HI! BEEN A LONG TIME! SORRY HERE'S CHAPTER 2!
Tom's P.O.V.
A million thoughts went through my head. One of them was we're dead. We're dead. We're dead. We're dead. Matthew was currently explaining to Mary who we were and what can happen to us while I was pacing in front of the library room. I kept hoping nothing would happen. I mean I've survived to adulthood unlike most demigods. I kept pacing telling myself it would be okay when I suddenly had the worst thought and raced back into the library. Only to find Matthew and Mary kissing.
"Um... I could come back later," I said interrupting them. They broke apart and looked embarrassed.
"Sorry" Matthew mumbled. I smiled and then remembered what I came in for. I looked at them and told them what needed to happen. How my daughter, Sybil, needed to go to camp. How she was half-demigod and how they shouldn't have children yet.
"Oh my gods I didn't realize this" Matthew said running his fingers through his hair.
"I suddenly understand why you say gods instead of god," she said smiling; "I'll go so you can find Samantha to talk" she finished and started walking out the door. As soon as she left I turned to Matthew my eyes saying my thoughts.
"She left over a half our ago, so she can't be anywhere here." he stated.
"I know." I thought for a minute before speaking again, "Maybe we should just continue today and find her tomorrow." I suggested.
"That's a good plan. Come on it's almost time for the luncheon and I'm starving." He walked out of the door. I followed in pursuit my stomach growling.
Sam's P.O.V.
"It was awkward" I said again, "I was hoping I'd never see him again" I leaned my head onto Nico's chest as we sat under a shady tree at camp.
"Well I'm glad he broke it off" he said, "because then we wouldn't have been together" he finished leaning down to kiss my head.
"Just promise me this won't come between us." I said looking up at him. His black obsidian eyes and black shaggy hair were perfect as always.
"Why would it come between us?" he asked worried. I sighed. I didn't want to explain to him about Tom. It was a story I didn't want to repeat or relive.
"Do you really want to know?" I asked hoping he would say no.
"Of course I do" he looked at me with worry in his eyes. I started to explain about the letter Tom and how we were engaged before that.
*FLASHBACK TO THAT MORNING*
I was sitting down sipping a cup of coffee when my other half brother, Nick son of Apollo (we have the same mom) and his wife Lizzie, Tom's sister. Nick was trying to get their one-year-old son Tommy to eat breakfast.
"Come on Tommy" Nick complained, " These masked peas taste really good!" he said putting a spoonful of peas into his mouth. He then made a face of disgust and spit the peas back into bowl.
"Okay never mind." He said, "You win." He wiped his mouth and Lizzie and I laughed.
"Next time remind me to get a photograph of that. I can show everyone at camp." I said sipping my coffee. He smiled at me and started to reply back when Lizzie cut him off.
"Excited for the wedding Samantha?" she asked. Looking up from her newspaper.
"I wish you'd call me Sam Lizzie. And yes very excited." I said grinning. I looked at the diamond ring feeling happy.
"It's no use Sam." My brother said, "She's old-fashioned."
"If she's old-fashioned why does she go by Lizzie if her full names Elizabeth." I asked.
"Because I don't like Elizabeth." Lizzie replied putting down the newspaper and sipping orange juice.
"And I don't like Samantha!" I replied.
"Alright, alright I'll call you Sam," she said giving in. I smiled and reached over for the bacon. As I was getting lost in my thoughts thinking of my future with Tom when Mr. Sprout my brother's servant came in with the post.
"Morning post Ms. Samantha" I smiled at him and took the letter from the plate.
"Thank you Sprout" I replied. He nodded and walked away. I took the letter opener and sliced open the envelope.
"Why it's from Tom!" I said excitedly. Lizzie smiled at her brother's name.
"That reminds me when you go back to camp say hi to Annabeth for me." The daughter of Athena said. I smiled and said of course. I looked at the letter and my smile fell. I couldn't believe what I was reading. The letter was worse than a hellhound.
Dear Samantha,
I hope your okay. I'm doing fine hear at the Abbey. All of the servants are fine. I however regret to inform you that I have bad news. It concerns the wedding. I hope you won't be mad a t me for this decision.
I have to back away from the wedding. I have found someone else here. I feel so sorry about this, but I realize I am no longer in love with you. I hope you can forgive me for this and I hope we can be friends.
Sincerely,
Tom Branson
Tears streamed down my face as finished the letter. Nick looked at me and asked what was wrong. I was re-reading the letter hoping it was some sort of sick joke. No, no, no, no, NO! Why is this happening to me?
"Samantha? What's wrong? Tell us." Nick said. I looked at him tears rolling down my face.
"I think I just need some air" I managed to say. I pushed my chair out and ran out of the room.
"What's in the letter?" Lizzie asked peering over the table. Nick's face-hardened and he looked up at Lizzie.
"I swear I will find your brother and hunt him down and kill him," Nick said with a menacing glare. He stood up and ran out of the room. As Lizzie read the letter herself her own face-hardened. She turned to her son and said, "Tommy we may need to rename you."
THIS IS SET IN THE 1900s. CAMP IS IN BRITAIN. IT MOVED THERE BECAUSE OF THE "WESTWERD EXPANSION"
