"I saw you play the piano."
Lightning looked up, the crystal pillar shining behind the huntress. "What?"
Fang smiled. "You play wonderfully."
"I... I did no such thing." Lightning was afraid to look away, like she usually would... she felt as if she would vanish.
Fang punched her shoulder playfully, "Yeah, right." The pulsian laughed, "Who do you think did this?"
The tanned woman reached up, and brushed the hair out of her eyes, exactly the same way. Lightning blinked.
"You know what's funny?" Fang asked.
"Tch."
"You're beautiful even when you cry."
The ex-soldier frowned, looking down at her feet. Then, without warning, she wrapped her arms around the pulsian. "Don't leave me again... okay?"
Fang smiled, wrapping her arms around the smaller woman. "Don't worry, Claire."
Lightning tightened her hold at the sound of her name, a tightening in her throat.
"I won't."
Fang looked up, staring at the crystal pillar that held Cocoon up.
I promise.
