She didn't want to leave her dear captain alone just yet. She wasn't ready to let him go, without her guiding him like she always did. This was a new experience for both of them - Pit would enter this Battle Royale or whatever it was called and live among the humans while Palutena stayed upon Skyworld.
She could tell that he was getting impatient with her by the numerous eye rolls he gave her.
"Lady Palutena," he began with a lecturing tone. The roles were now reversed, with him lecturing her. "I'll be fine. Humans aren't that complex! I took on a whole army for crying out loud, have some faith in me!"
The goddess of light knew he was going to be OK. It was the fact he wouldbe OK that bothered her. She was so used to babying him and looking after him that she forgot he was growing up. Maybe this was good for him after all, and she had to think of some good final words to let him go.
"I heard they eat angels for Thanksgiving."
"Lady Palutena!"
