'Mood Enhancers in Pie' by Lena Verere
CHAPTER 2! Ned' Reaction
A/N To do NOT own Pushing Daisies, Bryan Fuller, or Ned, Oliver, and Chuck. I DO own the concept of Crystal Meth. Also, I'm making a banner right now for the story! I have REALLY short chapters because I write these in one take. Don't like it? Tough. My story, not yours!
"What?" Ned asked, looking back from Chuck to Olive.
"It's not true, Ned. I swear!" Chuck blushed as she tried to cover her own tracks. .
"Well!" Olive said, pleased at the reaction. "I guess that means you and I."
Ned grimaced in disgust.
"Of course not!" he exclaimed, looking back to Chuck.
"You could go to jail for this, you know!" he said to her, nearly yelling.
"You won't tell, will you?" she asked, sticking her neck out like a goose.
"My best friend is a frigging cop! What part of 'Meth' and 'Illegal' don't you understand?" Ned asked, going to the kitchen and washing his hands. Olive and Chuck followed and watched as he began to make a new pie. He was using fresh fruit due to his fear that Olive would see.
"Apparently the 'illegal' part," Olive perked up, wriggling her nose like the little witch she was.
"Please stay out of this," Ned grunted, kneading the pie dough.
"Ned, it's okay, I can explain!" Chuck babbled, reaching into her pocket and pulling out a washed ten dollar bill. It was wrinkled and old and was probably something she had found at the laundry mat.
She handed it to Olive and motioned for her to go.
"Not yet, Drug Dealer!" Olive smirked at the door in response. There was a looming figure about to enter and red, blue, and white lights were flashing outside.
