Olivia slid off the bed onto her knees. She didn't break eye contact the entire way down. She gently tucked a stray blond hair behind Alex's ear, tenderly cupped her jaw and stroked her cheek with her thumb. "You do realize, this means we'll have to live together, right" she whispered with tears in her eyes.
"We can discuss living arrangements, when you answer the question" Alex was petty confident of the detective's answer, but she really wanted to hear Olivia say it.
"You mean everything to me; you are my heart and soul. You are the reason I can smile when I wake up in the morning. After a hard case the only way I can function without self-destructing is because I know you are in my life. Just by being by my side you make me the happiest woman, I never thought I could love you more. But holding a beautiful ring asking me to spend my life with you takes on a whole new level of love. Of course I will marry you; if we could I would do it right now." Olivia couldn't hold back the tears any longer, they began to spill over.
Alex reached up and started to brush Liv's tears away. "I love you too, sweetie. I've had the ring for a few weeks now. I was just never sure what your reaction would be." Alex gently took her beautiful fiancée's left hand and slipped the exquisitely simple ring onto Liv's finger. As they looked down at the brunette's newly adorned hand they both smiled and said "perfect." In that moment, both women realized no matter what the cruel world threw at them, they could tackle anything together. Alex tilted Liv's head back and leaned in for a soft, loving kiss.
