AN: Well, here is the second chapter, and it shows what happens after Miley and Michael arrive in New York for the concert that Miley has as Hannah Montana. It will be an interesting day and night, to say the least...
Chapter Two: Of Friendships and Rivalries
Michael was casually listening to music on his CD player as Miley was managing the bags they had over head of their compartment. Michael sat there, nodding his head back and forth while Miley finally managed to get her bags in the compartment. Miley took a seat next to her friend while he continued to listen to the music from his player. Miley tried to get his attention, but after her repeated attempts did not work, she took his headphones out of his ears, and he looked towards her.
"May I help you?" Michael asked with a little smile on his face.
"What are we going to do once we land in New York City?" Miley asked him.
"Well, we are going to stay with my friend and his girlfriend at their loft." Michael said.
"What are they like?" Miley asked Michael. Michael sighed, and took off his glasses. Miley knew that question was one that he was not expecting. That, or it was an answer that Miley was not ready for.
"He is a lot like me." Michael said, pinching the corner of his eyes and the bridge of his nose at the same time.
"Oh, good." Miley smiled.
"In most instances, yeah. You are going to find out more when you meet them." Michael said yawning. Miley shifted her weight in her seat, and looked over to where Michael was beginning to dose off himself.
"Miley, one more thing." Michael whispered, not looking at her, and keeping his head turned towards the window. "If you are thinking about asking how they met, don't. It will bring up a bad issue about David, and that is not good, at all."
Miley quickly turned towards her friend, and found out that he was already asleep. Miley was wondering what he was talking about, but sleep over took her before she had a chance to say anything...
Miley awoke with a jolt, and looked at her friend, who was standing in the isle next to her, trying to get their bags out of the over head compartment.
"What's going on?" Miley asked him.
"We landed. Time to get off the plane." Michael said, pulling luggage out of the hold. He let one of the bags that they brought up with them hit the ground in front of them.
"Uh, Mike, how long was I out for?" Miley asked him.
"The whole plane ride, young lady." Michael smiled at her. Miley looked around and saw the other passengers filing off of the plane. She grabbed her other bag, and she and Michael followed the other people that were getting off of the plane.
David, Alex, Michael and Miley were driving back to the loft in which they were saying, and it was a quiet, but talkative ride there. Michael, Alex and David were all talking about various stories, and laughing merrily as they did so, but there was something wrong here. She liked the young couple, and they were obviously good people, but the more that she sat there and talked to them, and listened to them talking, it was obvious that they were keeping something from them.
Then there was Michael. Almost to the exact minute that David and Alex picked them up, she could tell that there was something about Michael that she did not tell them. She had known Michael for a couple of years, and she thought that she knew almost everything about him, but now, she was not so sure. She knew that these three were hiding something, and it was not a good something, either.
Miley shifted gears as they arrived at the loft, and from the outside, it was a pretty nice place. Michael and David grabbed the bags, and went inside. Alex and Miley followed them, and then Miley saw the rest of the place, from the inside.
For two young people, Alex and David had a really nice place. A fairly large tv, a couch, and a bed occupied one area of the room, and looking up the stairs in the room, Miley could see another bed, with a smaller tv just in front of it. She wondered if this was where they were sleeping, her and Michael.
"Miley, you and Michael will be sleeping down here in the living room area, and the area upstairs is where we will be staying, ok?" David asked.
"Fine with me. This is a nice place after all." Miley smiled.
"Thanks, that means a lot coming from a friend of Mike's." David smiled. "I have to help Alex, if you don't mind."
Miley watched David walk over, and help Alex near the kitchen area while Michael made himself at home in the living room area.
"Michael, what are we going to do about the fact that there is only one bed?" Miley asked him.
"It's big enough for two people, so why not share it?" Michael asked her.
"Is that going to be fine with you?" Miley asked.
"It will, as long as someone I know keeps their hands to herself." Michael answered.
"I should be worried about you. Why do you sleep without a shirt anyways?" Miley shot back at him.
"Because I always- Wait, how do you know that I sleep without a shirt?" Michael asked, looking inquizitively at Miley.
"Never mind that. Let's just get settled in, shall we?" Miley said, quickly changing the subject.
"We are arguing that later." Michael said, laying his head back on the couch.
"Whatever." Miley said.
"You know that you want me." Michael whispered.
"I'm sorry?" Miley stated, rather loudly.
"Nothing..." Michael whispered, not looking at her.
"That's what I thought." Miley said, returning to her work.
AN: As the day rises in the next chapter, Miley soon figures out just what is weird about David and Alex, plus does Michael know about it? Wait and find out!
