2. Gallifrey to Trenzalore

Across a universe of endless, bitter war,
He travels: though truthfully, he seems to stray;
The winding way from Gallifrey to Trenzalore.

His ship; it seems so little from outside the door,
Takes him, and friends he meets by chance along the way,
Across a universe of endless, bitter war

A theft began his journey: fleeing from the law,
He visits many places, both mundane and fey:
His winding way from Gallifrey to Trenzalore

His legend passes into many planets' lore
In many planets' struggles he jumped into the fray
Across a universe of endless, bitter war

Too well he's known: he's studied till his foes are sure
They know the last and merest detail of his way -
His winding way from Gallifrey to Trenzalore

And so he hides: the histories will see no more
His battles: silent is his passing now today
Across a universe of endless, bitter war
His winding way from Gallifrey to Trenzalore.
