming Sis!" Mojave and Cheyne walked out of the barn knocking the dust from their clothing and wiping their hands. Cheyne waved at Ian. "Hey Ian, been awhile. Business or breakfast?"

Ian and Cheyne shook hands. "Business, I have a package for Robert Wolf. But I was promised some breakfast to go."

Mojave stepped up. "I'm Robert Wolf."

"Yes sir, Mr. Wolf. Would you please sign by the X? Thank you."

Cheyne put his arm around Ian's shoulder. "Let's see about that breakfast you were promised. They headed for the house.

Mojave looked at the address of the sender. "Finally." He ripped open the envelope and showed Cassie the contents. "I asked my sister to overnight my birth certificate. Can't get a marriage license without it." He put the document back in the pouch and handed it to Cassie. "Why don't you put this in the desk with yours." He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her on the forehead. "What do you say Brown Eyes? We go to the courthouse, take out a license, gather the family, and make it official. Robert and Cassidy Wolf. Has a nice ring to it, don't you think?"

"It sounds perfect. Do you think your sister and her family would like to attend? I'd love to meet them. We'll fly them in. Do you think they could stay for a while? I'd like to get to know them better."

Mojave tapped Cassie on the nose with his index finger. "Looking to postpone the honeymoon? I want us to go away, drive until we find a nice cabin, and never leave the bedroom for about oh, say a week."

Cassie buried her face in Mojave's chest. "Wild horses couldn't stop me, but I really want to meet your family."

"Okay you win. We'll just do some intense rehearsal for the honeymoon."

Cassie gave him a quick poke to the ribs. "That's going to difficult to do with a houseful of guests. You get a bit noisy when we…"

"I get noisy? That's one of the things I find most charming about you. How vocal you get when we're in the, what's the phrase, throes of passion. Would you like me to quote you?"

"No! Let's go into breakfast. I'm starving hungry and Cheyne's appetite won't let him slow down long enough to let his fork cool off. He'll eat everything that isn't nailed down."

After breakfast Cassie went to check on Rio and Cheyne headed back to the barn. "Mojave…you coming?"

"I'll be right out. I need to talk to Felicity for a minute. I need her advice on something I want to buy for Cassie."

"Okay, man. Take your time. You know how much my wife likes to talk about shopping or any topic for that matter." Cheyne ducked as a sponge flew past his head.

"I heard that Cheyne Bauer!"

Mojave picked up the sponge and went into the kitchen. "Hey Felicity, how did you miss a target as big as Cheyne's head?"

"My aim was way off."

"Felicity I need your help with something."

"Sure Mojave. What can I do for you?"

"I need you to keep Cassie busy. I'm going into town and pick up something I had made and I want to surprise her. Besides the tack shop called and the new bridle she ordered for Rio came in so I'm going to use that as an excuse to leave. We need some feed for the horses so I'm going to drive the truck and I don't want her body getting jostled around in the cab."

Something in Mojave's voice made Felicity look into his eyes. "Cassie won't discuss the miscarriage with you."

"No she refuses to talk about it. It's been two weeks but every time I bring it up, she makes some excuse and changes the subject. I don't know what to do Felicity. I can't get her to open up to me. What made you ask?"

"Something about the tone in your voice and the look in your eyes when you said Cassie's name. She did the exact same thing when Trace died. Sealed herself in a cocoon of grief and closed everyone out. Doctor Bauer made appointments for her with a counselor. She'd never show up. She said talking about it wouldn't bring Trace back. She went on like that for two years."

"What happened after the two years?"

"You showed up. You gave her a reason to move on with her life. She fell in love with you."

"And I fell in love with her. I've never met a woman like Cassie. I've never this way felt about a woman in my life. She's the best thing that ever happened to me. I'm at a loss as to how to reach her."

"She's not acknowledging that there's an empty place in your heart as well. You're going to have to find a time and place where you're completely alone and tell her that you're suffering too. That may spur the conversation. All you can do is try. Hey, how's your sex life? Been, what, about three weeks now?"

Mojave shoulders shook as he laughed. "Felicity, you're something. We're working on it." He gave Felicity a hug. "Let me tell Cheyne my plans and I'll head to town."

Felicity watched him walked toward the barn. Damn, that man looks so good going south, looks pretty fine heading north too. I wouldn't have thought of him as being so sensitive. Most men don't like dealing with a touchy subject. I wonder if there's something in his past…none of your business girl.

Cassie walked out of Rio's barn just in time to see Mojave turn left out of the driveway and head toward town. Where's he going…probably to pick up the horse feed? I remember Cheyne saying we were getting low. She walked up the steps of the house and sat down in a chair on the front porch. Felicity came around the front carrying a laundry basket full of sheets and towels. "Hey girl, where did Mojave go? Looks like he was headed to town."

"He went to pick up a load of feed and the tack shopped called. The new bridle you ordered came in. He was going to swing by and pick it up too."

"I wish he'd come to the barn and got me. I would have like to gone into town with him."

"I'm glad he didn't. You and I have to sit down and plan your big fat Native American wedding reception. We need to get a guest list together and I'm going to do the catering, with Jackson and Sarah's help of course. I want to add a catering business when I take over the Borderline and there's no time like the present to see if I can handle it. You don't mind being my guinea pig do you?" Felicity gave Cassie a wide-eyed look accompanied by a silly smile.

"Of course not. I'm confident you can handle it." You did say Jackson and Sarah were going to give you a hand?" Cassie smiled back at Felicity.

"Trust me I'm nervous about it. I'm thinking along the lines of small army here. As soon as I fold the laundry we'll sit down at the dining table and start planning the menu. So much to think about, food, drink, adult and otherwise, tents, tables, chairs, plates, eating utensils, lighting…Oh my God what am I getting myself into?"

"Let me talk to Mojave. We're going to get the license soon but we can wait until till everything is in place to get married. He has to call his sister and see if she and her family can come. We're flying them here. How long do you think it will take?"

"Since you're having it here at the ranch we don't have to worry about a hall. I've spoken to Amos about setting up the bar. He's going to close the Branch Water for the evening and loan me his bartenders. He said most of his regular customers would be here anyway."

"Along with Amos and his wife. I put them at the top of the guest list." Cassie noted.

"I'm thinking a month tops Cassie. Is that okay?"

"That's perfect Felicity. Let's get cracking. I can fold the laundry later. I wanted to tell you how grateful I am for everything you've done round here since…you know. I talked to Uncle Brad yesterday. He said I could go back to doing everything as before. It's been three weeks and I starting to get a bit stir crazy."

"It's been my pleasure Cassie. I love you like a sister you know that. You should take it easy though. Don't jump in with both feet. I know Mojave won't let you overdo it. That man is a keeper and smoking hot to boot."

Cassie opened the front door to the house for Felicity and turned to look out toward the road. "Truth that Felicity, I know it better than anybody.

"Hey Cassie…?"

"Yes Felicity?"

"Are you okay? Is there anything you want to talk about?"

"I'm fine Felicity. The only topic that needs our immediate attention is the wedding and the reception."

Felicity looked into Cassie's eyes. She was doing her best to cloak her sadness. Bring it up, let it go, bring it up, let it go. Better still let Mojave handle it. "You're right Cass. So let's get paper and pens and get started."

Mojave picked the feed, the bridle, and headed for the jewelry store. The owner Mr. Welling greeted him. "Mr. Wolf, it's good to see you again. I see Felicity gave you the message. Your order is ready and not to toot my own horn it's some of my best work. It was a great idea to bring in Cassie's old wedding ring to get her size."

"That was Felicity's idea. She found the ring in Cassie's jewelry box and told me to have you call her cell when the order was ready. Felicity wanted to help me surprise Cassie."

"I'm going to get your order out of the safe. I'll be right back." He returned with three black velvet boxes. "Let me show you the engagement ring first." He opened the box and showed it to Mojave. It was a one-carat radiant cut diamond set in an eighteen carat gold band. Mojave took the ring out of the box and held it up to the light. It sparkled like a star. Mr. Welling was beaming with pride at his handiwork. Mojave handed the ring to Mr. Welling who shined it with a polishing cloth and placed it back into the box.

"It's as beautiful as the woman whose going to wear it. You've outdone yourself Mr. Welling."

"Now let me show you the wedding bands. I love doing inlay work. It's always a challenge." He opened the boxes and turned them around. Wide gold bands inlaid with Sleeping Beauty Turquoise. "I did as you asked and melted Cassie's old band and added it to the gold of the new one. It's very thoughtful of you to honor Trace's memory this way."

"Trace was a good man and Cassie loved him." Mojave reflected. "It just seemed like the right thing to do. What do I owe you?" He paid the bill and Mr. Welling put the boxes in a small gold fabric bag with a drawstring closer. Mojave shook his hand and left the store. Sitting in the truck he opened the bag and took the box holding the engagement ring. I can't wait to see her face when I put this on her finger and I know just where I going to take her to propose this time. Mojave put the ring back in the bag, started the truck, and headed for the ranch. Home, he thought, I'm headed for home and the amazing woman who has taken possession of this gypsy's heart.

….

Cassie was taking a nap when Mojave returned. He stood in the bedroom doorway and leaned in slightly to check on her. She was resting quietly. Perfect. Mojave backed out of the room and went out the backdoor to Cheyne and Felicity's house. He knocked on the door and Felicity answered. "Mojave, you're back! Did you pick up the rings? Can I see them?"

He took the boxes out of the bag and they sat down on the sofa. Mojave set the boxes on the coffee table. He opened the box with the diamond ring in it first. "What do you think Felicity? Will Cassie like it?"

"Like it! She's going to love it! Can I take it out of the box?"

"Allow me." Mojave handed the ring to Felicity. She stood up and went to the window. Holding the ring up to the light she moved it back and forth in the sunbeams streaming through the window.

"Look at how the light causes rainbow to dance in the stone. It's a stunning ring. Are you bringing her to the Borderline tonight? I'll make sure the back booth is reserved for you. Show up about seven o'clock. She'll be so surprised."

"I proposed and she accepted but I got to thinking about it and I want to do it up the old school way. Cassie is all class and I want to ask for her hand in marriage properly."

"Mojave, you're a bit of a romantic aren't you." Felicity patted him on the arm.

"Cassie brings out my chivalrous nature. I know I'm rough around the edges but she has a way of honing them."

Felicity nodded. "Cassie was born with a gentle spirit. I've seen her work with the wildest of horses and have them under the saddle in no time. She does it all with love and smooth touch. She treats people the same way. She's the first in line if someone is in need. Hey, I almost forgot. Let me see the wedding rings."

Mojave pushed the boxes toward her. Felicity opened the box that held Cassie's ring. "Oh Mojave, it's so beautiful. Gold inlaid with turquoise. She'll love that the band is so wide." She popped open the box with his ring. "It's a perfect matched set…just like you and Cassie. Mr. Welling is a true artist.

"Mr. Welling suggested the Sleeping Beauty turquoise. It reminds me of a day when there's not a cloud in the sky. How the blue sparkles in the sunlight. Can you keep the bands here? I don't want to Cassie to find them."

Felicity closed the box lids. "I'll put them in the fire safe in the bedroom closet."

Mojave stood up and slipped the engagement ring box in his pocket. "Thank you for all your help Felicity. I want this evening to be special."

"It will be. Cheyne and your future in-laws will be there too. Try not to be too nervous. I know you weren't expecting an audience."

"I'm glad they'll be there to share in the moment. Felicity there's something I didn't tell you about Cassie's wedding band."

"What about it?'

"I took the wedding band Trace gave her and had it melted down and added to the rest of the gold that formed the new band. I wanted a way to honor Trace's memory since he's entrusting Cassie's future to me."

Felicity threw her arms around Mojave. "What an amazing gesture. Most men would have never thought of it. You're something else Big Man. You'd better get going. We'll see you tonight." Felicity stood on tiptoe and kissed Mojave on the cheek. She saw him to the door. She was wiping soft tears from her eyes as she watched him head for the barn to help Cheyne unload the feed from the truck. Men, just when you think you have them all figured out they turn the tables on you and do the last thing you would expect.

Cassie was in the pantry when Mojave finished work for the day. It was late in the afternoon. His deep voice echoed throughout the house. "Brown Eyes, where are you?"

Cassie turned her head to listen. She loved the rich timbre of his voice. It flowed into her ears like a shot of expensive bourbon. Warm and smooth. "I'm in the pantry trying to figure out what to cook for dinner."

Mojave stepped in behind her and slipped his arms around her waist. He rested his chin on her shoulder and whispered in Cassie's ear. "You're not cooking tonight. I spoke to Felicity after I got back from town. Seems that Jackson, Sarah and my soon to be sister-in-law are revamping the menu at the Borderline. She wants us to come in tonight and try some of the new dishes they are working on. Come on Angel, it will do you good to get out of the house and it will be fun. Your Mom, Dad, and Cheyne will be there tonight. It'll be fun. On the way back we can put the top down on the jeep, find a place to park, spread a blanket on the ground, and make out under the stars. According to the weather report, the skies will be crystal clear. Maybe we'll see a meteor or two." He began trailing kisses down her neck.

"How can I say no to a romantic evening with my man?"

Mojave and Cassie arrived at the Borderline exactly at seven o' clock. He parked the jeep, climbed out, and opened the passenger side door for Cassie. As they entered the café Felicity was waiting for them. "Welcome to the Borderline Café. How many for dinner this evening?"

Cassie was staring at Felicity like she had three heads. She looked back at Mojave. He was shaking his head and looking at Felicity with amusement. He cleared his throat. "Two"

"I have the perfect booth for you." She picked up two menus. "Please follow me."

Felicity leads them to the booth in the back of the restaurant. The same booth where they first met "How's this?"

They sat down and Mojave smiled at Felicity. "You're right Miss. This is perfect."

"Wonderful. Now what can I get you to drink?"

Cassie looked at Mojave and then Felicity. What is going on? "I'd like unsweetened iced tea and a glass of water."

"Fine, and you sir?"

"A glass of water and a cup of coffee."

"Here are your menus and I'll be right back with your drinks." Felicity headed back to the counter when the door opened and Cassie's parents and Cheyne entered the café. "Felicity waved at them. "Hi Mom, Hi Dad. Hey Baby, just sit anywhere and Sarah will be with you in a minute."

The group went back to speak to Cassie and Mojave before they found a table. Cassie hugged her parents and her brother. Mojave hugged Yanaha and shook hands with Cheyne and Doctor Bauer. While Cassie was talking to Cheyne and her mother, Mojave took her father aside. "Doc, could I talk to you…in private?"

"Of course Mojave. Let's step outside."

Cassie watched as they headed to the door. She noticed Mojave was running his hands through his hair. Where are they going?

Mojave opened the door for Doctor Bauer and followed him outside.

"What can I do for you Mojave?"

"I'm going to ask Cassie to marry me tonight and I wanted to ask you…as her father…for her hand in marriage."

"You have Yanaha and my blessings son. You've made my daughter very happy. We didn't think she would risk her heart again. When Trace died she threw herself into her work and buried her grief somewhere deep in her heart. She refused to talk to anyone about it. So let me ask you, has she discussed the miscarriage with you?"

"No. I've tried to draw her out but she's not having any of it."

"Well give her a little more time. She may open up to you since you both share the loss. This was her first pregnancy and having it end abruptly was a shock to her system. You have to remember that Cassie's a nurse and she's seen her share of sadness. She's also seen her share of miracles."

Mojave shoved his right hand in his pocket and touched the ring box. "That's about all I can do for now."

"You can go in there and propose to my daughter. Are you nervous? I don't think she'll say no."

"I've already asked her and she accepted but I wanted to do it the right way, with a ring."

"Let's go inside before Cassie comes looking for us." William patted Mojave on the back. "I guess I refer to you as son from now on if that's okay with you?"

"I'd be honored Doc."

They went inside. Cassie turned around and smiled when she saw Mojave returning to the booth. "What were you and Dad talking about?"

"We were having a serious discussion about you Cassie."

"What about me?"

Mojave ran his hands through his hair and smiled at Cassie. No time like the present. He got up and came to Cassie's side of the booth. He patted the end of the seat with his hand. "Scoot down here please." She slid to the end of the seat. Mojave made a circling motion with his hand. Cassie swung her legs out over the end of the seat. She gave him an inquiring look. He bent over and took both her hands in his and then bent down on one knee. You could hear a pin drop in the café. "Cassie this is the place where you and I met. You took a chance on me, a total stranger, and then brought me into your house and cared for me after the accident. You knew nothing about me and that was of no concern to you. I fell in love with you during the two weeks while I was recovering. I never met a woman like you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Cassie will you marry me?" He let go her hands, reached in his pocket, and produced the ring box. Mojave opened the lid and removed the ring. He picked up her left hand, held the gem in front of her ring finger. "Cassie would you do me the honor of becoming Mrs. Robert Wolf?" Tears trickled down her cheeks. She wiped them away.

"I guess with you and I the second time is a charm. Oh, yes, Mojave I love you and I will marry you!"

He slipped the ring on her finger, stood up, pulled her into his arms, and kissed her just as everyone in the café came over to congratulate them. Mojave kissed her again. "All we need now is a license and a date Brown Eyes."

"You'll need to call your sister in the next couple of days so we can get this show on the road. We can pick up the license next week. It's valid for one year after issue. Oh, I'll need a new dress. Felicity will help me with that. I think she be my maid of honor since I was hers."

"Do you want me and Cheyne to rent tuxedos?"

"I loved to see you wear your black jeans, white dress shirt open at the collar, and the black leather jacket I bought you. I doubt you'd be comfortable in a tux."

Mojave kissed Cassie on the tip of her nose. "You are so right about that. Never have been big on suits of any kind."

She whispered in his ear. "I'd marry you stark naked if that's what you wanted."

"We'll save that for the honeymoon. I don't think the people at the courthouse would be particularly comfortable with a nude wedding party."

"You are as right as rain about that. Besides Felicity would never forgive me if I cheated her out of a shopping trip."

"I heard that Cassie!" Felicity shouted from the kitchen. "And you're right. I know where we can get the most scrumptious antique lace dress. It'll look just perfect on you. Plus it gives me the best excuse to buy myself a new dress and shoes. Cheyne, I need the credit card."

Mojave and Cassie went back to the booth and sat down. She held out her left hand and admired her engagement ring. "It's dazzling. Did you pick it put yourself?"

Mojave took her left hand, turned it over and kissed her palm. "Mr. Welling helped me with the setting but I selected the stone. I wanted a diamond that sparkled like the woman who's wearing it. I…uh…had our wedding bands made too. Mr. Welling did a spectacular job. I want to surprise you with them on our wedding day so don't go snooping around trying to find them. I have them hidden in a very safe place."

Cassie sighed. "I guess I'll have to keep my curiosity in check. How did you get my ring size?"

"Felicity borrowed a ring out of your jewelry box and I took it to the jeweler's so he could get the correct size."

"You and Felicity are as thick as thieves aren't you? What do you say we order dinner? Suddenly I'm starving." Cassie looked toward the counter and shouted at Felicity. "Oh miss, we're ready to order now!"

Felicity shouted back at Cassie. "You'll eat what I bring you!" Everyone in the café burst into laughter.

….

Mojave and Cassie drove to the courthouse the next day and took out a marriage license. Cassie loved to watch other women react to Mojave. She swore she could hear their hearts fluttering. They were waiting in line and a female clerk shouted "Next!" They stepped up to the counter and the clerk's eyes met Mojave's. "Oh, how may I help you?"

Mojave spoke and Cassie thought the woman was going to start drooling. "We're here to apply for a marriage license. Can you help us?" Mojave could make love to a woman with his voice alone.

"Yes…I can assist you with that. Oh…Cassie…Hello. I didn't see you standing there."

Most women don't see me when they're within fifty feet of Mojave. "Hello Sheryl, how are Robbie and the kids doing?"

"They're doing fine Cassie. I had breakfast at the Borderline this morning. Sarah told me you had gotten engaged there last night."

Cassie slipped her arm through Mojave's. "We've been engaged for awhile now. He surprised me and announced it our family and friends last night. We're going to get married here at the courthouse and have the reception at the ranch. You'll get an invitation in the mail. Felicity is my wedding planner and she's helping me with the…well with everything. Have you met my fiancé? Mojave, this is Sheryl. We went to school together."

Sheryl offered her right hand expecting to shake hands with Mojave. He kissed her hand instead. "Pleased to meet you Sheryl." Cassie had to look away or she'd start laughing. Sheryl looked like a deer caught in the headlights. I'll bet she needs to change her knickers right about now. "Now about that marriage license Sheryl."

Sheryl blinked her eyes a few times. Oh…yes…please take a seat and we'll start processing the paperwork. I need your birth certificates and your social security numbers. Cassie handed Sheryl the envelope. "I brought Trace's death certificate too."

Sheryl reached out and touched Cassie's hand. "I could have looked that up for you honey. Now let process this and get you two that license." She started to enter the information into her computer. "Looks like everything is in order. This shouldn't take too long."

A half and hour later, Mojave and Cassie left, license in hand. He picked Cassie up and swung her around. "Won't be long now Brown Eyes and you'll be mine forever."

"I'm already yours and I'd prefer till the end of time." He set her down and kissed her so passionately she felt her knees go weak. And I don't think the end of time will be long enough.

…..

"Mojave, please, I love you, please don't leave me!"

"I'm sorry Cassie, I love you too, but I want children. You're unable to give me what I need." He started his motorcycle and headed down the driveway and toward the open road.

Cassie laid in bed, bathed in a cold sweat, her heart pounding against her chest wall, shaken to her core by the recurring nightmare that started when she lost the baby. The dream was so vivid. She sat up and looked at Mojave sleeping peacefully by her side. Climbing out of bed she tried to calm her panic attack. "I've got to get out of here." She pulled on her jeans, slipped on a denim shirt and headed out the front door in the direction of Rio's barn. Flipping on the light switch for the porch lights she ran as fast as she could till she reached the barn door. Cassie jerked the door open and stormed inside. Rio was not there. She had turned him out into the back pasture for a few days. Cassie stood riveted in place for a few minutes, her chest heaving. Suddenly she screamed "NO" as loud as she could and started to throw anything she could get her hands on. Bridles, saddles, buckets, shovels, bails of hay took flight as she tried to work out her sadness. Holding everything inside had finally come to a head as she quickly destroyed everything in her path.

Mojave heard the front door slam and saw that Cassie's side of the bed was empty. He called for her. "Cassie…Brown Eyes? Where are you?" He got out of bed and searched the house and noticed the front door was ajar. Going back to the bedroom he put on his jeans and boots and followed her to the barn. He approached the doorway and watched in amazement as Cassie trashed the barn. Mojave stepped inside and grabbed Cassie by the arms. "Baby what's the matter? What are you doing?"

She fought against his hold on her. "Let me go Mojave! Go back to the house! I want to be alone!"

"No! I'm not leaving you. Tell me what's wrong. Talk to me Cassie."

She stopped struggling and went limp in his arms, exhausted. "Talking won't help. It won't bring our baby back."

Mojave picked her up and trapped her between his body and the barn wall. He turned her around so she was facing him. "Cassie stop concealing your pain from me and don't shut me out. We've both suffered a loss and we're both hurting. We need to talk about this, not pretend it never happened." He touched her stomach. "Our baby is no longer in your womb but his or her spirit flies free. What happens to you affects me too. I have a son I can't claim and now a baby we'll never hold. We need to support each other. You don't need to shoulder the burden alone. I feel like you're pulling away from me. Your body took the brunt of the pain but I'm grieving too." He pulled Cassie into his arms and buried his face in her neck. Cassie could feel his tears against her skin and she broke down and started crying too.

"I'm sorry, Mojave, so sorry. I was only thinking of myself. I didn't consider your pain. Please forgive me. I'm so afraid I won't be able to give you children. What if…"

He raised his head and looked deep into her eyes. "We can't live our lives on what if Cassie. Your father and Doctor Fletcher said you shouldn't have any problems carrying a baby to full term. They just want you to take time and let your body heal. That's why Doc put you back on the pill for three months. He said after that we could try again. We'll have beautiful babies Cassie. Wait and see. Think about the future and let the past go."

Mojave grabbed her hands and pinned them to the wall with his right hand. Putting his left hand around her waist and pulling her tightly against him he kissed her. The kiss started soft and slow but quickly became deep and merciless. His breathing was so heavy it was pressing against her chest. Cassie twisted her head and broke the kiss. "Mojave it's been three weeks since we been together. Please…please…want me as desperately as I want you. I'm begging you to make love to me."

Mojave released her arms and pressed his hands to each side of her face. He looked at Cassie with such intensity she could have sworn his eyes were on fire. His mouth hovered close to her ear and he spoke in a whisper that was more like a growl. "I'll make love to you second, I need to fuck you first. I want to bury my cock in you up to the hilt and ride you until you beg me to stop, and woman while I may ease up for a moment I won't stop. I'm going to cross the line with you over and over again. I want you naked in that big bed of ours. We need to go back to the house right now!" He scooped her up in his arms and made for the house. He took the front porch steps two at a time. When he reached the landing he set Cassie on her feet and opened the front door. He led Cassie inside and slammed the door behind him. Mojave wrapped his arms around her began a relentless assault on her mouth while backing her up and into the bedroom. He unbuttoned her denim shirt and peeled it off her shoulders. Cassie hadn't bothered to put on a bra and Mojave gently kneaded her creamy, pink tipped breasts with his callused hands, tasting one and then the other. Cassie head tilted back and she moaned. Kneeling down he unsnapped and unzipped her jeans pulling them down along with her panties.

"Put your hands on my shoulders." She raised one leg at a time and he stripped the rest of her clothes from her body. "Sit down on the edge of the bed and lay back." He spread her legs open and nipped, licked, and kissed the inside of her thighs. Cassie squirmed and pressed her warm mound closer to his mouth. Mojave's tongue found her sensitive core. Her breath hissed through her teeth as she draped her legs over Mojave's shoulders. She was wet and velvety. His breath was scorching against her glistening lips and he was moving his hands over her body. Cassie was tugging at his hair and Mojave know she was close to her release. He began to massage her tender bud with his fingers. Moving from between her legs he laid along side her. He wanted to see Cassie's face when she came. She was whimpering his name, her hips and senses spiraling out of control under his touch. She surrendered to the thrill of his skilled fingers and the waves of pleasure that washed over her. A soft shimmer veiled Cassie's eyes and she murmured a question shallowly from her throat.

"Mojave?"

"Yes Brown Eyes."

"I thought you were going to fuck me Mister. What's taking you…?"

Mojave climbed off the bed and stripped off his boots and jeans. He was back on the bed and between her thighs in an instant. "I love you Cassie and I want all of you. I'm not going to hold anything back. I want to feel the electricity of our bodies when …"

Cassie reached down and encircled his already rigid shaft with her fingers. She began to slowly stroke his arousal feeling a light gush of pre-cum in the palm of her hand. Mojave gently removed her hand. "Careful, I can't take too much of …" She raised her palm to her mouth and licked his intoxicating, opaque elixir from the heel of her hand to the tips of her fingers with her tongue. A noise resembling thunder rose from the back of his throat as her breathing came in little gasps. Bending over her body he began to feast on her lips. Hard and hungry, his tongue lingers in her mouth. He spoke sharply against her lips. "Woman…I can't…wait." He filled her completely with one swift thrust. Cassie's heat was slick with her juices and her muscles tightly pulsing around his erection. He laced his fingers with hers and raised her arms over her head. Her long legs hugged his waist and she arched her back to meet his urgent lunge. Mojave's intense sexual cravings needed to be satisfied and he began to drive his hips at a frenzied pace, Cassie moaning in his ear, begging him for more.

"Oh yes…Uuunnnhhh…baby fuck me…hard…please…feels so good…you're driving me crazy."

"Cassie…damn…pull me in…you're so…fucking hot…so tight…I can't hold…back." One last hard, deep, thrust and Mojave's cock began to spasm and her hips began to jerk as he erupted inside her. His muscular body, bathed in sweat, shuddered. Cassie cried out her pleasure as Mojave pressed his face against the side of her neck. His ragged breath echoed in her ear. "Woman…you bring out the savage in me. You touch me and all my senses erupt like a volcano. I can't wait until we're man and wife." He kissed her, rolled on his back pulling her on top of him.

Cassie gave him a sly grin. "I can't wait for the honeymoon. You know it's going to last for the next fifty or so years."

Mojave kissed her again. "Promise?"

She ran her fingers through his damp hair. "Yes."

He hugged her tightly and whispered in her ear. "Okay."
